Just input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if they are accepting new patients; as some aren't, but most usually are. I have dealt with chronic pain for years (2002). I have been meticulous about taking meds as prescribed, believing my PA wouldn't steer me wrong. For 8 years, I took 10/325 hydrocodone, six times a day.. It damn near killed me-not the opiate, but the Tylenol-1950 mgs a day. i changed doctors so I could get opiates w/o all the clutter of Tylenol. I was worried I would become a drooling junkie, waiting to rob a drug store. My new doctor started me on 15 mg Oxycodone (breakthrough) and two 60 mg Oxycontin; eventually increased to three 30 mg Oxycodone and three 60 mg time release Oxycontin. I've gone through a spinal cord stimulator implant, which has helped. I've been on same dose of meds since the implant in 2011. I make it work. sure, sometimes it would be nice to take an extra

I am currently taking Verapamil 300mg, lisinopril 20mg and avalide 300mg. Can i take propoxyph darv-n 100 with these meds? ## My perscription is propox/apap 100/650 1 or two tabs every 4 hours as needed. Other meds arel lovastatin, lotrel, hctz with one 325mg aspirin each day. Is this OK with the opiate above? ## I think the primary concern here would be the APAP, which stands for Acetaminophen, being coupled with the Aspirin that you are already taking. These can both result in blood thinning and combining the two could cause stomach irritation and ulcers. Using it in conjunction with the blood pressure meds means that some extra monitoring of your BP and pulse rate should be done, while you are using, since it can cause depression of these bodily cycles, which means you could end up wit...

I have been prescibed oxycodone for pain from 3 surgeries. I have worked for my company for almost 7 years. I recently moved to atlanta and now im being told that I cannot work if im taking pain meds even though it has been prescribed by my doctor and I have used it for the past 5 years and never had an issue until now. Can they do that or does the law covers me can anyone help. ## Help, Jbliss! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. Much of it really depends on what your job entails. There are certain jobs that are considered unsafe to perform under the influence of such medications, even if a doctor has ordered them, such as driving a truck, operating heavy machinery, or supervising those that do. There are some legal protections, but they don't apply in all ...

In Florida an epidemic of overdose, overprescribing, drug rings coming from other states, Florida needed some regulation. Now Dr.s are scared to prescribe opiate pain meds to those who have debilitating conditions. Then you actually find a Dr to prescribe then you have pharmacy filling issues. Please anyone share info with me and others and Dr. S or PM CLINICS anywhere in Fl..thanking you in advance

I am 52 I have been in sever lower back pain with pain radiating down my legs for two years now have taken over counter med and seen nurse practioners most doctors will not even seen you now days need any kind help. ice daily and chiropractor made it worst. ## I had the begginings of spinal stenosis and arthritis in the sacroiliac area. Opioids have been the least of all evils for pain relief. We have tried with various anti inflammatories. Those wreaked havoc on my kidneys. I was just informed by my PCP that this will be the last month she can help me with my monthly opioids. I am scared to death and sick at my stomach. I have suffered from depression in the past and this type of pain killer gave me a sense of normalcy. She wants to refer me to a pain clinic. I have heard and read horr...

I am taking Amlidopine and Bisoprolol for hypertension. I developed a rash on both ankles and a psoriasis like rash on my bottom. It is getting better after stopping bisoprolol for a week, but blood pressure is rising. what alternatives do I have? ## Hello, Aubrie! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. There are many other options available for treating high blood pressure, including some in the same drug class, which as listed by the FDA is beta blockers, such as Metoprolol, Propranolol, Atenolol Nebivolol. Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, increased urination and hypotension. Have you discussed the problem with your doctor? They should be able to prescribe an alternative to replace it. ## I have t...

Hi. I really don't know where to start but I'll give it a shot anyway. This is going to take a while so stick with me if you can. I am a 38 year old man now who was diagnosed with Osteo Chonritis Dissicans in 1986 when I was 11 year old. From the age of 23 to present day I have had 17 knee operations 10 on my right 7 on the left. I was on 100 mg voltarol a day for 17 years until last year when I went into Acute Renal Failure twice as a result of the voltarol even though id been to my gp several times before going into renal failure telling him i was not feeling well and for him to change my meds. It fell upon deaf ears. Now over the last 25 years have been on various painkillers from co dydramol, codine phosphate co codamol then my DHC dehydracodine and then tramadol. When I was...

Hello!!! This is a question for my mother, not me. She doesn't know how to use 'Net. She is in her late 40's and has horrible anxiety, and chronic pain [endo, back problems, cervix problems, fibroid, currently has sprained/bruised rib, and her uterus is backwards from giving birth to me, good job, me!] She was on oxycodone 7.5 but she lost one of her pain specialists because they accused her of "stealing" a bottle of oxys that were supposed to be for her upcoming surgery [hysterectomy] but we had problems w/insurance. They wouldn't cover the surgery but she had already filled the pills, so they said she stole them even though she said she'd give them back, but they said no, you shouldn't have filled them in the first place. So she got kicked out. Anyways,...

My mother in law doctor retired and wrote her a script for a 30 day supply of 80 oc's and she can not get in to see her new doctor till july, she has a print out of six months showing that she has been on the meds, where in the Knoxville area is a doctor who will see her on short notice and refill her script for 30 days till she see's her new doctor? I can not bear to see her go thru withdraw ## It is going to be very hard to find a doctor to prescribe them as just a one time thing, with her not being their regular patient. It is highly possible that her new doctor won't want to prescribe them, regardless of the medical records she has. Does anyone have any ideas? ## Does anyone know of any physicians or pain clinics in south orange county that will Prescribe opiates (norco,...

I had a wreck in my vehicle and tested positive for alcohol and now I'm unable to get prescribed any narcotics in TN, which I've been on for years, due to the notes from the hospital that treated me. Could I drive to another state and become a PM patient there? Looking for objective answers, not negative comments. ## Go down to the corner and score some, like everyone else that the government forced on people who need them!! ## I'm not going to condone this but Snoopy snoop has a point. Apparently, here in SC and almost every other state in the union, has an "Opioid Crisis". True, I believe it is exaggerated by the government, I haven't figured out for whose benefit yet. I was told, by a doctor, that the only way anyone will receive a steady narcotic or opioid pr...

I live in Ky and been on pain meds probably 13 yrs but recently I was gave a script for tyneol 3 by my gastric dr and he knew I had a family dr prescribing loratab 10's but I filled the script for tyneol 3 and my family dr run a kasper on me called me and told me she can no longer write me any controlled substance scripts is this true? please help I am desperate ! ## Hello, I think your best option would be to ask your doctor why she can no longer write the prescriptions you need. What she prescribes is at her own discretion and if she says that she can't write a prescription for a certain medication, then she is allowed to do so. Maybe a new law was passed in your state that won't allow her or other doctors to prescribe certain medications. In the mean time, have you ever t...

Hi, I had a work injury back in 2012 and now have three herniated discs and nerve problems. I have been to pain management who have done injections and radiofrequency ablations but with little success. I can't take Ibuprofen due to a bypass and reflux issues and tylenol doesn't help. I was being given Vicodin but now no doctor will prescribe it due to all the new laws and problems with abuse and addiction. I have been faithful to my primary and pain management doctor and even have my insurance on board to make sure I am a faithful patient and not an abuser. So I am in desperate need to find a doctor who doesn't tell me to go home, put ice, heat and rest or take tylenol. I have tried all the options besdes surgery which I was told wasn't the best option due to my age. Ple...

I have 3 ruptured discs with nerve damage on both sides of my back. Iam in pain 24/7. I've been to 3 neurosurgions and 2 Orthopedic surgeons. I've been to 3 physical therapist and 3 pain specialist who say I need surgery but no one will touch me they say its to risky and they send me back to pain management but they only send me to physical therapy. My family dr wont write for pain meds neither will all the other docs I've seen. I need help. Iam always in pain and it makes me depressed. ## Hi Sharon, I'm really sorry to hear about what you're going through. 1. Limit yourself to one pharmacy and one prescriber of any narcotic. If you have another Dr. That's OK with you staying with another, I suggest you mention the drug or at least be honest about your mixing medicines and prescibers. Most will check you for polydrug use. If you break the covenant about getting controlled drugs from many sources chances as they will drop you as a patient. Also, the RPh may alert the staff of your dishonesty. Always give 24 hours notice at least on refill requests. The problem is with obtaining over the maximum allowable amount of controlled Rx's is the possibility of divertion or addiction and before you know it, your consumption no longer controls your cause of pain. The pain killers may mask the reason you have tbe distress and pain. Then, you have

I’ve been on and off pain meds for many years. I just moved to Fort Smith, Ar and need a doctor who will prescribe me pain meds without acetaminophen. Ones like morphine, OxyContin, or dilaudid. I know with the opioid epidemic doctors are more reluctant than ever to prescribe these drugs, but I need them and don’t want to “doctor shop”. Any recommendations please?

I have lower back pain deg fiscs none of the surgeons recommend this surgery however none will prescribe pain meds anyone in springfield massachusetts ## Hi Jessi, Surgery is the last option, if you only have pain in your lower back, surgery will not help. Have you and your doctor talked about muscle relaxers, like Soma or Flexeril? There are many non surgical that can help a lot. Seeing an OT doctor works wonders, using a TENS unit, steroids by mouth. (I've had 7 back surgeries ) Good Luck!

Hello! If anyone can help I would be so thankful! My husband is looking for a doctor that will prescribe pain meds for his back pain. I must explain that he is only looking for something to get him through while going through physical therapy. He does not like taking pills and his ultimate goal is to recover through PT and be med free. His doctor gave him tramadol and it works on his better days, but it is the days the pain flares that he is in need of something stronger. He tried several different non opiate meds that she prescribed but none have worked. The doctor just refuses to give even a small script for the days that are unbearable. She is against the addictive stuff and that is understandable, but this situation is life altering and quite miserable! We live in Waterford and have...
