I get a legitimate prescription of Oxycodone (30 mg.) 90 pills every month from my doctor. Insurance pays for it gladly. But I am new in the Bronx so pharmacies don't "know me"... Dear friends. I too am in the same situation. I live in the Tampa area of Florida. It seems that the powers that be are choking off the supply of these drugs. I am now trying to get oxy from Optumrx, a mail order pharmacy. I did receive my meds last month a week late. Now they have changed the rules to a 80% ER and a 20% IR. I understand that they will eventually taper me off to no pills at all! That's not acceptable as I live with chronic pain. I am looking into changing my meds to a more available med. Hello Everyone. Hopefully someone on here will be able to help me. My family and I are getting ready to go on 10 day cruise. I have been taking OXYCODONE 30mg for over 15 years. I have a totally legitimate prescription for my medication but on the "fill date", we will be in the Carribean, more specifically Montego Bay, Jamaica (we will also be visiting the Grand Caymans, Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico. I am sooooo sick of being told that the pharmacies don't have my meds!!! I have a pain specialist in Lee county in Fl and live in Naples. I have been paying for my controlled meds at a pharmacy in Bonita when I have insurance that covers my medication in full !!! this particular pharmacy told me that they are no longer accepting insurance for controlled substances because they lose money so they are charging $3-$4 each for MS Contin 15 and even more for Norco or percocet. I live in Naples, Florida and I am legally prescribed both methadone and oxycodone. I have an extremely hard time trying fill these prescriptions. I once went to 19 different pharmacies in one day trying to fill them! Only to be told that either they are out, don't carry it, or are no longer taking in New "clients." I finally found a.place that would fill 180 pills of my methadone, even though I am prescribed 270. I had my doctor break up my prescription into two so it would be easier. I then found a place that fills my second part of my prescription with little problems. I've been going to these two different pharmacies on and off for the past two years. I went to 63 pharmacies in Jax trying to fill a legitimate rx (MS / 22 yrs) with cash in hand, before giving up. I normally fill it through my insurance company's mail order pharmacy, which has never been a problem (because it's not based in Florida)... But this new wonderful healthcare system of ours has resulted in me getting dropped from my plan -- and now I'm one of the 28,000+ people who don't have insurance yet because of that website snafu in early March when I enrolled/paid.
