My doctor is transferring me off of Norvasc (which has worked great to keep my blood pressure under control) to Plendil because of a change in medications covered by my HMO. Has anyone else changed to Plendil and would you share with me if it worked as well as your former medication? ## Same thing happened to me, except in reverse. I had been tanking Plendil for years with great success. The Military Pharmacy switch to Norvasc. When I asked my Doctor, he said they were interchangable. ## You can safely switch from one to the other, as long as your doctor approves, and the dosage has been taken under careful consideration. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. I've had to change medications mult...

My mother was taken off of Plendil and placed on Micardis several months ago. Since then, she has had several falls, and the last two, she states she felt as if she blacked out before she fell. She is 81 years old, but this has been recent and I was wondering if the medication change may be a contributing factor. ## Micardis contains the active ingredient Telmisartan, it is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. Yes, it can cause dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, and general hypotension (low blood pressure) as side effects, so it could be causing, or contributing to her falling. Other side effects may include increase urination, and headache. Is there on any other medications? Is her doctor aware of the falls? Even if a fall didn't require...

I have taken Plendil for more than 15 years along with Accupril. I am having problems with my kidney and wondered if stopping Plendil would be a wise move. There are other drugs that I am also taking that are not good for the kidneys so I just trying to see which of the ones I could change the easiest, Allopurinol is for my gout and I know that is a bad one for the kidney but am not sure I can taken anything else for that. Could you please write me back. Thank you. Just wanted to run these past my Doctor. ## What has your doctor advised? Plendil contains Felodipine, it is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac problems. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. It is not, however, known to really...

Age 88 female with pacemaker, has bp of 130 /50... Is low diastolic a problem?? Meds are 40 mg Micardis and twice a day of 5 mg Plendil. Has sciatic nerve problem. Taking .5 mg of clonazepam nightly to sleep. ## It really depends on whether or not it is causing you any symptoms, according to the NIH, such as dizziness, headache, or fainting. Are you experiencing any such symptoms? I also take blood pressure medications and my cardiologist told me that there was no need to worry, unless you are experiencing such problematic symptoms.

whitepill rlly flat or skinny wide no scores but imprinted F1 on top. taste bitter. pressed but alittle crumbly any iideas as to what this is? ## Some Tylenol tabs have a very similar description. (my opinion) ## Hi Khal, The closest match I've been able to locate is Felodipine extended release (2.5 mg). It is a round white pill with the imprint F11 on one side and M on the other. Maybe the other imprints got smudged off? If this isn't your pill it could be an OTC medication, since imprints on OTC medications can often be quite vague... Manufacturer: Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc.
