I was having burning sensation at my back and later on my fingers and am diagnosed for fibromialgia .I am taking the above mentioned capsule for the past 3 months .How long shd I continue. hi ive just been put on pregabalina for nerve damage to my right leg i was put on gablapenting is it just the same ## NO! Pregabalin and Gabapentin are two different drugs.! Pregabalin is a generic for Lyrica and Gabapentin is the generic for Neurontin, though they are both used to treat nerve pain.

My wife got paralysis stroke on the left side of her face in May 2011 due to high BP. It was cured after hospital treatment. After one year she got post paralysis symptoms like her left eye was burning and felt painful, water discharge from nose, backside of her head felt like it was burning, right hand burning. 71 yearsa old male, ht 162 cms.Had open heart surgery on 28 Jan 2011. Post Herpetic Neuralgia on 25 June was prescribed Pregabalin 75mg 2xBD. Viminta Forte 1xOD has now been added. Besides drowsiness, dry mouth, I have gained 5 kg weight(from 63 to 68 kgs) in the last three months and have developed severe constipation. Also there is a conspicuous droop of left eyelid which is now almost obstructing my vision. Earlier I was suffering from severe pain in the effected area (left side of sotmatch from naval to my backbone), sudden stabbing sensation and attacks of itching, which has now decreased to 40%. i am taking the above 2 drugs for the last about two months. I am diabitic for the last about 25 years and with good control over my sugar. I have a sedentary lifestyle. How long I have to take these medicines. I feel sleepy and lazy all the time. ## Which other medication are you taking? You only listed one. You should take the medication as long as your doctor says you need to continue doing so. I am taking Pregabalin 75 mg, one capsule daily. While on this medication should alcohol be avoided totally? Or, on a particular day, if I intend to take a drink, can I skip the medicine for a day? i am 47 and have been on this drug twice a day for around 3yrs and since taking i have had muscles spasms, twitching,constipation,feeling high,but the drugs works well so am not sure whether to continue and put up with these side effects which can be quite annoying or check with doctor about changing the drug ? what do you think ## Is the only one in this drug class that you've tried? I had a laminectomy, T-10-T-11 and there was damage to my spinal cord. I was recently placed on 75mg of Alond, pregabalina to help with possible spinal cord recovery, regeneration. ## Both of the medications you mentioned have been used to treat nerve pain, but there is nothing about them regenerating anything. Pfizer has even abandoned testing of Alond and no longer plans to pursue its production. Hi, I had a gastric bypass op in 2004. Lost 75kg. I also suffer from lipoedema and have extra large legs/bottom half of legs and upper arms. Have a bad back, had cortisone injections in both sacroiliac joints. I get bloated/pain under left ribcage like a stitch in your side when you run and are unfit. I am petrified to pick up a weight or have swollen legs, yet was given Lyrica for the pain? I am very confused. Also on hrt and was given Salpraz for my stomach.
