I have found from past use of antibiotics that my digestion suffers. I have used probiotics to help with the problem and am wondering if and how you recomend taking probiotics with Amoxil. ## your not really supposed to take other things with the drug.talk to your doctor about your digestion problems ## Now a post from back in February. You really are into the antibiotic posts. Yes, some things you take can effect how well a drug works for you, so you shouldn't take anything, even over the counter items, without consulting your doctor or pharmacist.

Should I double up on probiotics when taking cefpodoxime to protect my digestive tract? ## The FDA lists the typical side effects of Cefpodoxime as possibly including nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. As to the probiotics, while they can help, there is always a risk of taking too much of a good thing, thus it is best to stick with the normal dosage, if you are going to take one. Recent NIH studies have found complications in people that are overusing them. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am taking amox clav 875 mg 2x/day with little to no side effects. If you will take a probiotic (eg. acidopholus) or eat yogurt with live and active cultures when you take this medication (or any antibiotic) you will avoid or significantly reduce the side effects related to the gut, especially diarrhea. The probiotic/yogurt replaces the good gut bacteria destroyed by the non-specific antibiotic. Hope this helps. ## Hello, Iteechum! Thank you for the very helpful post! I am currently taking Bupropion and a probiotic which slightly suppresses my appetite. I will be starting Belviq this week (still waiting for it to be delivered) and I'm concerned about the interaction with the probiotic. I have been weaning myself off of the Bupropion, but should I discontinue the probiotic also?

Can you take Norco and a probiotic at the same time? Or do you have to wait an hour or so in between? ## There shouldn't be an issue, from what I know. The FDA warns that Norco carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. (NDC 0115-1559 for more details.) I take a very high quality probiotic that kept away thrush, I then was prescribed amoxicillin after I had suffered a few days of a flu, so I stopped my probiotics for the length of the antibiotics. The thrush has returned. I've completed the antibiotics, had enough for 1 weeks dosage. I've upped my probiotic & am eating extremely healthy, should the thrush clear up. I suffered with it for almost 3 years then these probiotics did clear it up. I'm in a lot of pain please help. ## Hello, Taz! How are you? Is there any interaction with essential oils and suboxone?? Can you continue to take a ProBiotic while taking this medication? ## Many articles I'm reading are stating that it's just as important to take probiotics whenever you're using antibiotics, because antibiotics kill both the bad and the good gut flora that your body needs to maintain good health.
