I was prescribed 10mg amitryptilyine for migraine prevention. It seems to be helping with the migraines, however, I feel very tired all day and my eyes have bags under them and feel so tired all the time. It has been well over a month since I've started this and the side effects do not seem to be subsiding. Any suggestions?? I love the fact I'm not having the migraines but the side effects I can't handle much longer. ## Hello! How are you? This medication is a tricyclic antidepressant and it can cause REM onset latency, which means you don't enter the REM phase of sleep as fast as normal and spend less time in it than normal, so your sleep isn't as restful. That's likely why you feel so tired and have the bags under your eyes. I found that they improved about 6 w...

That's why I'm thinking it could be the Anoro Ellipta... ## The FDA does list it as being known as causing itching and a rash as side effects. However, it would be best to have this checked out, in case you are allergic to it. Other side effects are listed as possibly including belching, dry mouth, constipation, headache, and vertigo. Are COPD and asthma medications known for causing Edema or puffy feet? I've also had Astrazeneca vaccine 2 weeks ago. Weather is starting to warm up here in Australia. Thanks ## Many medications can cause edema as a side effect, but I can't be more specific, without knowing which medications you are using, since there are quite a few available. Can you please post back with more details? There are also cases where edema can be caused by some other health issue, such as high blood pressure. You can learn more about Edema here, from Medline Plus. Have you ever had blood pressure problems? ## Hi, I'm in Australia. Very hot type of year especially with COPD asthma. I have been taking Doxepin for about a year and I have the side effect of puffy cheeks. How long does it take for the weight gain and puffy cheeks to disappear? ## Hello, Mary! How are you doing? Has there been any change? The weight gain can be a typical side effect and, while it can last the duration of the time you're taking the medication, it usually levels off after a few months, as in it should hit a peak and then stop, you may not lose what you've gained, but shouldn't keep gaining more, according to FDA reports. How much have you gained? As to the puffy cheeks, that is not a reported side effect, though it could be related to the weight gain. Have you consulted your physician? ## Yes I have been off of the Doxepin for over a month. I haven't lost much weight, but...

I just got switched from penicillin to clindamycin 300 mg 3 times a day. My face wasn't puffy and huge like it is now at first. I have started taking it on the 14th. Is this normal for the face to swell up like this and my gums before it kicks in & flu like chills and 100 degree fever? I called the ambulance twice and they said I should call my dentist as soon as possible and I am. I kinda want to wait and see if the antibiotics will kick in or just go back to the ER? HELP ME PLEASE. ## Hello, Rae! How are you doing? Has there been any change? How long have you been taking the Clindamycin? The general rule with antibiotics is that if they are working, you shouldn't see any worsening after taking it for a full 24 hours, and you should start to see improvement, after taking it...

I just started on cialis. I am taking it for BHP as well. I have had really bad sinus swelling, dyspepsia, and red puffy eyes with viagra and lavitra. Are the cialis side effects any less? If not, do they tend to lessen with time? ## It may cause the same types of side effects, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea and headache. However, it may work better for you than the others, the only thing you can do is try it and see it. Sometimes finding the right medication to help you, without causing nasty side effects, is simply a matter of trial and error. Have you tried it, yet?

I have been taking lercanidipine for 1 week and my bp has gone up to 212/101 from 136/85. I have leg pain, dry mouth, sore tongue, puffy eyes, swollen ankles, lower backaches and very tired. Was advised to change from previous medication as potassium was low, although blood pressure was stable. I had no side effects with that medication. What should I do? ## Those can be typical side effects of this medication, as detailed by the U.S. FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. They are usually transient and should go away, after about 4 to 5 weeks, once your body gets used to the medication. If they do not go away, or if they worsen, you should consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a 4 year old grandson that has been on this for 10 days. No problems till tenth day. Broke out in a rash all over his body. Face (Cheeks) puffy. We gave him Benadryl. No sore throat or diarrhea. We think it's a reaction from the drug. Can you advise or confirm ? ## Hello, Patricia! How is he doing? Yes, it was likely due to an allergic reaction to, this antibiotic causes it fairly frequently comparatively and in most cases during the last day or two of treatment. He shouldn't continue taking it and it needs to be noted in his medical records, so he doesn't take it again in the future, because the reactions to this one just tend to get worse each time the person takes it, again. His doctor also needs to be informed, so they can check it out. Is there anything else I ca...

I have been taking 25 mg metoprolol and 400 mg magnesium oxide for atrial fibrillation for about a month. Over a week later a bad rash developed on both hands and one hand is red and puffy. I need it to work really badly, what do I do? ## Hi Linda, sorry to hear about the effects that you're experiencing. I had my second dose of the Astra Zeneca COVID shot in mid July. I felt ok after the 1st shot, but after the 2nd shot I still get nausea, shakes, body jerks when relaxing, bloated puffy feet. I've also been diagnosed with low Vit D and anemia ( 20 ). I've had COPD asthma for 3 yrs now. I'm coughing more and breathing worse since the shot. Really scared I'm going to get flu and end up in hospital. I'm 68, I've now got vit D capsules to take every day. Will my vit D levels improve at my age? Already on corticosteroid puffers for COPD. Thank you ## Hello Lou! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about what you're dealing with from your health issues.
