I just got poison ivy on my ankle. Will amoxicilin help that? ## No, amoxicillin is an antiboitic and is used for infections. You need something like benadryl or calamine lotion. Something to help with the itch and allergic reaction. ## Your best bet, if this is the first time you have caught it, is to see your doctor for an evaluation. The medication you can use for it, will be based on the severity or your reaction to it. You should never try to self treat or self diagnose. ## I once had a reaction to a mosqito bite and the doctor prescribed benadryl to me so I think that would be your best bet. but I'm not sure. you should talk to your doctor ## Please give me right poison name i can understand to right poison name

An antidote is a substance which can counteract a form of poisoning.[1] The term ultimately derives from the Greek αντιδιδοναι antididonai, "given against". The antidotes for some particular toxins are manufactured by injecting the toxin into an animal in small doses and extracting the resulting antibodies from the host animals' blood. This results in an antivenom that can be used to counteract poison produced by certain species of snakes...

what is this pill? One side says "SCI", and the other side is just.."4" ## Where was it found/obtained? Was it in the U.S. or elsewhere? I'm not finding this listed in the U.S. prescription drug databases and have never seen this marking, before. With that marking, it leads me to suspect that it may be something that is available over the counter, but there is also a chance that it could be a foreign medication. Does anyone recognize this tablet? ## Help? Anyone? My child just found a bag of these and ate one. Not sure what it is! ## Becca, anytime that your child, or anyone else, takes something that is unidentified, you should call your nearest poison control or emergency services. There are some prescription medications on the U.S. market with the SCI marking, but...

I believe that Phentermine, and Qsymia are poisons. Sure they help you lose weight but the long-term side effects and trade-offs are not worth the risk. When I originally took Phentermine I lost almost eighty pounds over a two-year period. I continued to take it for almost ten more years in order to maintain my weight until I was finally hospitalized because the Phentermine had debilitated me. I was unable to sleep despite the fact that I was always exhausted and I was plagued with nightmares and unable to sustain long periods of exercise such as tidying up the house or even taking a walk. I was constantly depressed and too weak to really take charge and do anything about it. I was also always constipated and noticed a constant metallic taste in my mouth. Because so many nutrients and p...

cream in tube ## What has been prescribed? In most cases, these types of skin reactions are treated with a steroid, such as Betamethasone, which helps reduce the inflammation, and alleviate the immune response. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation, and flaking. Has a doctor confirmed that it is poison oak?

I was given levaquin post pneumonia to combat another suspected respiratory infection. Within two weeks every joint in my body hurt. That lasted 8 weeks. During that time I experienced a vitreo macular separation in my right eye. Soon after this my hair began to fall out. I lost about 50% of it. My symptoms have subsided but I realize I am one of the lucky ones. This drug is toxic to so many people. I have taken cipro in the past with no ill effect but levaquin put me over the edge. Never again. My heart goes out to those who continue to suffer. ## Hello, Makkay! How are you doing, now? I'm very sorry about what you went through. Actually, from the posts I've read on here over the past year, it seems many more people are starting to have bad reactions to various antibiotics. I...

A friend took a pill from a guy and he said it was a "painkiller". The pill was white with numbers on it and when she put it in her mouth and it touched her saliva, it turned red. She threw the rest in the toilet and they also turned red when they touched the water... Later on that day she fainted and was sent to the hospital where they made her puke most of it out but still not sure if it's out of her bloodstream..does anyone know what it might be??? ## Dear Katherine, Sorry to hear about what happened to your friend. I suppose there's no way of knowing for sure what it is without a chemical analysis of some sort. There may also be no way of knowing if this chemical is what caused her to fall ill or if it was something else in the tablet's composition. However, my r...

What is Vitamin A made of? Can it cause poisoning? ## There are actually several things it may be derived from, so it depends on which supplement you purchase. It is also naturally available in many foods. And yes, it can cause toxicity, but only if someone takes extremely large amounts, so one should never exceed the recommended dosage or RDA, as listed by the FDA. Is there anything else I can help with?

my 2yr daughter swaolled ecosprin tablet. what is the remedy? ## Any time you feat for the life or health of a family member, you should immediately call whatever poison control facility is available to you or proceed to an emergency care facility. Ecosprin contains Aspirin and the reason it can be dangerous to children under 12 is due to the possibility of their developing Reyes syndrome, if they have a cold or flu. Have you contacted her doctor, yet? It is very important that she be checked out for this.

In July of 2017, i was admitted in the hospital for fluid overload, (I am on dialysis) my primary doctor was there and ordered xrays for my chest and had said my chest was clear and he left. But the other residents lied to me and said that i had pneumonia. And they proceeded to give me bags of levoflaxacin through if. Since I've been home, i am experiencing a strange discharge, my jaw is swollen on my left side, i had high blood pressure, lupus, pacemaker and on dialysis. It is October and have not taken one blood pressure pill because my pressure drops significantly during dialysis, i believe it is because of the levoflaxacin. I was given medication that i did not want or need and i guess that this is ok because I am powerless to do anything about this. I am angry because I am stil...

I started taking a 10 day prescription for Nitrofurantoin at 6 months pregnant for a UTI almost 4 weeks ago. Eight or nine days into taking it, my heart rate went up to 173. For about 14 hours it fluctuated above 145. Three days after that went away, I got a pressure headache that felt like someone was squeezing my head and broke out in hives. A few days following that I ended up having severe joint and muscle pain, stiff ankles, my heels feel like they are on fire. And I CANNOT walk! The pain is excruciating. It hurts to sit, stand, and especially walk. The headache went away, the rapid pulse, and the rash is getting better, but the tremendous joint pain remains. It hurts so bad at times I just cry! I pray that the baby is ok. I usually use cranberry extract and natural cures, but this...

Can a heart patient take Benadryl for poison ivy iching and burning?..I am unable to sleep with the iching. Can you tell me what to take?. ## Ask your doctor about Chlobetasol Proprianate. It was originally an excema cream. I swear by it. I can stand outside and if the wind blows on poison ivy, I get it. If you can use cortisone cream, you should be able to use this. It is the only thing that works for me. ## Hello, Brad! How are you doing? My cardiologist approved of my taking Benadryl, when needed, however, it can also depend on what other medications you are taking, so it is always best to check with your doctor, first. However, if you post back with the names of your other medications, I can also check for interactions for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Benadryl as p...

I would like to know the name of all the meds that work to treat poison ivy. Will cephalexin 500 mg or ciprofloxacin 500 mg work? ## No, these are antibiotics that are used to treat bacterial infections. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Poison ivy is actually an allergic reaction, so you may need a steroid to treat it, as well as an antihistamine, according to FDA reports. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

White, round pill. 54 879 imprint on one side and a line on other side. I have had prescription pain meds for years, I know what bitter is, but this one had a taste so bad I spit it out immediately and it burned slightly. The taste stayed for about fifteen minutes. It also made my other pills smell really bad like a poison bad smell. . It was like nothing I ever smelled or tasted before. I had it in my mouth about 2 seconds, no water and out it came and the imprint was gone it seemed very fragile and abnormally thick. So is it Fake? Poison? Or is that how they taste I have never had one before. ## Hello, Ivy! How are you? I am very sorry about the symptoms you experienced.
