Is Phenergan a Narcotic? Can it be taken to help treat withdrawals from pain meds? ## NO Phenergan is not a narcotic, it is an antihistamine, that can treat allergic reactions, nausea, and several other conditions. If some people suffering withdrawal experience nausea, their doctors may prescribe it to help with the nausea, but no, it is not a narcotic and will not help with regular withdrawal symptoms. Please, do not try to treat yourself, this isn't even close to a narcotic or something that can help with withdrawal, self-medicating can be very dangerous. Please speak to your doctor.

So I was given this pill marked "S-521" by a family member and was under the impression it was Promethazine (Phenergan) but when I looked it up it showed up as Cetirizine?! So is it not for nausea? Hello. I have been prescribed Phenergan via IV PICC line for nausea in combination with Zofran IV as well. Do these meds work well together? I do seem to be having side effects of blurred vision, itching and some abnormal feeling in my legs that makes me feel as if I must move or get up and walk. What is the difference between the Phenergan pills marked zc 02 and gg 225 ## These are both the same medication and same dosage (Promethazine hydrochloride 25 mg). The only difference I see is that they are manufactured and/or repackaged by separate companies. Other than that, there may or may not be different inactive ingredients in the pills. If you have an allergy to certain inactive ingredients in one pill, then you can always switch to other, if that is in fact the case. Hope this information helps! Please post back if you have any other general questions or concerns about this drug.

this is something i was perscribed by my doctor for nausea. the phenergan and the phentermine was prescribed may of 2010.i wanted to know is it safe for me too take them together? ## I really wish I had read this post much sooner and I certainly hope that Canotta is okay. For anyone else seeking information, no these two medications should not be combined, unless your doctor has specifically stated that it is safe for you to do so. Taking them together creates the risk of developing a dangerous cardiac arrhythmia in some people and the risk of sudden death, so this is one that can't be taken lightly. You can learn more Phentermine details here and you can learn more Phenergan details here. Are there any comments or questions?

## can i take phenergan for nausea if I am a diabetic? ## Phenergan contains the active ingredient Promethazine, and there is a risk of it interfering with blood glucose control, and it can reduce the effectiveness of Metformin for those taking it. This doesn't mean that you can't take Phenergan, but you should do so only with your doctor's approval, because you may need to adjust the dose of your diabetic medications while taking it.
