Pneumovax 23 Pneumococcal Vaccine, Polyvalent

Pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPSV)—known as Pneumovax 23 (PPV-23)—is the first pneumococcal vaccine derived from a capsular polysaccharide, and an important landmark in medical history[according to whom?]. The polysaccharide antigens were used to induce type-specific antibodies that enhanced opsonization, phagocytosis, and killing of Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumococcal) bacteria by phagocytic immune cells. Blue Pill oblong with capital letter PNE... Type "Desenfriol-D Mexico", you will see the picture. It's an over the counter cold medicine in Mexico. ## Hi Ana, Thanks for the heads up on this pill ID. Many foreign tablets from outside of the US can be difficult to pinpoint since there are little to no references available online at this time. So being able to rely on good people like yourself to post details on these types of pills is truly a great thing and perhaps our best bet (as a community for keeping everyone informed); next to a lab analysis or simply canning it due to not finding any clues at all. To other readers: Desenfriol-D reportedly contains a combination of: Chlorpheniramine maleate 2mg + Phenylephrine hydrochloride 5mg + Paracetamol 500mg It has also been stat...

Blue oval pill with pne imprint on one side ## Hi marie, Based on the description provided, I did find a photograph suggesting that it may be a medication by the name of "Desienfriol-D 24Tab" that originates from Mexico. Desienfriol reportedly contains: Clorfenamina (2mg) + Fenilefrina (5mg) + Paracetamol (500mg). Apparently it's marketed for similar uses as Mucinex is here in the States. Another individual had also depicted their Desienfriol as being elliptical (oval) & blue with PNE on one side, and I haven't seen anything else quite like it, so this is the best match I could locate in my own investigation. Hope this helps! ## I have 2 PNE pills but don't know how to send a picture

I have an orangish/peach pill with PNE on one side and nothing on the other. It’s round. I got it in Cozumel Mexico. Any ideas? ## Did you figure out what this pill is. I too bought some in Cozumel and still am wondering ## Hello Tom, Identifying foreign pills can be extremely difficult as some of them do not have readily available pill identification tools due to their manufacturing practices not requiring imprints. Fortunately I was able to search around the forums and found another thread that discussed a similar pill but blue. In this thread Ana claims that this medication is Desenfriol-D. By searching for this drug on google through this name I was able to find another Desenfriol-D Mexico pill that has the same imprint but is an orange color and round, it does show however th...

I have been sick for a week. I have been coughing a lot & wheezing. I have a lot of phlegm but can't cough it up. I started using essential oils & it seems to be helping some. Could I have pneumonia? ## It is possible, however, there are also other possibilities, according to the NIH, such as a cold, asthma, congestive heart failure, bronchitis, and etc. However, only your doctor can give you a definitive diagnosis. And regardless of which condition might be causing these symptoms, essential oils are not going to cure it. Viruses will have to run to their course, and other conditions will require medical treatment. Has there been any change? ## please go see a doctor. they can listen to lungs and get an xray to see if you have pneumonia. that's what they did for me and i...

However I am still short of breath and have some discomfort in my chest. Is this just part of the recovery. process? Do you recommend another antibiotic? ## I'd think that after having it for several months, it would take awhile for you to recover, especially since your lungs weren't able to operate at full capacity for awhile. Learn more pneumonia details here. If the infection isn't present any longer, then another round of antibiotics isn't going to do you any good. Have you talked to your doctor about these issues?

Is this too much antibiotics? ## Hello, Ruth! How are you feeling? I'm sorry that you're ill. No, multiple antibiotics are often prescribed, in the case of severe infections, to try to get the bacteria under control, so it can be eradicated as fast as possible.
