I've just been diagnosed with Sciatica and they gave me Prednisone (1 a day for 5 days) and Paragon 500mg (1 by mouth 4 times a day). I'm still in very bad pain. Which one of these medications is better for me? ## Hello, Cathy! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Paragon is the name of a pharmaceutical company, not a medication. Can you please check the label and post back with more details, or possibly the markings on the pills? The FDA classifies Prednisone as a steroid, in cases such as yours, it is usually used to treat inflammation. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, fluid retention, and weight gain.

I am very sweaty. Think i need to up my dose of Prednisone but dont know by how much. Can u pls help me. ## Hello, Cathy! How are feeling? Those could also be just side effects from the Fentanyl patch, which might be why the extra fluids didn't help. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Do you have a blood pressure monitor to check with, when this happens? ## Dear Verwon, thank you for your help. I think you are right that it is the Fentanyl. I will invest in a Blo...

Can taking pulmison and celestemine during early pregnancy affect the baby? ## Hello, LisaE! How are you? Congratulations on the baby! :-) No, these should not be taken during pregnancy, due to the corticosteroids that are in them, Prednisone and Betamethasone, both have been classified by the FDA as being in pregnancy category C, because they've been unable to rule out there being any risk. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, acne, irritability and insomnia. If you need to take something for allergy symptoms, it would be best to speak to your doctor to find out what is safe for you. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had 2 cataract surgeries last year. The second one the first part of Nov. 2014, both times the Prednisone left me weak. But I recovered quickly. The middle of Nov. I had my heart shocked to restore proper rytrhym. After that I started taking flecanide. 3 months later. I kept getting physically weaker & finally figured out it was the Flecanide causing this. I quit taking it & felt better immediatly. I am not recuperating. light excercise exhausts me. So I'm not getting stronger. Don"t know what to do. ## Hello, Ron! How are you feeling? I'm very sorry about the problems you're having. Is your doctor aware that you stopped taking the Flecainide? The FDA lists it as being used to treat or prevent irregular heart beat. Its typical side effects may possibly include ...

Hi I Was prescibed Trolic 5mg (Take 4 tablets once a 1) And Erythromycin Strearate 250mg (Take 1 tablet 4 times a day) After I Had An Asthma Attack. Is It Safe To Take Paracetamol tablets with thi, cause it gives me a trerrible tession headache as well as tightens my head jaws and neck. ## Hi Sherwin, Sorry to hear about your situation. Based on my research, There are no drug interactions listed between Paracetamol and Erythromycin/Trolic. So you should be fine in that regard. On the other hand, there ARE interactions between Erythromycin and Trolic (Prednisone). Apparently taking the two together can catalyze the effects and levels of prednisone in your blood. This, in turn, can significantly increase your risk of certain side effects (perhaps even leading to those symptoms that you...
