I started Sprintec a week and a half ago, first time ever on birth control, on the Sunday of my period, for the purpose of skipping my period two cycles from now. I noticed nausea almost immediately and pretty much everyday. I'm okay with that because I've been eating less. I started spotting three days ago, very light, but still need to wear a panty liner. I know it says that spotting is normal, but I just don't want it to last for weeks, all to skip my period for 5 days in two months. Could this be my period? Or how long does this last? I am suffering from fungal infection I guess... Because after my periods immediately I started getting rashes, itching, redness and burning sensation in my vulva. I was suggested to use v wash for cleaning which will decrease the pain, then I was suggested to use candidate b cream but as per my information it has to be applied externally.. But I tried using it..it didn't completely work but the pain is decreased to some extent.. So I would like to know that if I am applying this cream internally will it work to decrease my pain.. The risk there is that you wouldn't be immediately protected from pregnancy, so there was a risk, if you were actively engaging in intercourse. You wouldn't have been protected, until after taking 7 full days of the active tablets. As to your period, as long as you aren't pregnant, you will get them the last week of your cycle. You should double check with your doctor, but what you most likely should do is take the 3 weeks of active tablets and then just not take any tablets for a week, to allow your period to occur.
