My husband has suffered from prostatitis for 3 years. He used to have a frequent need to urinate. When urinating, there was pain and burning sensation. He also had pain in his testicle, scrotum, lower abdomen. What's worse, he couldn't sleep well at night because of the frequent urination. Though many treatments have been tried, it's herd to prevent the relapse. Then we tried a herbal medicine called diuretic and anti-inflammatory pill, it worked well on eliminating the pain. After about 4 months medication, all his symptoms cured completely. We were so happy to see the great success. I want to share this story to encourage those who are suffering the same condition as my husband. Don't give in and don't give up, the disease will be cured if you find a proper treatme...

I have chronic prostatitis for over years. My pain in testicles and lower back get severe these days. What medicine is efficient for curing chronic prostatitis? ## Hello, Jackson! How are you doing? I am sorry that you're in so much pain. Have they discovered the cause? There are 2 types of chronic prostatitis, one that is due to a bacterial infection, and the other isn't. As reported by the NIH, the bacterial form is usually treated with 4 to 12 weeks of antibiotics, plus medications to alleviate the pain. The other type is generally caused by inflammation that may have no known origin. What kind of testing has been done? ## Thank you for your reply. I had a test of my prostate fluid and it showed that it was not caused by bacteria. I'm taking a herbal medicine called diure...

I'm currently being treated for prostatitis w/Cipro. Also have chronic epydidymitis. Originally prescribed Bactim, but showed no improvement after 4 days, so was given 60 day course of Cipro. I've researched Cipro on the internet and am now very concerned about being on a fluoroquinolone drug for such a long time. I also suffer a lot from issues related to my gut. Could I expect it to still be effective to stop the Cipro & go back & finish the Bactrim prescription now? I have completed 10 days on the Cipro and have about 6 days of pills left on the Bactrim. Meanwhile, I still have pain & symptoms related to my prostate & testicle. ## The Bactrim is more likely to cause you problems, since it is a sulfa based antibiotic and many people end up being very sensitive ...

I am suggestted Zifi 200 for prostatitis. I took it for 10 days, and it g ot better. However it recurs. If I take this tablet for long time say a month( 2 tabs a day), is that ok. ## Zifi contains the active ingredient Cefexime, which is an antibiotic used to treat or prevent infections. Antibiotics, such as this, are often given for longer periods of time to treat chronic prostatitis. However, you should check with your doctor, before using it for that long of a period of time. This medication may cause side effects, such as: nausea, skin rash, drowsiness and diarrhea. Learn more: Are there any other questions?

I am posting this hoping that it will keep someone from an emergency ride to the ER. I have had prostatitis for weeks. Tylenol combined with naproxin have not been very effective in controlling the pain. Last night I decided to try some oxycodone left over from a 2007 back surgery. It has been stored at room temp. in a dark drawer. It smelled normal. To be “conservative” I cut a 5/325 oxycodone into four pieces and only took 1/4 of the pill. Thirty minutes later I was feeling awful and my blood pressure had shot up to 210/118. I had a rapid heart rate and it was pounding. Later, I was having chills and uncontrollable shaking. I was seriously afraid for my life. After an expensive ride via EMS, IV, EKG, blood work and u/a's, Benadryl inj. and three hours of monitoring my ...
