My husband and I decided to try for our third baby. I went in for 2 consultations to make sure that the 50mg I was taking once a day would not cause any problems. I was reassured twice that it was completely safe and would control my panic attacks while I was pregnant. I am 7 months pregnant and my son has been diagnosed with hrhs it is a severe heart condition... Women beware I have had 2 very healthy babies and now my third son is facing a life of open heart surgeries!!! ## I am very sorry about your child's diagnosis. On the Pristiq, I want to ask who told you it was safe? Learn more Pristiq details here. Dr gave me Nystatin vaginal cream to treat yeast...he told me to applay that cream into vagina for 7 days.I am pregnant six weaks...Is there any risk for baby?I told him that I am pregnant, and he know that... ## Hi Nickol, Based on my research, Nystatin is listed as a Pregnancy category C drug. This means that animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus but there are not any adequate nor well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks. Since your doctor allowed you to use this medication, and he knows you are pregnant, I wouldn't worry. If you notice any side effects such as vaginal discharge, speak with your doctor. It's recommended that the medication is stored at room tem...

Hi. I have been using yaz for about 7 months but switched to oralcon. I am currently at my second red pill of the month but I haven't started my cycle yet. I do have extreme cramps, breast tenderness and tiredness but there is no signs of my cycle. I have taken it religiously, and have used extra protection during intimacy with my husband, however we are not ready for children and now we are worried that there might be a chance of pregnancy. ## Irregular cycles can be a normal side effect of oral contraceptives, according to NIH studies, some women even stop having periods entirely, while taking them. Other side effects may include nausea, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. However, the only way to really be sure is by checking for pregnancy. Are you on any other medication...

Is vista often prescribed to pregnant women to relax them or make them sleep? Does this drug affect the fetus? ## My daughter was prescribed visteral for her morning sickness and then saw that it said not to take if pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant. I also saw an article that said it would harm an unborn fetus. but her doctor says it is alright. this is very confusing and we are afraid it may hurt her unborn baby?? ## Precautionary guidelines for Vistaril (hydroxyzine) note the following: tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking hydroxyzine, call your doctor. Another reputable source indicates that the use of hydroxyzine does not appear to be associated with increased teratogenic risk (embryo abnor...

So I've been on Depakote ER 500mg for 3 months now.(sorry if this is tmi) I've always had regular menstrual cycles but since I have started I didn't have one for two months then had a terrible painful one, hair loss, weight gain... just every terrible side effect I am on it for bipolar not for seizures and I want to get pregnant haven't been using protection since I've been on this and ive had two pregnancies before the meds easily, so I'm wondering how long it'll take after I taper myself off to be able to get back into a normal cycle and feel normal again any personal expierences are welcomed too. ## The FDA lists Depakote as being in pregnancy category D, meaning that there is definitive evidence of fetal risk, if women were taking it while pregnant. I'm wondering if anyone else out there took this drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding and what their experience was. I know anecdotal evidence is not scientific proof of anything, but studying pregnant women is not ethical. I noticed they just started a provigil pregnancy registry to track women who choose to stay on it while pregnant but I'm guessing it will be some time until we hear any results from that. I chose to stay on it during my pregnancy because I had to work and drive safely. I lowered my dose to the lowest amount I can function on. My son was born completely healthy, very social, happy, no health issues. However, in order to breastfeed, I was switched to ritalin since there is more information available about it and breastfeeding. I hate it... it barely works (I ...

I suffer from cluster headaches and I was put back on Amitriptyline 10MG for this. I just found out I am pregnant yesterday. Do I need to stop taking this medicine? Please say that it wont hurt anything. ## Hi Mellisa - sorry to hear about your cluster headaches, but congratulations on your pregnancy! While I don't want you to be too alarmed, Amitriptyline is in pregnancy category D in the USA which states "There is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience or studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks." So in other words, your doctor needs to be made aware of your pregnancy ASAP (if you haven't already told them) so that they can m...

what are the chances of getting pregnant while on this medication, while having the birth control, called implanon? ## The problem with antibiotics and birth control occurs when women are using oral contraceptives, because the antibiotics can affect the birth control tablets, in the digestive system and cause them to be less effective. Therefore, with an implanted IUD, this risk is eliminated, so the antibiotic will not lower the efficacy of the IUD and increase your risk of pregnancy. You will still be protected. Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim may cause some side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more: Are there any other comments or questions?

Suboxone and Subutex are classified by the FDA as Pregnancy Category C medications." I got poked by a safety pin in my knuckle and it went into my finger pretty deep. I took it out and it immediately was swollen and blackish blue color. It looks like it punctured my vein or something or popped a blood vessel. I have a brand new prescription of amoxicillin, would this help or do you think this will just go away on its own? Also I'm 7 months pregnant, is amoxicillin safe to take with the baby? ## Amoxicillin is a class B drug which means it has been studied in animals to 10x what we give to people and no birth defects have been found. If you were breastfeeding, there would be some crossover as it is present in small amounts in breast milk, but it is one of the safest antibiotics for pregnant women on the market. ## However, it will not help with this type of issue. I got the tablets for an infection and I'm pregnant. Will it have any effects? ## Eryko contains the active ingredient Erythromycin, it is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections. And no, in the U.S. the FDA has found it to cause Hepatoxicity (liver damage) in pregnant women. While it is reversible, when the medication is discontinued, it can endanger both the mother and baby, so they have not approved it for use during pregnancy. I suggest you contact your doctor about why they prescribed this one and ask them about using an alternative medication.
