I got this pill in 02/2013 can I still take it now 05/2014 ## Hello, Minnie! How are you? That's well over a year old, so they aren't going to be as effective, since they're expired and that creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. It would be best to dispose of them and get a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with?

my doctor has told me to take two of the sulfamethoxazole-tmp twice a day, and I'm really feeling sick since I've taken the second one, is this not an awful high dosage to be taken. ## The dose of Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim largely depends on the type of infection you have and how severe it is. However, these pills you have marked "IP 272" are regarded as "double-strength tablets". For most infections, I found that the dosing schedule was one double strength tablet (800mg/160mg) every 12 hours for roughly 7-10 days; so if you feel like you're taking too much, I would suggest contacting your doctor about this concern. 5575 Rugby round light green pill ## Watson Pharmaceuticals now owns Rugby and there are products on the market with the Rugby logo that are prescription and over the counter items. Since this one is not listed in the U.S. prescription drug databases, I am guessing that it is probably an over the counter product, because those imprints are not required to be logged with the FDA. You could try contacting them directly, for an identification at 800-272-5525. Can you please post back and let us know what it is, as well?
