But the leaflet in the box says, One tab can be taken only once a day. Is it a problem for me, for taking XL 50 twice a day ?

I am of age 66 . I am taking PROLOMET R 50 one tab. daily evening 9 p.m. for the purpose of high blood pressure as suggested by Doctor. After taking this mediation next morning my blood pressure become low as about 70-110. And when are you checking your blood pressure? If you're doing it immediately on waking, then lower numbers are normal, because your body slows down to rest, at night when you're sleeping. Are you experiencing any symptoms, such as dizziness, or nausea? If not, then there is no reason to worry, those numbers are not dangerous on their own.

I AM TAKING PROLOMET XL 100 FOR MORE THAN A YEAR UNDER DOCTOR'S ADVICE. STILL I FEEL CHEST PAIN. I am a Kidney patient since 3 years. My creatine level was 2.24 and 2.26. After taking Prolomet xl 50mg 1-0-1, my creatinine level raised from 2.4 to 4.4. my husband is suffering from hypertrophic non obstructive cardiomyopathy. recently we visited a doc who suggested to start with prolomet xl 25 & dytor 5 stopping his prior medicine I.e Cardibeta 50 mg. I wanted to know whether we accept or go for a 2nd opinion. what can be the probable results & side effects. your suggestion is awaited.

Can both Amlodipine 5 mg and Prolomet 50 XL be taken together in the morning? Or Prolomet 50 XL in the morning and Amlodipine 5 mg in the evening? My heart beat becomes emphasised 104-105 bpm whereas normally it is 70-80 bpm and have a sunken uneasy feeling in chest after taking prolomet 50 which I have been taking since last 2 months after heart attack.please advise if medicine power needs to be reduced.

Hi, my dad got his angioplasty done 2.5 months back with 2 stents. He is diabetic, has high blood pressure and operated for add closure in 1976. He was taking ramcor h and amlosafe 5 before the angioplasty. Post angioplasty his blood pressure medicine was changed to olmat 20 mg one at night and prolomet am 5/50 in the morning. His no was still high so the dosage was increased to Olmat 40 mg. But with this increased dosage he has to wake up for urinating several times at night. Also he has started getting swelling on feet. Dr said swelling is because of amlodopine in prolomet am. I spoke to the Dr and asked him to change the combination for blood pressure. 1 month before my master checkup i was having regular headaches sometimes at a very high frequency. After the master checkup came to know that my BP was high 200/180 (i doubt on 180). Immediately i was admitted in icu and was treated for 3 days later with drugs. I was discharged when it was 160/120 (120 am not sure) cardiologist took echo diagnostic and said grade 1 disease. Later he gave me Amlong 5mg(1-0-1); Tazloc 80mg(1-0-1); Prolomet XL 50(1-0-0); Larpose 1mg(0-0-1). I didnt take Larpose but started to take the other tablets. Are there any side effects for this drug ?? I had angioplasty done two years ago. The doctor put me on Met XL R 25/2.5 and Prolomet AM 50 for my bp. I also take Ecosprin AV 75 regularly. I feel at times very tired without any workout and bit depressed. Feel weak in my legs when I walk. Lots of gas and palpitation on and off. I am wondering if it is due to these tabs. Kindly advise. My father had done an angiogram a few weeks back and found blocked arteries lcx 99% d1 and d2 80% and one 50% and had done pci to lcx two weeks back. The doctor prescribed clopilet 75 twice daily, ecosprin 300 (150 * 2) aztor 40, prolemet xl 25, once daily he is also a diabetic patient from 10 yrs. He just started to take insulin novamax 50 20 unit in the morning and 14 unit in the evening, avrly 1mg twice daily, siptin 1000 in the morning and siptin 500 in the evening.
