Codein Tablets
i .have been prescribed codein [3o/500] and taking them for about 20years.i cant remember what for.i take 8 a dangerous is this to my health.i suffer a lot of stomach problems,i now have no appetite and i have chronic depression.can anyone tell me what damage has been done to my health. THANKS!! ## My opinion is that is you have been taking ANY medication for so long that you have forgotten what they were originally prescribed for, there is definitely a cause for concern. The fact that you take 8 per day and each pill has 500 mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol) in it, the total amount of acetaminophen you take per day is 4000 mg, which is the threshold for maximum recommended dosage for the drug. That is if you don't take any other acetaminophen-containing medications on top of th... ...

gemcal ds is prescribed by my doctor for osteoporosis for lower back pain . is it worth taking . ## This is actually just a multivitamin supplement, the regular Gemcal contains Calcitrol, Calcium and Zinc, I would guess that the DS formulation also contains something else, but I can't find any specific information on it. It will not actually treat pain, but by supplementing these vital minerals, especially the calcium, it might help prevent worsening of the Osteoporosis. Are there any other questions? ## It looks like Gemcal DS is actually supposed to contain Calcium Carbonate 1250 mg + Calcitriol 0.25 mcg, typically prescribed for osteoporosis. So it sounds similar to the regular Gemcal, but does vary in its formulation. ## I used to take gemcal ds for 1month that tym it dint pain ... ...

Generic for Reminyl
Is Razadyne a generic for Reminyl? I have been told it is and it is not. Can you please help me? Thank you. ## Yes, it most certainly is, see the manufacturers website here: Reminyl You can't miss, the name of the drug, which is what the generics would be is right there on the front page. ## Actually, it looks like they might just have renamed the drug, so it might not actually be a generic, just a new name it is marketed under. ...

Heavy bleeding & clots 6 days after methotrexate treatment.
My wife had methotrexate treatment a week after having to have a tube removed as result of ectopic pregnancy because levels were not going down. The first couple of days were fine, but on the 6th day she started having heavy bleeding and clots. Is this normal? ## It's kind of difficult to say, since there was quite a lot going on. It could be from the tube removal and ectopic pregnancy, or from this later treatment. Both could have an effect on her hormones and cause some irregular bleeding. Learn more Methotrexate details here. I see this was posted a few weeks ago. Have there been any changes? How is she doing? ...

Macrodantin effect on blood presure
I am taking macrodantin for a urinary-urethra infection. I have quickly shown a large increase in blood pressure. I also wear an Interstim device for a sluggish bladder. Would this possibly affect blood pressue when taking nitro-fur? ## I can't find anything saying that it does so. Learn more Macrodantin details here. However, have you had any other unusual effects from taking it, such as skin rash, hives or swollen glands? I'm asking because I had a high blood pressure elevation when I had a bad reaction to an antibiotic. It turned out I was allergic to it. ...

Suboxone & zanax
Is suboxone & zanax dangerous to take together? ## Hi Anne, Based on my research, there are potentially dangerous drug interactions listed between Xanax and the buprenorphine found in Suboxone. From what I've read, using either of these medications together can increase your risk of developing serious respiratory depression, buprenorphine overdose, coma, and even death. Is this combination something your doctor prescribed to you? If so, he's really putting you at risk for some potentially life-threatning side effects. You may even want to consider switching doctors to someone who knows more about drug interactions; if not but for your own safety. I hope this helps! ## Thank you so much for answering my question about suboxone & zanax! Yes my doctor dies give me both... ...

my grandaughter was tol her son has ADHD. He is very argumentive, destructive, fowl mouthed also. The doctor put him on Vivan but it does no good. She is thinking of getting mental health treatmen. Is Vivan good for him? Is there another medication besides Vivan that he could be given. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You...Mrs. K ## I'm assuming you meant the medication Vyvanse, which contains the active ingredient Lisdexamfetamine? How long has he been taking it? Big increase in gabapentin
My neurologist has me taking 1200 Mg of gabapentin and my pain specialist increased that to 3000 Mg a day. Will that big of an increase cause me any problems or side effects? ## Hi Susie, Based on my research, many patients are being told that 1,800mg is the maximum recommended dose for nerve pain. Although another drug article I found states that, "Efficacy was demonstrated in clinical studies over a range of 1800 mg/day to 3600 mg/day. However, no additional benefit was demonstrated from the use of doses over 1800 mg/day." - I'm not sure if your pain specialist is aware of this? Regarding side effects, there's always a risk involved with any prescription medication. But if you're taking an increased dose, it's likely that your risk of experiencing certain side ... ...

MY SON NEEDS HELP GETTING OFF OF OXY'S AND DOESN'T HAVE THE FINANCIAL MEANS TO GET HELP. IS THERE ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO HELP PEOPLE GET OFF DRUGS? ## I'm not sure if there is a drug company sponsored program for the Oxys. The only cessation drugs programs that I know of are for smoking (Chantix) and for opiate addition (Suboxone). I would recommend going to as they do have a toll free help line. 1.866.535.7921 I would also recommend -- you should be able to find people in your local area that will know more about what is available close to home. I'm so sorry to hear of your son's Oxy problems. I'm sure it's been hard on him and difficult for your family as well. Have to stop humira for 8 months
I have been taken off humira because I have to start treatment for latent tb. I have severe RA and am wondering when the severe pain is going to kick in. I have been off it a month and am feeling very little pain so far. I'm kind of nervous. Also, when I restart the humira, will I start feeling better right away? ## Based on my research, Humira (Adalimumab) is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It works by blocking the action of TNF, a substance in the body that causes inflammation. Unfortunately, there's no way of knowing ahead of time how well a particular medication might end up working for you. Doctor's can only assume that it will be effective based on medical records, health, age, weight, whether or not you're taking other medications, body chemistry, e... ...

paroxetine hcl 10 mg
The Dr. prescribed me paroxetine hcl 5 weeks ago- for depression- going thru some tough times right now-I took 10 mg for the first week- then 20 mg for 2 weeks- I felt absolutely horrible when taking the 20 mg- so she told me to drop back to 10 mg again- it has been 2 weeks now on the 10 mg- and I still dont' feel "normal"- how long does it take to really start working? ## It generally takes about 4 to 6 weeks for your body to adjust to any new medication, or dosage adjustment and for things to even out and the side effects to taper off. If it doesn't improve, however, you should talk to your doctor again, because this just may not be the right medication for you. Are there any other questions or comments? ...

I have been using Spriva for about 2 month and feel great, problem how to know if I have a dud or empty capsule my friend suggested candling (flashlite) to see if anything in it. It works great you can see inside to make sure powder is there, put it back and click then you know, has anyone tried this. ## I'm sorry, what medication are you referring to? Spiriva is an oral inhaler. If you are getting your medication through a legitimate pharmacy, there should be no need to worry about getting an empty capsule. ## I use a legimate pharmacy Kaiser which is my health plan and yes, there have been duds but the candling does work.
