Just makes someone sleep? ## Hi Kris, Just to confirm, a light blue oval-shaped pill marked with "L441", is identified as a 25mg Doxylamine succinate tablet; which is most commonly used as a sleeping aid for insomnia. Stopped taking Effexor after one year.
1 Reply RSS
I started Effexor in December of 2013 after having taken Prozac for years. I had a daughter in law diagnosed in October of that year with stage 4 breast cancer. Her husband, my son, has always had money problems, no matter how much he makes. My daughter in law is a great gal, and I was really pressured to spend money I didn't have, very stressful time for a 67 year old gal. I started with the Effexor because I was having trouble sleeping, started having hot flashes again, lots of mental anxiety. Recently I started having a clanging noise in my head, bowel problems, and really irritable and depressed. I went to have several tests done, all negative for any serious disease or health problem. The financial and health problems with my son and daughter in law have been taken care of the ... ...

switching an 87 yr old nursing home patient to tylenol 3 after 6 years of hydracodone use should i be concerned about withdrawal symptoms
4 Replies RSS
Because Hydracodone has just changed to a Schedule II med, by father's doc is switching all patients to Tyl 3. My concern is that the switch is happening without weening down from hydracodone. Is it medically necessary to slowly go down on the hydracodone as he slowly goes up on Tyl 3? or can the switch happen in one dose? ## Hello, Gina! How are you? The Codeine in the Tylenol 3 is weaker than the Hydrocodone, so a rapid switch like that may result in some withdrawal and rebound effects, such as nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and rebound pain. To be equal to 10mgs of Hydrocodone, he'd need 66.67mgs of the Codeine. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ... ...

I feel I have been on all anti-pressants ever made, I self medicated with booze for a long time so of course none of them worked or made me sleepy. Well finally I got off the booze about 4 years ago and I like Remeron but I`m diabetic and scared of all the talk about weight gain, I keep my numbers down for the diebetes, I`m 67 and I tread very lightly. ## Have you talked to your doctor? I know you say that you've tried them all, but there are some relatively new ones on the market and not all of them are known to cause weight gain. Your doctor may be able to suggest one you can try that wouldn't cause this issue. I understand why you tread lightly, being diabetic and your age. Have you tried any natural treatments? Some people have great luck with OTC supplements such as Ashwaga... ...

What to take for arthritic pain relief
Post a Reply
I have arthritis everywhere, especially in the ankle, and also osteoporosis. For the osteoporosis I am 67yrs. I am taking Alendronic Acid once a week and have done for 4 yrs. For arthritis I take one each of the following daily (and have done for years):- one Glucosamine Sulphate, one Omega 3, one Zaldiar tablet and one Beline capsule. It seemed to work well for me except for severe hourly nightime lower leg cramps which obviously prevent me from sleeping. A month ago, I suspended all medication and have been in terrible joint pain and feel awful, however, the leg cramps stopped overnight. I now know that it is the Beline capsules which give me the severe cramps as I started to take them again yesterday. I need to know if there is a successful alternative to Beline? I have read about on... ...

Use of Methycobal 500 as nerve pain killer

prescribed for me to help the pains of nerve inflammation [nerve between L5 & S1 ## Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B12, a deficiency in it has been shown to cause or contribute to some forms of nerve pain. The only way to see if it will help you is to actually try it, for awhile, and see if you have any improvement. Just like anything else, there are people that get great results from it and there are others that it doesn't help. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I have severe feet pain at night, age 67, been having it for 8 years, now hands are doing same, if I'm upset, or work hard...
