White with V ## Based on the description provided, I found your pill to be Spironolactone (25 mg). Spironolactone is used primarily to treat heart failure, ascites in patients with liver disease, low-renin hypertension, hypokalemia and Conn's syndrome. I am now taking this pill imprinted with 5880 V for helicobacter pylori. In the past I was taking the MP 35 pill. I was feeling better taking the latter. Is there a difference between the two? ## Both of these tablets are listed as containing Spironolactone, which is a diuretic that is used to help remove excess fluid from the body, it is not used to treat H. Pylori. It is used to treat conditions such as high blood pressure, edema, and congestive heart failure. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. I have a bottle of these to use, when needed, due to the fact that I had congestive heart failure almost 8 years ago. Are you sure these are the correct medications?

I found this pill on top of one of my cabinets in the house . can you tell me what it might be? ## Could the marking be 5880 V? I actually have these and due to the size and pressing of the imprint, the numbers are difficult to make out on them. However, they contain 25mgs of Spironolactone, which is primarily used as a potassium sparing diuretic and antihypertensive agent. Learn more Spironolactone details here. ## Possibly a Prednisone, a corticosteroid, used primarily for inflammatory conditions. I would advise flushing it down the toilet, or putting it with yucky food trash, so no one will take it by accident or on purpose. It can have nasty side effects.

I need an updated list of the top 100 prescription medications for 2009. ## I'm sorry, but it is only January, so it doesn't seem the updated list for 2009 has been released, yet. I can only find listings of the flashcards that were for sale to study this list during 2009 and the list that used the sales/prescription data from 2008. That said, here's that list: Please note, the first number is sales ranking, the number in parentheses is how many spots it moved since the prior year, then the drug name, then the $ amount of retail sales and the percentage of change in the units sold since 2007.
