However, what dose did she prescribe for you? Are there any markings on the tablets? Can I take Aleve and oxycodone 15 mgs together ## Hello, Tina! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, so that should be okay, as long as your doctor approves. In some people the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory in Aleve may potentiate the action of the Oxycodone, so you may experience more potent side effects. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. The side effects for Aleve are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Please help me. I suffer pain all the time from my Fibromyalgia to my disc and back problems. The doctor had me on Percocet10/350 mg and switched me to Oxycodone HCL10 mg. little pink pills that don't work and Morphine Sulf ER 15 mg littleblue pills. I'm getting NO relief. What should I take? I'm at my wits end with pain. Almost no generic pills don't work. What can I do? Please help me!! Thank you ## If your doctor approves it, you may be able to take Acetaminophen/Tylenol with it to help get back some of the prior pain relief that you had, since it potentiates the action of the narcotics. Have you contacted them about the problem, yet? How long have you been taking the new medications? ## i am on lyrica 100mg and ocycodone 10/325 for my fibromyalgia been on it for awhi...

...if the acetaminophen in Percocet enhances its action? I just had surgery for bone spurs and was given oxy, 5mgs. For some reason I thought that oxy would be stronger--I think I heard it somewhere--but now that just seems wrong. For that matter, why prescribe Percocet, given the liver implications, and instead just give people oxy and tell them they may carefully and occasionally supplement it with NSAIDS? ## Hello, Tristan! How are you? Yes, the Acetaminophen potentiates the action of the Oxycodone, for some people. It doesn't work for everyone. Oxycodone by itself works better for some people and, if you look at the FDA information on it, you'll see that it is also available in higher doses that are in different formations, including a time released one for better pain contr...

i found a pink round pill with k56 on it is it the same as percocet? ## No, they are not the same. Percocet contains both Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. The Acetaminophen potentiates the action of the Oxycodone to help better control pain. And this tablet with the K 56 marking just contains 10mgs of Oxycodone by itself, in a regular release formulation. You can learn more Percocet details here and you can learn more Oxycodone details here. Both are narcotic opiates, so they have the potential to be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, they are different, due to the addition of the Acetaminophen in the Percocet. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Which one is stronger percocet or k56 ## Stronger? If ...

Check a pharm scale the oxy is like 6 or 7 on th list morphine is 2 ! ## hydromorphine 32mgEX what do they use for breakthrew pain..? ## Actually no, Oxycodone is stronger than Morphine by one and a half times. In other words for each 10mg dosage of Oxycodone, you'd need to take 15mgs of Morphine to be equivalent. You can learn more Morphine details here and you can learn more Percocet details here. Additionally, the Acetaminophen in the Percocet potentiates the action of the Oxycodone to help it work better. oldtimefiend, there isn't any specific medication that has to be us...

I have severe arthritis in my neck and a herniated L4 and L5 disc for which I am taking 20 mg of oxycodone. I would like to find out if I can take 800mg of ibuprofen with 20 mg of oxycodone at the same time? ## They can be taken together, as long as your doctor approves, but the Ibuprofen might potentiate the effect of the Oxycodone, which could result in your experiencing more side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

How many 5/325 oxycodone/acetaminophen equals 80mg of oxycontin? ## Hello, Hank! How are you? Oycodone is also the active ingredient in Oxycontin, so you'd need 80mgs of it to be equal, though likely a little less to account for the Acetaminophen, since it potentiates it. However, you'd have to take far too much of it to be safe, because 16 tablets would equal 5,200mgs of Acetaminophen, which exceeds the toxic amount. You can't take more than 3,000mgs of it a day, or you risk fatal toxicity. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Which one has been prescribed for you?

im sorry i had wrong dose its 10-325 oxycodone-acetaminophen and morphine sulfate ir 30 mg ## Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so if you were taking the 30mgs of Morphine and wanted to switch to Oxycodone, you'd only need 15mgs of the Oxycodone. You can learn more Morphine details here and you can learn more Percocet details here. And, in this case, since you're asking about a generic for Percocet, the Acetaminophen needs to be taken under consideration, because that actually potentiates the action of the Oxycodone, making it stronger, so you may be looking at a different of an additional 2mgs efficacy strength, give or take. Is there anything else I can help with? ## People respond differently to different doses of pain medications. So the relative equa...

my son has fever, just took 5mg of oxycodone, is it safe to take tylenol? ## Hello, Melody! How is your son doing? Yes, the tablet you mentioned only contains Oxycodone, so he should be able to take Tylenol, as long as it's okay with his doctor. However, it can potentiate the Oxycodone, which is why you need to check with his doctor, first. Is there anything else I can help with?

One of the contraindications while taking Neurontin is using opiates such as Hydrocodone (Vicodin) and Oyxcodone (Percocet). The opiates potentiate the effect of Neurotin by 14%. With Morphine, it increases the effect of Neurotin by 44%. My husband was on Neurontin at 900 mg a day (taken in three doses). At that time, he was not taking much of his pain killer, Oxycodone (Percocet), maybe one 5mg dose a night. My husband was originally took Neurotin for shingles nerve pain. His doctor decided to increase his dose of Neurontin to 1800 mg per day (three equal doses). Before that time, my husband increased his Oxycodone to two 5mg tablets before bedtime and another 5mg tablet about four hours later. Upon the increase in Neurontin, my husband started to experience some adverse effects. These...

I have a pill that says 10 and also says oxy under it. Can I take acetaminophen with it ## Hello, Snoopy! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Pro Doc and they list it as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone. The U.S. FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Yes, you can take Acetaminophen with it, if your doctor approves, but you shouldn't take it otherwise, because it can potentiate the efficacy of the Oxycodone. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking 10mg Percocet for about 10 years. My doc has just prescribed the oxy part of it without Tylenol for the first time but it gives me severe headaches. Why is that and will the headaches go away? Do I need to go back to with Tylenol. Also my doc has suggested using methadone instead of the oxycodone. What are your thoughts on that, Thank you ## Hello, Colleen! How are you? The headaches may be due to a bit of a withdrawal effect. The Acetaminophen/Tylenol in it actually potentiates the efficacy of the Oxycodone, so a switch to just 10mgs of Oxycodone is actually a slight lowering of your dose. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As to the Methadone, jump...

I am currently prescribed oxycodone, seroquel xr, pristiq, requip, and ambien. I recently had a urine test come back positive for benzodiazepines. Is there anything you see that would cause this? ## probably because it potentiates GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter, by binding to GABAA receptors at the same location as benzodiazepines? ## probably AMBIEN potentiates GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter, by binding to GABAA receptors at the same location as benzodiazepines? ## probably because AMBIEN potentiates GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter, by binding to GABAA receptors at the same location as benzodiazepines? ## Almost certain it would be the ambian as it technically falls into the benzo category for medications.
