Propranolol, sold under the brand name Inderal among others, is a medication of the beta blocker class.[1] It is used to treat high blood pressure, a number of types of irregular heart rate, thyrotoxicosis, capillary hemangiomas, performance anxiety, and essential tremors,[1][2][3] as well to prevent migraine headaches, and to prevent further heart problems in those with angina or previous heart attacks.[1] It can...

Hi. Yes. Is it possible for this drug to leave like an oiliness on face, chest & back? It can easi- ly be scraped off with a finger nail Is this something Ishould worry over Have been taking it since Jan.,2006 Taking it for my heart and angina. Thank you very much. Signed Marion ## Well, really it is possible to say that any drug can cause almost anything, everyone reacts to them in different ways, you can also react differently from name brand to generic since the binders and fillers are different. However, to rule out some other problem that needs addressing, your best bet is to talk to your doctor. They will know if it is a possible cause of the drug, or if it could symbolize some other health problem that needs addressing.

I was on Propranolol 80mg extended-release tablets for 2 days for my anxiety. I know it's bad to suddenly stop taking beta-blockers, but I had to because my heart rate was too low and I felt horrible. I was told by a doctor that I should be ok to just stop altogether. I really just wanted some reassurance. Will I be ok? I stopped about 2 days ago, and my heart rate seems fine. ## OMG story of my life! I was prescribed Propranolol 80mg for anxiety also and just stopped taking them cold turkey 2 days ago because it was lowering my blood pressure and heart rate way too much, making me dizzy/light headed, etc. I feel awful right now, I have a headache, weird heart palpitations/fluttering, weakness, fatigue, sweating, etc. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow and I'm going to speak t...

can i break the tablet in half ## I have been taking 10 mg of propranolol twice a day. My heartrate was around 52-70 and I was feeling like I had no energy most of the time. I have been breaking the tablets in half and I am taking a half a tablet twice a day but at times my heartrate is around 100-110 and I am feeling anxious. Should i be concerned? ## I certainly hope Jen found an answer to her question, or consulted her doctor. As to her heart rate issues, the 52 to 70 really isn't a concern, that's fairly close to normal, the normal resting rate for an adult is 60 to 100, so the 52 isn't severely low and the 70 is right in the proper range. ….some well trained athletes may have a heart rate of only 40 or so, at rest, because they are in top shape and the...

what is the differents between the propranolol 80mg tablets and and propranolol 80mg ? ## I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here, 80mgs would be the same as 80mgs, regardless of the form, be it tablets, liquids or what have you. There can be differences in the release mechanism, such as if one tablet is time released and the other is an instant release. I'll gladly provide you with more information if you can post back and be a little more specific. Propranolol is a Beta Blocker, commonly used in the treatment of high blood pressure. I have been presccribed 160 mg per day for tremors and a 125 heart rate at rest. i have weened off of taking 90 mg of xanax a month to taking these and they really have work. Although they work very well and I am now to a point of taking xanax only "as needed", which isn't often, I recently got a refill on the propranolol, it says er on the end when last month it said "sa". Should I be concerned? How long, (if I have been without the propranolol for over a week between prescriptions, will I expect to wait for them to work as well as they did before. (I didn't feel like I needed a xanax at all, which was almost a miracle to me after five years of 90 a month)..... Is this extened released like inderal LA? My Dr switched me to this. I have had great results with controlling migranes with inderal, can I expect same result with propranolol ER? ## Yes, the ER stands for extended release and Propranolol is just the generic for Inderal, or what would be its active ingredient. As to whether or not you will get the same results, there is really no way to say with any certainty. Theoretically, you should, but there can be some minor differences in generic medications, from the name brands and some people are very sensitive to those differences and find that some of the generics don't work as well. The only way to find out is to actually try it and see how well it works for you. Propranolol is a beta blocker and may cause side effects, such as: nausea, ...

What ARE the differences between: Propranolol SA, and ER? Is it OK for my Pharmacists to substitute SA for ER? ## Yes, they are actually the same thing. The SA is an abbreviation for sustained action and the ER is an abbreviation for extended release, but they both designate that it is a time released formulation of the medication. You'll often see it abbreviated differently, some us SR, XR and etc. Is there anything else I can help with? ## what is the difference between propanolol hcl & propanolol sa

Hello. I started taking 20mg propranolol immediate release for migraines 3 times daily. This was working perfectly for my migraines. My doctor decided to change my medication to the extended release propranolol 60mg once daily, reason being she said it would be more convenient for me. As soon as I started the extended release my migraines came back. Why would this happen if it's the same medication and what should I do? ## Hello, Christina! How are you? Has there been any change? The time released is slowly released throughout the day, so you might not be getting enough, at once, to stave off your migraines. The full dose of the regular release is usually working within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it, so that might be why it worked better for you. Have you asked him about going back ...
