I have taken the 48 pac of prednisone before and it was a graduated dosage by the cards they were on - the prescription I received today was in a bottle and did not have any instructions on how to take them like the ones in the pac. I took double dose of prednisone 60mg in one day 9 hours apart for sinus infection. Should I be worried? ## I was given a 24 hr prednisone shot yesterday to help with my tight chest and coughing. They prescribed 60 mg for 3 days as I had been taking 40mg 2 days prior. I would like to split the dosage so I don't cough at night. I am also taking albuterol in a nebulizer every 4 hrs as the inhaler was not working as good as the treatments in the doctor's office. Can I split the dosage to 30mg twice daily so I can get relief from coughing while trying to get some sleep? Can someone take 10 mg of Prednisone then just stop or do you have to taper off? ## Just one tablet likely won't require a taper, but it's also not going to help you much, since that won't give it a chance to have much of a therapeutic effect in the body. If I get symptom relief after one 25 mg tablet ;do I still need to step down the dosage or can I stop after 1 tablet ## Hello, Tony! How are you? You should follow your doctors instructions. Just because symptoms went away, that doesn't mean that problem has resolved, yet, so you may end up right back where you started, if you don't finish the medication. There can also be serious complications stopping a steroid suddenly. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Can this med.constipate me? ## Prednisone is a steroid class medication and actually, it usually causes diarrhea as a side effect in most people that take it, along with nausea, weight gain and fluid retention. Tyenol PM or advil PM ## Can't sleep on prednisone what can I take yo)to. help me ## I would recommend staying away from the Advil/Ibuprofen, because it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and taking it with the Prednisone can seriously increase the risk of developing stomach problems, such as bleeding ulcers. There are, however, no interactions listed between taking the Prednisone, with the Tylenol PM, which contains Acetaminophen and Diphenhydramine, but you may want to double check that with your pharmacist to be certain. Hi i today is my girdt day i habe ro take this medication , i have to take 1tab oral, two times a day . Yesturday i was given a steroid shot however today when i woke up my upper stomach hurts i feel very uncomtable it still hurts !!! I usually take prednisone on an as needed basis but was prescribed this 7 day prescription. I had a allergic reaction to some makeup or cream and had very swollen and red eyelids/skin. Was prescribed 8 pills of 20 mg prednisone to take 2x/day for 4 days. I look so much better after taking the 3 pills, can I just stop now or is it like an anibotic and I need to finish the course of the pills? I have been prescribed to take 20 mg prednisone a day but haven't started taking it yet because of the scary side effects. The doctor prescribed methis medicine because of the lumps that has been on my leg. The prescription says to take 7 days 20mg , 7 days 10 mg and 3 days 5mg. Im really scared to take the meds because of the reviews that i have read. Hi everybody, I accidently switched my 1 mg tablets with 5 mg. As a result I'been taken 13 mg of prednisone instead of 5 mg. I'been tapering prednisone 1 mg in two weeks prior to this. What do I do now? Switch back to 5 mg a day, or taper off 13 mg gradually? I was cleaning my coffee pot with vinegar & water and it spilled out on my counter. My prednisone pills 10 milligrams were in a paper envelope. Most of them got wet and looks like they dissolved a little. But I took them out of the envelope to dry. Some of them fall apart when I pick them up. Is it still safe to take these. They were given to me for a cough from sinus and allergies. ## I have follow up test every six month for cancer n removal of right kidney. Because fifteen years ago I had reaction to iodine. I have to take 50 mg 13 hrs before test then 50 mg 7 hours before the test n 50 mg 1 hr before test. Also I take 50 mg of Benadryl 1 hr before procedure. Nothing else to come off it. Yikes. I accidentally took all my first day of Methylprednisolone pills at one time. Will I be ok? ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? Usually, they are only spaced out to try to help minimize the side effects, as listed by the FDA, they may include nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, and insomnia, so taking them all at once, may worsen those effects. The last time I was on this, my pharmacist flat out told me that it was fine to talk them, all at once, if I preferred, so I did. If I did so in the morning, then the worst of the side effects were worn off, by the time I was ready to go to bed. It's always best to double check with your doctor to be sure, though. ## This was helpful.I took all 6 at once and thought I might have overdosed.

if the bottle says take 6 tablets a day for two days, then 5 tablets a day for two days, then 4 tablets a day for two days, then 3 tablets a day for 2 days, then 2 tablets a day for 2 days, then 1 tablet a day for two days, then 1/2 a tablet a day for two days. ## You should follow the instructions exactly as on the label, tapering is essential to prevent complications from withdrawing too fast, since this is a steroid class medication. You can take them all at once, or split them up throughout the day, taking them all at once may cause more side effects, such as nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache.
