I was taking the injection and I stopped about two months within the two month im on my third cycle and it won't stop and also it goes on for about 6 days ## Hello, Santina! How are you? Your period can last anywhere from 2 to 10 days, so 6 days is not unusual and nothing to worry about. As to being on your third cycle in 2 months, that can also be normal, depending on the lengths of each month, stopping the contraceptive may also contribute to the issue, according to the NIH. Has anything changed? Are you on any other medications?

having a procedure on cervix in 7 days doctor prescribed norimin-1 does anyone know if its going to stop my period which is to happen in 3 to 5 days thanks ## Hi Terry, Are you wondering if the procedure is going to effect your menstrual cycle? If so, would you be comfortable letting me know the name of the procedure? Without that information, I can only make guesses, and that won't really help me to answer your question as accurately as I would like. - When it comes to the Norimin, I imagine you should just continue taking the pills as recommended by your doctor. If you have any complications, I would give him/her a call since only they can safely instruct you on what to do! Now, back to the topic of your procedure- I did read about a procedure referred to as LEEP (The Loop Electro...

hi i have an implanon n went to my periods but on my last day i noticed that am having heavy bleeding with clot and i have to change pads efter every two (2) hours so i went to the clinic they gave me anserobyl 400, injection and ovral 28 but still no change. Is there any problem with my abnomen? Is is normal to have those rainy periods?its like i pee when having them ## That can be normal, when you have the Implanon, but the Anaerobyl won't help, it is an antibiotic and can only help treat, or prevent bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Please tell me. ## Unfortunately, no! Once your period has started, there is no guaranteed way to stop it that fast. Bleeding can be a normal side effect of this medication, according to the U.S. FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. Hi i been using oralcon a few months back had no problems until now. I stared a new pack the first week of this month but decided on stopping because I was away for a week so I didn't see the reason to take it since I wasn't active. I had my period which was surprising, however I decided on taking the same pills at the start of my period. I stop taking the pills after my period was finished, only to find out this morning I was bleeding again. Is this because I continued from the same pack?, why? I don't understand hence: what do u suggest I use because am scared I won't be able to have kids when am ready and I don't think I wanna use oralcon anymore ## Hello, Neika! How are you? There is no need to worry, this contraceptive will not have any long-term detrimental eff...

I quit taking my pills in March and should have started my period April 6th and it hasn't come yet. Before I started taking the pills my periods were extremely irregular and almost never occured. I started the pills and they were right on every month and never late or early. I was just wondering that since i quit them mid march (at the end of a pack... with my drs permission) if it was normal to have my period be late? ## Did you have a menstrual cycle when you stopped taking them, or shortly after you stopped? If so, then your next cycle should be approximately 28 days later. However yes, since they are a hormonal based contraceptive, you may experience irregularities in your cycle for awhile, due to the fact that your body has to re-regulate itself without them, now. Have you talk...

Hello, I started taking Loestrin 20 last month, after 4 months of being on Microgynon (which had bad effects on me). I took it for 21 days and then stopped, as I had been advice by the doctor. However, I have a 12 day delay on my period (41 days since my last period) and I am a bit concerned.. I have done 2 pregnancy tests and they were both negative so I am wondering what else can be wrong? Also, just to clarify, I havent started taking the pill again. Thanks a lot. ## There may not necessarily be anything wrong, it could just be due to your body adjusting to the hormones in the new contraceptive. It is normal to have irregularities for the first 3 months or so of taking a new one. However, you should consult your doctor to be certain, they may want to run some tests or do an exam. But...

It's my last day of taking the althea pill. I thought I'd just have menstruation on my pill-free days but mine started on my 13th day of taking the pill and it's my 22nd day now and I still have menstruation. I'm so worried now. ## Hi, I am 28 years old. I have to go out on my 5th day of menstruation but I need to stop the bleeding. Is it possible to stop it by taking any tablet? ## That can be a normal side effect of taking a hormonal contraceptive and it may take 3 months, or so, before it stops. Other side effects, as listed by the NIH, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. If it continues past that time period, or becomes heavy, you should consult your doctor. Are either of you on any other medications?

Hello I wonder if you can help, I have been on Nuzak for a year and a half now if not more. I recently decided to gradually stop using it and this month I haven't had my menstruation could this be a side effect of me stopping the medication? ## Yes, it can affect your menstrual cycles, when you stop it, start it, change your dosage or miss doses. However, if you continue to not have your period in additional months, you should consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

Dr give birth control call lo loestrin and she told me to take at the first day of my period this month and I just had it today . And she said maybe you not gona have ur period . So is that right the birth control will stop it . And after I leave it do I can get pregnant easily am just gona take from today until 11/3/13 ## Hi Saja, From what I understand, it is possible for you to miss a period if you take birth control on the first day of your menstrual cycle. However, hormones can affect different people in different ways, whereas some women will menstruate regularly and some won't. I don't think there is any harm in skipping, but if you are concerned about it, you should probably consult your doctor. As far as getting pregnant goes, I believe you are susceptible to pregnancy ...

i started using nurstrate in 2014 and stopped in 2016 dec. I started again now in December 2017 and for a week after i took the shot I got brown spots for 5days then emmidiately after that I got my periods and tomorrow will be second week (8th day) of periods and its quite heavy. I have been intimate with my patner while on periods;could it be the reason for my prolonged periods? ## No, intimacy won't cause such an issue. It is most likely just a normal side effect of Nu-Isterate. The NIH reports that it can cause irregular bleeding for a few months, after restarting it, along with nausea, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. For anyone else curious, other than the possibility of being messy, there is no harm or side effects associated with being intimate while menstruating. ...

I started tri sprintec back in May. At the beginning of July I stopped taking them for two months and then started again a few weeks ago. I remembered my doctor saying to start the Sunday after your next period. So after my next period, which ended on a Sunday. I started. A few days later I started a second period. This one heavier than normal. And it has been going on for five days now. I'm wondering if this is just because I started and stopped? Or should I be worried. ## Hello, Hope! How are you? They should actually be started the first day of your period, regardless of what day that is, but regardless… Irregular bleeding can be normal, because your body hasn't really had a chance to adjust to the hormones, yet. Especially since you took them for a couple months, then ...

I started taking lo loestrin for the first time a few days before my period on jan 2 2014. I was still getting use to the Times i would take them so i took them at different times on some days I had intercourse on that same day not protected. I then had breakthrough bleeding within 6days after taking the pill, and stopped the pill immediatly on jan 8 2014 due to really painful cramps. The break through bleeding stopped on jan 13 2014. I was wondering how long would it take my cycle to start after only taking this birth control for a week? Is It possible I could get pregnant for stopping the pill after a short ammount of time or not being consistant with it time wise? Help. :( I'm now two weeks late. ## Hello, Janine! How are you? So I haven't had a period for a while and I had to stop birth control and I was wondering is it OK to have a light period and short one? ## Hi maria, Based on what I've seen other women post here (including my fiancé), a short period doesn't appear to be too uncommon and in most general cases shouldn't spark up any concerns; especially after coming off something like birth control - which alters your hormones and therefore has an impact on your menstrual cycle (since the two are directly related in many ways). So if you ask me, my opinion is that everything should normalize as the body begins to adjust to not having the added hormones from contraceptives. However, it may just be another month before you have a chance to see the difference as things gradually level o...

I'm on my first day of taking Althea pills. So far I haven't experienced any symptoms like nausea and migraine. How long would it take before I experience any of these? Hopefully I won't experience the bad side effects. Also, does taking pills shorten the duration of periods? I typically have mine up to 7 days and took the pill exactly on the first day of my period. ## It may take a few weeks for any possible side effects to manifest, according to NIH reports. They may also include mood swings, spotting, and PMS-like symptoms. Yes, that can sometimes shorten the length of your period, some women even stop having periods entirely, while taking oral contraceptives. Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?
