How are you? First, alcohol lowers your seizure threshold, so drinking if you have epilepsy is never a good idea. Second, alcohol can worsen the side effects of medications, so as listed by the FDA, you may experience more nausea, dizziness and drowsiness than usual. Basically one drink may affect you the same as having 2 or 3 and so on. Thus, unless your doctor clears you to have a couple drinks, it would ...

I use pregabalin for diabetic neuropathy but it is also a wonder drug for frozen shoulder. Infact I could not sleep at night due to pain on my shoulder but pregabalin blocks that pain. ## I think it's great you found a medication that kills two birds with one stone! Sorry about the problems you're having. No, it's not a narcotic. Pregabalin is actually an anticonvulsant that is also helpful in treating certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. What are some other related medicine alternatives to taking Pregabalin? ## Pregabalin is actually an anticonvulsant, which has also been proven to help with certain types of nerve pain. This is a pretty broad category of medications, as you can see here: If you are looking for the ones that can specifically help with pain, like Pregabalin, which are GABA Analogues, there is only one other available on the U.S. market and that is Gabapentin, also sold under the brand name Neurontin. I am on 600mgs gabapentin 3 times daily. It has caused weight gain and due to the short duration of action I have to dose three separate times. I wanted to know if pregabalin might be better for me. I take gabbys for anxiety and mood disorder. I have heard pregabalin is more efficient and effective. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks. ## There's no way to say which one is more efficient and effective for any given person that tries it, since we are all different. What works well for one person may not work for another, and vice versa. As reported by the FDA, they both carry the risk of causing similar side effects, which aside from the weight gain, may also include nausea, dizziness, headache, and mood swings. Have you discussed the issues with your doctor?
