Predizone for peripheral neuropathy? I have been diagnosed and have only been B-12 for low iron. A friend had this and said Predizone helped to cure her. What experience have you had with this condition and with Predizone? ## Prednisone is a steroid class medication, it can help with allergic reactions, inflammation, and some immune disorders, however, it should not be taken without a doctor's approval. The FDA warns that it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, mood swings, insomnia, and fluid retention. It may not 'cure' any given condition. Are you on any other medications?

Can peripheral neuropathy be a rare side effect of Losartan? I just cut back from 100mg/day to 50mg/day. I also get leg/foot cramps while sleeping, tightness in my calfs while walking, and just recently developed a dry cough. These other symptoms are more common - are they not? ## Hello, Joanna! How are you? No, I'm not seeing that listed anywhere among the side effects provided by the FDA, though yes, it can cause pain in some people that take it. You may also experience dizziness, nausea and increased urination. However, if you have the dry cough, you should speak to your doctor as you will most likely need to switch to a different medication. Once the coughing starts, it doesn't usually go away. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Not seeing foot and leg numbness anywh...

My treatment for the pain i experience from this chronic disease is MS. Contin and Oxycodone. This treatment works very well for me and i trying many different meds and therapeutic treatments and i would not want to mess with it. Will Neurologist perscribe this type of medication for someone with will be on it indefinitely? ## Hello, Michael! How are you? It depends on the neurologist, though in most cases, you'll be sent to a pain management specialist to prescribe and monitor your medications. The FDA classifies these as narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are there any other questions or concerns?

What rights do patients have to receive effective pain management? What recourse does one have when every health care professional they are seeing refuses to treat pain effectively? Why are there so many people receiving strong opiates when they don't actually have any legitimate diagnosis to support the use of such medications. I personally know of at least 20 people in one small town who sell their medications because they never use them, they truly don't have pain issues, they lie to these doctors! ## Hello Debbie! How are you? I am very sorry that you and so many others are dealing with these types of issues and living with so much pain. Unfortunately, you don't have any rights to pain management, since it isn't considered life-threatening. It's sad, but that...

My mother is 78 years old and has been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, for which she takes daily insulin doses. She also experiences severe pain caused by peripheral neuropathy. I'm curious if Ace Proxyvon would be effective in alleviating her pain? Are there any other medications that could potentially provide relief for her?

I was under treatment with of thalidomide from November to March 2012, for obscure GI bleeding. This bleeding started after GI ENDOSCOPY of stomach. I have had idiopathic peripheral neuropathy bilaterally for years. About two years ago, for other reasons, my physician suggested that I take 25 mg of Hydrochlorot daily. My PN continues to get worse, and I recently discovered that there may be a link between taking Hydrochlorot and its possible cause or effect of Peripheral Neuropathy. Any comments would be appreciated. ## Hello, Bob! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. Did you mean Hydrochlorothiazide? This is a diuretic that removes water from the body, so it could aggravate such conditions, if it's keeping you dehydrated. How much liquid do you take in each day, not including anything caffeinated or alcoholic? Do you take any other medications?

My father, 81, was diagnosed with AML 6 months ago after having MDS for several years. 20% blasts in bone marrow, and transfusions every few weeks. Neupogen for low white counts. Started Vidaza, and after 2nd round, has had radiating neuropathy-like pain in the abdomen, chest and into the armpits. Vicodin not really helping the pain. Have read about Vit B supplements, and will inquire about that to doctor. Most Internet searches for neuropathy after chemotherapy talk about the hands and feet, but not "trunk" neuropathy. Anyone else experience pain in the trunk area post Vidaza? And if so, please share ## Well, peripheral neuropathy is the most common, due to the fact that the tissue in those locations is very thin, so there is less protection for the nerves all around and they t...

I am suffering from peripheral neuropathy in the legs for which Pregabalin75 is prescribed one per day.Is this OK and if so for how long should I take this drug and what are the side effects ? ## Yes, Pregabalin is commonly used to treat many types of nerve pain. I have had peripheral neuropathy for almost 20 years. I read about Matanx, and would like to know the experiences of anyone who has tried it. THANKS! ## I took Metanx (2 pills a day) for a little over a month for neuropathy in my feet. It wasn't doing any good so my doctor took me off of it. After I started taking the Metanx, my neuropathy got a lot worse and pain started in one of my feet. I don't know if Metanx caused my feet to get worse, but in some posts on a similar website, some people said they thought the this medicine caused their neuropathy to become worse, too. can I use renerve plus for peripheral neuropathy? ## Renerve Plus is just a nutritional supplement that contains a complex of vitamins believed to support nerve health. However, whether or not they will help you, depends on what has caused your neuropathy. Has your doctor advised you to take it?
