Having surgery and I need to know if any of the following have blood thinners in them: sertraline, omeprazole, benazepril, atorvastatin, or hydrochlorothiazide? ## Hi Ron, Just for your information: - Sertraline is an antidepressant - Omeprazole is for acid reflux / heart burn - Benazepril is an ACE inhibitor used for hypertension - Atorvastatin is used to lower cholesterol - Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic Of the meds that are mentioned above, none are classified as anticoagulants - HOWEVER - Benazepril reportedly works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. So this is something I would encourage you to discuss with your surgeon ahead of time - just to be on the safe side. I hope this helps!

Can improper dosing of hydrocodone be fatal to a 12 year old girl who has never taken any type of drug ever? What would happen if she took too many tablets all at once? Please, somebody help! ## Hello, Anabel! How are you? Of course it can. Hydrocodone is a narcotic, so taking too much, at any age, risks overdose. It's just that the risk is lower for someone that is opiate tolerant. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If you're worried that a child took too many, you should seek emergency medical attention for them. Is there anything else I can help with?

Thanks ## Ferrous Sulfate is an iron supplement, the FDA lists its most common side effects as possibly including nausea, constipation, and dark stool. I was given Amiodarone as a precaution June of last year after open heart surgery. Even after two personal visits each (the heart surgeon and the attending pulmonary doctor). I made it very clear to each of them not to give me any medication that could affect my asthma. I started having serious breathing issues within three days of my surgery that became progressively worse. I complained daily and begged for Prednisone which they refused to give me. I had stopped this poisonous drug after five weeks, but the damage was done. Amiodarone can stay in the cells of your body for several months continuously doing damage to your lungs and more. It ruined my life! ## Hello, Ken! How are you doing? I am very sorry about what you've been through, that's terrible. Unfortunately, when presc...
