And how long am I still gona see these spotting since I've stopped using it? ## It may take about 3 months, or so, for your body to balance things back out on its own, according to the NIH. You may also experience headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. If it gets worse, or doesn't stop, you should have it checked out. Is there anything else I can help with?

My marriage is in 2 days and my menstrual cycle started in spite of taking medicine to temporarily stop it. What to do? I'm concerned. ## The best method to stop your period is to take contraceptives or birth control. Before you take you should see your gynecologist or local doctor who will give you advice on which type will ideal suit your requirements. Your doctor will describe what to be expecting, what dosage to take, and also any risks involved. Birth control pills inhibit fertilization and ovulation. They can be in a patch form, IV or oral. The best way to stop periods is to use oral contraceptives in pill form. These pills must be taken one cycle before the period that you do not want to have. When consumed on a regular basis as directed, you will stop getting periods. Once y...

Wat to travel to North hence wanted to prepone my periods. ## Hi Swathi, When it comes to medications that can alter the timing of your menstrual cycle, this typically involves the use of hormonal contraceptives. These are prescribed by your doctor or gynecologist. I don't recall the exact dosing protocols that make this possible, but taking the active/inactive pills at certain intervals may either prepone or postpone periods. As far as choosing a medication, I often hear about Loestrin Fe and Sprintec birth control tablets being used in such a manner. However, your prescriber should be able to give you specific instructions that allow you to tailor the timing of your period to your individual needs with whatever brand of contraceptive he/she sees fit. I hope this helps!

Here is my story. I'm 35 and have always had odd or no periods. I do have pcos and had endometriosis. The end of October this year I had a d & c and a hysto-something to clear me out and run diagnostics. Then started the medroxy for 10 days on the 16th of November. Just started my period on the 4th and it seems to be just like all my other past ones. Like I'm dying. If it stays like this do I start my next medroxy round on the 16th still? Before the d & c I hadn't had a period for well over a year and a half. Most of my periods that I have had normally last for 6 weeks to 3 months. Again like I'm dying. I'm working on all this to finally start my family. So any help is good help. ## Hello, Moni! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're having....

Earlier this year, I found out I have hypothyroidism. I went to my doctor over some weird periods that would wind up doing things like not coming for three months and then bleeding nonstop for three months. I got my thyroid levels tested twice and with a final TSH of 14.5, my gyno put me on 25 mcg of Levothyroxine (she was going to do Synthroid, but since my insurance was going to expire, I asked for the generic). After being on it one month, I was retested and my TSH went down to 5.07. Doctor said it was close enough to normal and that I'd be sticking to that dose long-term, and then I got a three month supply of pills. I didn't feel different whatsoever after taking the pills, even after I'd finished off the bottle. I suppose it's good I had no side effects, but I also...

I am 23 years old. I havent got my periods for over 3 months now. I took several pregnancy tests but all of them were negative. Which medicine should I take in order to get periods. Please help I'm really worried due to this. ## Hi, Nim! It really isn't harmful to miss periods, unless you want to get pregnant, they really aren't necessary. There are even contraceptives that women can take which allow them to skip periods for months at a time. There are many reasons it could happen, such as stress, malnutrition, a hormonal imbalance and others. The important thing is to see a doctor, so they can look into the issue, in case it's due to something serious. But skipping a period, in and of itself, isn't harmful. Hi there, pls help. I have been on my periods for almost 3 months now. Most of the time they a very lite. I was fine until I started taking a 2 month contraceptive inj for prevention.
