Sometimes the morphine 30mg doesn't last as long so I've been going going back and forth between that and the oxymorphone 10mg. I was jus wondering because. I am usually on 60mg 3x a day. Opana costs too much for the same thing that Oxymorphone does. Opana is about $500+/-, while Oxymorphone is $47. ## opana and oxymorphone are the same thing, and you can get high off it. My physician recently prescribed 20mg of Oxymorphone 2X a day with 10mg Oxycodone for breakthrough pain up to 3 a day. My question is what is equivalent strength of the Oxymorphone to the Oxycodone? I have been taking oxymorphone er 2 tabs a day, 10mg each. I have 26 vicodin 7.5/325 per month for breakthrough. It's not enough. Both knees and lower back hurt. Wut if any drug out there is similar /comparable to Oxymorphone?? ## Not precisely; the best alternatives are oxycodone & hydromorphone in the US with the addition of the absolutely superb dipipanone (Diconal) in the UK. A 10mg average oxymorphone dose would require 30mg Diconal to give the equivalent analgesia. Before changing to IR Oxycodone I took the 120mg Oxycontin twelve hourly but as its duration of action is only 6 or 8 hours at most, required rescue meds and dipipanone was by some way the most effective. I am looking for an oxymorphone IR 10mg source myself for a change of scenery but find it impossible to get from any US pharmacy sent over the water.
