Another brand name is Ativan, which is more geared towards relaxing and relieving anxiety. Hi everyone. I'm just wondering which medication most of you consider to be the best sleep aid? Of course I've heard of the ever popular Ambien, Lunesta, etc. There are also over the counter products such as Tylenol PM and Advil PM which combine Diphenhydramine with Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen respectively. Lastly, there are certain natural treatments to help one sleep such as Melatonin. I'm looking for a consensus as to which one you think would be the most effective with the least side effects. Any thoughts appreciated!

Small round white "sleeping" pill from Pharmacy in Los Algodones Mexico. Has slightly beveled edges. Side #1 has cross cut lines (as to be able to split it into 1/4's". Side #2 has a series of approximately 4 circular lines, marking a logo that appears somewhat Adobe, SantaFe, Southwest, Native American, style lines. ## It's generic Clonazepam. OK I HAVE LUPUS ONLY ISSUE IS THE ARTHRITUS FROM IT, NEXT A PITUITARY TUMOR IT HAS DOUBLED IN SIZE SO IM SEEING A BRAIN SURGEON THEN I STARTED BLEEDING FROM MY RIGHT NIPPLE (AFTER 9 MAMOGRAMS 1 ULTRASOUND 2MRI 2 GALACTOGRAMS) IN 15 DAYS THEY NEED TO DO EXPLORATORY SURGERY TO FIND ISSUE. I took 3mg Lunesta for 2-3 years. Had taken Ambien a few years before switching. Due to a refill delay I ran out of Lunesta. It took ten days to fix the refill problem during which time I was forced into quitting cold turkey. For the first week, I had no problem sleeping and had no withdrawal symptoms. Suddenly on about the eighth day I had what seemed like the worst nightmare of my life and other withdrawal symptoms started. Since I had no problem for the first week, I had no idea what the withdrawal symptoms could be, and only looked them up after I started having nightmares, unwarranted anxiety, headaches, extreme exhaustion, irritability, eye twitches, nausea, etc. BUT, at least I was dreaming again, which it seemed I hadn't done since I started taking it.
