Prednicare

## my dog has been diagnosed with pancreatitis and has high liver enzymes she has been on synulox and prednicare she has to stay on prednicare for the rest of her life she gets very poorly about every 2months so i wanted to know what prednicare does as when she falls poorly again i am having her put down as i feel it is not fair to let her suffer anymore she is also on l/d prescription diet. she is always hungry and drinks ecsessivelly. ## I am sorry to hear about your dog. is it ok to use prednicare tablets that are dated 20/8/2010 for my dogs swollen paw she had the same condition last year ## I'd suggest talking to your veterinarian. I am not familiar with the use of medications in animals, but I can tell you that this contains Prednisolone. It's a steroid class medication and most of them lose effectiveness over time. Thus, there is a chance it may not work as well and her swelling might not be from the same thing that it was previously. my cat fudge is 12yr and just found out she has lukemia she has to take 2.5mg of prednicare daily she has good days and very bad days she gets so stressed am taking her pill and she is off her food and doesnt seem able today to clean herself as i had to clean her bum for her today and all night she just kept returning to the litter tray is there anything i can do to help her eat ect as i refuse to put her to sleep all the time she seems to have a little fight left but its breaking my heart any advice would be a god send

My lhasa apso has just been diagnosed with Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. Thie is where is red blood cells are being destroyed by his own body. He has had a transfusion of Oxyglobin which is an artificial blood product to shut down his immune system then is was restarted with steroids. This all happened as of yesterday, he is now on 8 Prednicare a day for a week , reducing to half the dose for the subsequent 3 weeks. We can see an improvement already in his blood count, appetite and condition. I have the utmost faith in my vet regarding this drug. He clearly told us that Vinney's appetite would improve, he would drink and urinate more and that these were the short term side affects.
