Was on methadone fir 3 months and I've been off of it fir 1 month but I've been doing other opiates to get me through the withdrawal. I'm looking into taking subutex and wanted to no if I can take one right away or do I have to wait 24hrs for the opiates to get out of my system. ## Hello, Tiny! How are you? Subutex only contains Buprenorphine, it does not contain the Naloxone that is in Suboxone to cause withdrawal, so it does not require the waiting period. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What has your doctor advised? ## Have not spoke with a doctor regarding this matter. One more question, if I am on subutex for a couple days, do I have to wait to ... ...

If I get prescribed the sublingual film could I ask the pharmacy to dispense the generic tablets ## No Nate. They won't switch out. Subutex is a completely different script. ## @nate, It probably wouldn't hurt to ask, but if I'm not mistaken, your doctor may have to be the one to make that request prior to writing your 'next' prescription. Usually the pharmacy will only give you what they have on the shelf at that time unless your doctor makes a point of notifying them on the script that you want a specific form of the medication. Do the sublingual films not work as well for you? ...

 Subutex Buprenorphine
Buprenorphine is an opioid, a semi-synthetic derivative of thebaine. It is a mixed agonist–antagonist opioid receptor modulator that is used to treat opioid addiction in higher dosages, to control moderate acute pain in non-opioid-tolerant individuals in lower dosages and to control moderate chronic pain in even smaller doses.[3] It is available in a variety of formulations: Subutex, Suboxone, Zubsolv (buprenorphine HCl and/or naloxone HCl; typically used for opioid addiction), Temgesic...

What's the difference between the small and large pill an which is stronger the 2mg or the 8mg? ## Hello, Sherrie! How are you? When it comes to medications, please don't let them confuse you. As applies in most other situations, the relevance of numbers in medications is the same, so the higher the number, the stronger the dosage. Learn more Subutex details here. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can I have a tooth extracted if I'm using subutex? Will the local anaesthetic still work okay? Regards, Dave ## It should, since there is nothing in Subutex to neutralize it. The anesthetic used by dentists is not a narcotic and the Subutex doesn't contain Naloxone, anyway. However, I'd suggest making sure the dentist knows you're taking it, just to be on the safe side. Learn more Subutex details here. Having had 2 teeth pulled, while I had an active infection so the anesthetic didn't work, I can assure you that's something you don't want to experience. how can i fake a subutex for a pill count that i only have to take a picture of my pills. what over the counter pill looks like subutex? ## Arrow on one side and other side has a 2 or an 8 on it (MG’s) Subutex is white/round (use to be larger, now made by Arrow, they are both small/same size. and Subxone is Orange/hexagon also has dosage on front ## @bdub, Any medical professional who isn't blind knows what these pills are supposed to look like, especially if you have to hand the photos over to be reviewed by several sets of eyes. If you can't legitimately cover up your story, it would probably do you less harm to just be upfront and honest with your doctor. I would've probably taken a series of photos of the pills before finishing them. That way you don't have to ... ...

Need to find a similar pill to a 8mg subutex with imprint. 54 411 ## Unfortunately there aren't any pills with the same imprint and/or color, since this is what makes these 8mg Subutex tablets unique amongst other pills on the market. I don't know why anyone would even need a fake replacement for it, but I hope for whoever's sake that it's for the right reasons. The closest match I was able to find is a white round pill marked "54 755", however this also happens to be generic Subutex. does subutex have a 3 on one side of it ## Hi Heather, Subutex pills do not have a 3 on them; or at least the white one's don't, as I haven't seen any other colors. Why do people stay on suboxone for long periods of time? I was on 8 , 10/325s a day for 6months, and I was able to get off opiates with 2, 8 mg pills of suboxone. I took a whole pill (8mg) the first day, 1/2 (4mg) the next day, 1/4 (2mg) the 3rd day, and I stopped taking it. I saved 2mg just in case I withdrew. But I had little to no wd's. I would relapse a few months later for about two weeks. And was able to get off the opiate with just one 8mg sub. By taking a 1/2, a 1/4, an 1/8, and an 1/8 the 4th day. No wds. Knowing I had access to the subs gave me a way to use the opiates recreationally cuz it felt good. Kinda wish it wasn't available. But if it wasn't, I'd be stuck on the opiate. Thankfully I haven't used in 16 months cuz it can get expensive. :-\ ## I guess ... ...

It is most likely that you can take a certain amount with you, but after that you will probably need a prescription from a doctor there to continue getting it. Learn more Subutex details here.
