can i split one in half or quarter ## No, it is not safe to cut and divide these tablets. This is a 30mg Oxycontin tablet, which contains the narcotic Oxycodone in a time released formulation. Cutting or breaking the tablet could result in your getting too much of the medication, at once, which could result in overdose. The new formulation is supposed to help prevent this, but the danger is always there. If you need a lower dosage, you should speak to your doctor about prescribing it in a lower dose or different formulation. I have been on Opana 40 er for almost 6 years the original ones worked great, then they reformulated them and they do not work as well. Sometimes my pharmacy has them that have a half moon on them and I was wondering what company makes them? ## Hello, Dolly! How are you? That logo is used by Actavis Pharmaceuticals. I actually have a couple of their medications here from my pharmacy and have had no problems with them. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Do they make a 60mg opana now or do they give you two 30s at a time? Someone please bye very helpful!! ## Opana is only available in a maximum of 40mgs. And, except in extreme cases such as someone having terminal cancer pain, no a doctor would not be able to prescribe that much. Learn more Opana details here. Under the new regulations, anyone else requiring this medication for pain can only receive the maximum available dosage, the maximum number of recommended times per day…. and even if a doctor did try to write for 2 of the 30mg tablets, no pharmacy would fill it. As I said, the only exceptions to the new regulations are those in severe pain from terminal illness. Are there any tricks to get the insurance company to authorize opana when the 2 other medications that they cover are giving me way to many debilitating side effects . My pain doc switched me to opana or OxyContin so I'd get pain relief without sedation, itching , rashes and vomiting . I've tried OxyContin and I had none of those side effects. My doctor just sent in the letter of medical necessity and if it gets denied I'd like to know what are things that they look for specifically and things they consider there to be cause to approve the request and authorize it? The doc told me he only wrote two Med codes bc the form only had space for that . Uuggghhh- that frustrated me bc I just had surg and I really wanted this to go through and FAST !! What is the different OXYCOTIN 80 MG O/C & OXA FORTE 50 MG. ## IS THE SAME EFECT BETWEN OXYCONTIN O/C 80 MG AND OXA FORTE 50 MG.? ## Oxycontin contains the opiate Oxycodone in a time released formulation, while Oxa Forte contains Codeine, and Diclofenac, so the latter couples an opiate with a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Both carry the risk of being habit forming, but the Codeine is much milder than the Oxycodone. They may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and constipation. Thus, while they are both opiates used to alleviate pain, they are not equivalent, because the Oxycontin is much stronger Is there anything else I can help with?

I just saw this on the news. They were talking about the drug Fentanyl and that it's deadly just to touch it. It had A335 on it. ## It is not deadly just to touch it, however, Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic that is used to treat severe pain, so one should not take it, unless it has been prescribed by their doctor. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, dry mouth, and drowsiness. Also, it does need to be kept out of the reach of children and pets, it should not be used by those that are not opiate tolerant. There is also no tablet with this marking on it that contains Fentanyl, so I am not sure what they were using for the news story. Sometimes it is just a stock image. Can you s...

My husband has been violently ill for hours. He got a text from someone asking if he was "good with those p 10s". I asked, but he doesn't admit to taking anything. I'm worried, because this has been going on for 12 hours now. Any ideas what he could have taken?? ## I can't find any pills listed with a P 10 marking on them. However, some people use that as a form of street slang to refer to the new formulation of Oxycontin, because the new markings on them use the letters OP and the 10 would refer to the 10mg dosage. They often refer to the original formulation as C's, because they had an OC on the tablets. If it has lasted around 12 hours or so, that would also make sense, because it is a time released formulation of the narcotic Oxycodone and the new tablets wit...
