thyroxine 25mcg
i have brought some thyroxine off the internet, they came from india, and they are like a funny shape and they have 25 printed on them, they are pure white.. how do i know if these are genuine pills? and do they make you lose weight? ## From a foreign source and with just that vague imprint, there is really no way to know for sure what you received. It could be anything. This is one of the hazards of ordering from foreign pharmacies that are not regulated by the U.S. FDA. In addition, Thyroxine is not considered safe to be used as a weight loss drug, it is actually only approved and intended to treat Thyroid conditions and since those levels have to be carefully monitored, the blood levels of your Thyroid hormones have to be checked on a regular basis. Have you tried speaking to your do... ...

lisinopril & grapefruit?
Are there food restrictions such as grapefruit when taking lisinopril? ## can eating grapefruit or juice react with this drug? ## I have checked several sources and there is nothing listed about there being a problem combining the two. ## I'm confused, I've read several different things about drug interactions with lisinopril. My concern is dieutics, and possassium. Can you still take them when taking Lisinopril? ## I worked in health care for years & was never told of an interaction. My husband LOVES grapefruit but has started taking Lisinopril & had severe pains, shortness of breath, & spikeing blood pressure, sweating & vomiting. We had to rush him to the urgent care center near his work when he had an episode & they gave him 2 nitro pills under his tongue... ...

Cymbalta Absorption in Gastric Bypass
I had a gastric bypass in 2001. I am on a higher dose of Cymbalta. Does anyone know if the absorption of this medication altered by gastric bypass? ## Most medications are, but to be certain, I would recommend checking with your doctor or pharmacist, they will be the only ones who can give you a definite answer on that in relation to the dosage you are on. ## I had Gastric bypass some years ago. There doesn't seem to be any difference. ## I had RNY surgery in 2003. It seems I take higher dosages of ANYTHING, due to the surgery. When (blood) lithium levels were tested, and medication was supposedly a theraputic dosage, I had much lower levels than the norm. I use a pill sorter and NEVER miss doses, so go figure. ## I had RNY in 2006. I don't know about Cymbalta, but my surgeon sa... ...

I was just given antenolol chlorthalidone 1per day and Potassium cl 10 MEQ ER i tab. per day my potassium level is fine but when i was on the antenolol before my potassium level dropped so they don't want that to happen so will taking this potassium pill result in high levels is it safe to take i am 70 yrs old ## Hello, Dorothy! How are you? Adding potassium is often necessary when someone is taking this medication, since the Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that removes excess fluid from the body. So, you should take it according to your doctors instructions and just make sure that they are checking your levels regularly, via a blood sample. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

triamterene37.5mg/hctz 25mg caps
Prescribed for high blood pressure ## I had been taking Triamterence-Hctz 37.5-25mg It was a green and yellow cap and I had no problmes. The last refill was a green pill and now my legs retaining water. What is the difference btween tge pills? ## This medication is a combination of two different diuretics that are used to help treat conditions such as high blood pressure, edema and congestive heart failure. You can learn more Triamterene details here and you can learn more Hydrochlorothiazide details here. The most common side effects are nausea, dizziness, headache and dehydration. As to Karen's question, there is really no way to answer that without knowing more specifics, such as the markings on the tablets, so someone can double check what they contain. Thus, if you have a simil... ...

my husband and i had protected intercourse on april 5,2014, we used premiere condom. through out the intercourse we heard a pop but didn't mind it. After intercourse i always ask him to check if the condom is broken or what. and then that's when we discovered that the condom was empty even if he came. and it was all with me. this happened during my fertile day. the first day of my last cycle was march 18. i have a 34 day regular cycle. my supposed period was april 21,2014. i am now 2 days late. at 5 am in the morning, my bf and i ran to the nearest mercury drug but it was still closed, we went to south star drug but they didn't know what nordette is/morning after pill. we went to the hospital and they said the obgyn was coming in at 11 am still. and then we waited the docoto... ...

pot chlor er
I have potassium level of 3.3 and was prescribed Pot Chlor Er(Klor-Con M20)Tb 20Meq but I have Irritable bowel syndrome and Gerd's and the medicine appears to be irritative to the stomach and esophagus. In addition I cannot swallow such a big thick pill. Is there a substitute which is liquid or powder? ## There are other potassium supplements available over the counter, but to be equivalent to this, you'd have to take a lot of them and the risk of them being irritating to your gastric system will still be there. That can actually be mitigated by making sure to take it with food, rather than on an empty stomach and will a full glass of water. However, if you really can't swallow it, then check with your doctor, they may have some other idea that could help. Are there any othe... ...

Large Red And White Capsule No Imprint
I recently found a baggy of of large red & white capsules with no imprint hidden in my teens closet. There were an even 90 capsules in the bag. He is out of town with a friend this week and we would like to identify before confronting him. My search on pill identifyer sites reveals nothing as most pharma meds must have a identifyer number, etc. These are just large red & white capsules. I want to believe they are some form of supplement he may be using for weight or sports training but identifying supplements appears impossible. The fact that there are exactly 90 capsules also leads me toward a supplement. Is there any local way to have the contents checked in a lab? Local law? Pharmacist? ## If you find a lab nearby and pay them to test them, that would probably be your only so... ...

What specialists treat the WHOLE patient?
My mom's being treated by several different docs for various problems--endocrinologist, diabetes spec, cardiologist, etc. She takes almost 25 pills a day, as a result. None of her docs--her primary care doc included--seems to look at the entirity of her condition. I'm worried about drug interactions, etc. as she's always nauseous, doesn't have enough energy to get out of bed most days, etc. Is there some sort of specialist that will analyze the WHOLE patient, including diet/prescriptions/medical conditions/activity, etc, rather than just treating one element of her health? ## That really should be the job of her primary care doctor, does she have one? And is she getting them all filled at the same pharmacy? Because, if she is, they will automatically check for any possib... ...

fainting with abilify and cyproheptadine or remeron and cyproheptadine
Would the combination of either of these medications cause fainting? I now take 5 mg of Abilify per day. I took my last pill of 100 mg fluconazole on yesterday ; also took a 3.50mg of remeron last night.. This morning I stared the 4mg of cyproheptadine. by the afternoon I fainted. I have not been eating as I should. I am very concerned now. I am now taken off of remeron, but will continue the Abilify and Cyproheptadine. ## Hi, Keanna! Sorry that you fainted. If you haven't been eating properly, that's the culprit you should probably look at first. If you're not eating properly and taking medications, especially the Abilify, which is a very strong one, then it tends to cause more pronounced side effects. Only your doctor can check you over and tell you for sure what has cause... ...

HEART PROBLEMS
I am a heart patient. My cholesterol is under controlled by taking one tab of above in the evening after food/fruits. I am also under treatment for diabetis (two tabs of 30mg Diamicron MR in the morning}. I still suffer from pins and needles in my lower legs especially when I walk or do light exercise/swim. I am also on Casprin 100mg and high blood pressure pill (Atenolol 100mg daily). Is the combined "mix" OK? ## I'm sorry, what medication did you mean by one tab of the above? You posted this under the Atenolol forums. Without knowing what medication you are talking about for cholesterol, I can't check any information on that one, for you. Casprin contains the active ingredient Aspirin, for patients with heart and blood pressure problems, it is used as a blood thinner. ... ...

Missed period, I think
Okay, so I started Lo Loestrin Fe about 3 months ago and I started on my 4th pack last week.. I have had a period at the same exact time for the 2 packs that I have had in the past (whenever i took the brown pills) but in the 3rd pack I started bleeding in the middle of my pack and it went on for about a week and a half.. After that I didn't start my period when it came time to take the brown pill. Me and my boyfriend have intercourse and it is usually with protection and sometimes we use the withdrawal method (he has never came inside).. Is this normal? ## Hello, Elsa! How are you? Yes, you can experience irregularities for the first 3 months, while your body is adjusting to hormonal contraceptives. However, if it continues, you should have things checked out to be sure, you may ne... ...
