Taking Prolomet AM 50 -1 bd for the past 6 months. Upper portion of the toes of both legs getting swollen for the past one week ## Have you contacted your doctor? I am of age 66 . I am taking PROLOMET R 50 one tab. daily evening 9 p.m. for the purpose of high blood pressure as suggested by Doctor. After taking this mediation next morning my blood pressure become low as about 70-110. And when are you checking your blood pressure? If you're doing it immediately on waking, then lower numbers are normal, because your body slows down to rest, at night when you're sleeping. Are you experiencing any symptoms, such as dizziness, or nausea? If not, then there is no reason to worry, those numbers are not dangerous on their own.

Can both Amlodipine 5 mg and Prolomet 50 XL be taken together in the morning? Or Prolomet 50 XL in the morning and Amlodipine 5 mg in the evening? I'm taking them to control my blood pressure which is 160/90. ## Is 160/90 your BP before or after you take Amlodipine? ## They can be taken together, as long as your doctor approves, or separately, if that suits you better. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. What instructions has your doctor provided?

Hi, my dad got his angioplasty done 2.5 months back with 2 stents. He is diabetic, has high blood pressure and operated for add closure in 1976. He was taking ramcor h and amlosafe 5 before the angioplasty. Post angioplasty his blood pressure medicine was changed to olmat 20 mg one at night and prolomet am 5/50 in the morning. His no was still high so the dosage was increased to Olmat 40 mg. But with this increased dosage he has to wake up for urinating several times at night. Also he has started getting swelling on feet. Dr said swelling is because of amlodopine in prolomet am. I spoke to the Dr and asked him to change the combination for blood pressure. I am a Kidney patient since 3 years. My creatine level was 2.24 and 2.26. After taking Prolomet xl 50mg 1-0-1, my creatinine level raised from 2.4 to 4.4. I have been taking prolomet XL 50 for a long time. Recently I got a supply of prolomet AM 50. Are these drugs interchangeable and can I switch from one to the other? What actually is the difference between these two in terms of the symptoms / diagnosis for which these are used and other effects? ## Prolomet XL contains the active ingredient Metoprolol in a time released formulation, it is a beta blocker that's used to treat hypertension, as well as certain cardiac conditions. The Prolomet AM combines the Metoprolol with the calcium channel blocker Amlodipine, for better blood pressure control. And no, therefore they are not interchangeable, because one contains an additional medication.

my husband is suffering from hypertrophic non obstructive cardiomyopathy. recently we visited a doc who suggested to start with prolomet xl 25 & dytor 5 stopping his prior medicine I.e Cardibeta 50 mg. I wanted to know whether we accept or go for a 2nd opinion. what can be the probable results & side effects. your suggestion is awaited.

My heart beat becomes emphasised 104-105 bpm whereas normally it is 70-80 bpm and have a sunken uneasy feeling in chest after taking prolomet 50 which I have been taking since last 2 months after heart attack.please advise if medicine power needs to be reduced.

1 month before my master checkup i was having regular headaches sometimes at a very high frequency. After the master checkup came to know that my BP was high 200/180 (i doubt on 180). Are there any side effects for this drug ?? I had angioplasty done two years ago. The doctor put me on Met XL R 25/2.5 and Prolomet AM 50 for my bp. I also take Ecosprin AV 75 regularly. I am taking following medicines: For BP : Telma Am 40mg & Prolomet XL 50 MG - one each in the morning Telma AM 40 Mg & Prolomet XL 25 MG - one each in the night For Diabetes : Invokana 100 MG - one in the Morning with Tea & Glycomet 1GM - after Breakfast and Dinner. I am 51 female suffering from diabetes and high BP. I was on riomet 500 mg for Diabetes and Prolomet AM 25 and repace25 for BP. Generally well controlled .Last 15 days back my sugar was 200 PP and hence advised Gemer 1 mg once a day. I always have constipation with hard stools but from the past 10 days I strain a lot. From yesterday I am Advised Riomet 500 again and advised Lactihep syrup 10 ml twice. passed soft stools today with less strain although feel that I did not pass completely.
