Hi! I want to postpone my periods. They are always regular. I had my last periods on 16th april (was 1st day). Now if i have to take primolut nor 10mg from when do i have to start the dosage? From which date i have to start in this month to postphone my periods? Thanks. ## Hi rrk, Based on my research, Primolut Nor (10 mg) contains the active ingredient Norethindrone; which is a molecule used in some combined oral contraceptive pills, progestogen only pills and is also available as a stand-alone drug. It is a progestogen and can be used to treat premenstrual syndrome, painful periods, abnormal heavy bleeding, irregular periods, menopausal syndrome (in combination with oestrogen), or to postpone a period. It is also commonly used to help prevent uterine hemorrhage in complicated non-surg...

Hi. I started taking primolut nor 3 days before my expected date to delay my period. But I have started spotting. Will the spotting stop if I continue taking one tablet daily? Or now is it too late to stop the period? ## Hello, Suki! How are you? Yes, 3 days before your period likely wasn't long enough to delay it. Have you consulted your doctor? If you would like to have better control over when your period occurs in the future, you should talk to your doctor about taking an oral contraceptive. ## Hi, I had DUB and took primolut to stop. When the bleeding stopped after two days whenever i urinate i am passing blot clots which is similar to premenstrual symptom. It's almost 8 days now. should i be worried? or it's because of the tablet? ## Hi. I have a polycystic ovary and i...

Is salty taste in mouth a side effect of primolut nor ? ## Hello, Esti! How are you? Most medications can cause an odd taste in your mouth. Since this is a hormone, it could also be causing dry mouth, which could also be causing it. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and irregular bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

How will I know when I have undergone menopause, if I'm still taking Primolut and not having periods. Can the hormone levels be taken via blood test and will I have to stop taking the primolut prior to the blood test to get the true hormone levels. ## Hello, Judy! How are you? Yes and yes! Most likely the doctor will have you stop it to see if you get a period and, if you don't, then check the levels via blood work. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I’m 50 , been on primulot n for 10 years , how do know if I get menopause , if I stop taking primulot for a week ,I still bleed .jump back on it about 2 days stopped again .....if I get a full blood test can I tell ...

Hi, I am 29 years old and 18 weeks pregnant. I had spotting a few days ago and my Dr gave me primolut nor. I want to ask is it safe to take it during pregnancy and what is the effect of the medication on the spotting? ## Hi! Sorry about the issues you're having and I hope all has turned out well. Primolut-N contains a synthetic form of Progesterone and yes, it is vital to maintain a healthy pregnancy. If you've started spotting, it means your body isn't producing enough and your doctor is trying to help you be able to carry your baby to full term by supplementing it back. It's very important that you take it according to your doctor's instructions. Is there anything else I can help with? ## As far as I know, it is not safe during pregnancy, for Primolut N the 5mg is ...

I've been taking them for 2 months and got my period. But I feel something is wrong, I was hesitant about hormone therapy, I'm female but I identify with both genders mostly the male gender, I am not transgender but this change in hormones is driving me crazy and I don't feel like myself. the first thing I told my doctor is that I feel like a boy inside ...

Hello, I usually take Noriday (have been on it for years) however I just realised that I am on my last month of Noriday. I live in a remote pacific island and the only thing close to Noriday avalible through my local pharmacy is Primolut. Can I take Primolut for a month while I wait for Noriday to be mailed over? I need it to prevent my period as I get migraines when I get my period and also to act as contraceptive. ## Hello, MK! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Yes, those both are listed by MIMs as containing the same active ingredient, Norethisterone, which is a hormone. My Dr suggested Primolut-N 5 mg for getting periods which is delayed by two months. Pregnancy test result was negative at that time. I have used this medicine for 5 days. After two weeks of stoppage, I am not getting my periods and my pregnancy test result is positive also. What to do? ## Hi there. I read your post. I have the same issue now. Can you please share what happened? I mean did you carry on with the pregnancy? If yes, then was your baby normal (i-e with no disabilities)? Regards.

Hi, I skipped a period for the 1st time last month and my gyn gave me Primolut Nor 5mg twice a day for 5 days. I stopped 4 days ago and still no period. Is this normal. I am 41, not pregnant and still ovulating. Thank you ## Did they do any testing to check your hormone levels? Even if you are still ovulating, at 41 you could be entering the beginning stages of menopause, called perimenopause, it can actually start as young as 30. If that's what's going on, the Norethisterone in the Primolut Nor taken for just a few days may not be enough to rebalance your hormones. Learn more Norethisterone details here. It is a Progestogen and, in most cases, if you're hormones are starting to taper off, it's Estrogen that's usually falling and needed the most. Skipping just once i...

I'am 51 yrs old and I am having heavy periods for more than a wk during my period. my OB doctor told me to take Primolut N, 5mg 3xdaily from day 2-25 of my cycle (21 days/month) but sometimes my day 2 is still very heavy, Can I start taking Primolut N even if I'm still bleeding heavily to complete the 21 days of medication as prescribed by my OB Gyn doctor? Thank you! ## Hello, Dhay! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. When you are aging and going through hormonal changes, it can be normal for the second day of your period to be heavy and there isn't much you can do to change it. The other option you could ask your doctor about that may help would be just taking an oral contraceptive for awhile, to try to balance your hormones back out. Are you on an...

My best friend is 4 months pregnant and she already took 24 tablets of primulot nor 10mg. That was 2pcs. twice daily for 6 days. Can it cause birth defects? We are worried if the fetus is still ok because not only that, she took PANADOL (medicine for headache) twice because she suffered headache on the 5th and 6th day of taking primulot nor. Please answer. ## Hello, NIcey! How are you? Primolut Nor contains a hormone that is actually essential to a healthy pregnancy, so no, that will not harm the baby. Pandadol is also considered safe to use during pregnancy, so there shouldn't be anything to worry about. She should, or course, let her doctor know that she took them, but there is likely no risk to the baby, as reported by the U.S. FDA. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi, ...

Hi can I still ovulate while taking primolut n...I am 30 yrs old and am having very heavy bleeding more than 10 days and I would like to stop it but my husband and I are trying to conceive..By using this tablet will I still be able to get pregnant? ## Not likely, but it also isn't like that you will get pregnant while bleeding, either, according to the NIH. It would be best to take the medication as directed, get the bleeding to stop, and then start trying to conceive. Are you on any other medications? Are your periods usually regular? ## I have a normal period but my doctor recommended primolut-n for me... Can I ovulate with it, because we want to make babies?
