needsafestwaytodetoxfromxanexwithoutseizuresihavehadinthepast ## In the future, please make use of your space bar, to make your posts easier to read. The long jumble of words is very hard to decipher. Now, that said, first of all, there are no Percocet tablets on the market that contain 20mgs of Oxycodone, the maximum available is 10mgs. As to detoxing, if you have experienced seizures before, you should probably look into a safe alternative, such as treatment with Suboxone. It contains Buprenoprhine and Naloxone. It is given when you are in the early withdrawal stages and is slowly tapered, to prevent the worst of the withdrawal effects and help you stay drug free. Are there any questions or comments? ## There ARE 20mg Percocet. They do not contain Tylenol. ## I'm questioning your ...

Hi, I want to wean off Oxycodone 5/325 onto Codeine with Acetominophen 30/300. I take one and a half every four hours or so. Can I start reducing the amount of Oxycodone to one, and then half and in the meantime start taking one one of the Codeine and working up to two as I taper down? ## I do think that is a wise approach, however, there is an interaction between Oxycodone and Codeine. This interaction states the following: "MONITOR: Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients." "MANAGEMENT: During concomitant use of these drugs, patients should be monitored for potentially excessive or prolonged CNS and r...

If I was able to stop taking Percocet, can I take again without having to go through withdrawals again? I don't want to go through that again, but if I don't abuse will it start all over again? ## Just following; sorry I can't help you. ## No, if you take it for a long period of time again, even if you don't abuse it, your body will, once again, become dependent on it and a sudden cessation will result in some withdrawal effects. This is completely and the only way to try to avoid such would be by doing a slow taper off of a medication, rather than suddenly stopping it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Okay, so say I stay clean for a month, if I take a couple perk 10's just one night maybe once a month or twice a month will I have withdrawl symptoms like I ...

Back surgery 2 yrs ago and I have been taking percocet for that amount of time to help with back and leg pain 1 or 2 tabs a day ...... how do I stop am sure if I stop suddenly there will be some effect to my system ## Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. In addition to that, I'd also suggest making yourself a tapering schedule on a calendar to track your progress and keep you on the right path to complete your goal within a specific time frame (even if it takes a few months). Without a way to track your progre...

How can I safely titrate off Percocet? ## Have you discussed it with your doctor? And how much have you been taking and how often? Since it does contain Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, it can cause withdrawal symptoms, if you stop abruptly, so it is usually a good idea to taper slowly to prevent the worst of them and, it may sometimes require some supportive therapy, because you may experience rebound pain, diarrhea, anxiety and trouble sleeping.

I have been taking percocet on and off for about 16 years now due to chronic kidney stones. I attempted to taper off 10mg oxycodone and ended yesterday with only .5 in the morning and have felt like s***. No sleep last night, chills, goosebumps, nausea, diarrhea. This is even with tapering down. Should I just keep going cold turkey or get more to do a better taper?? ## Those are all normal withdrawal effects, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience fever and rebound pain. Stopping it after being on it for so many years is bound to cause you to experience some withdrawal symptoms and it may take a week or 2, before they taper off and then go away entirely. However, adding it back to do another taper would just be causing you to start over and you'd still be likely to experience...

What are the side effects going to be if I stop taking robaxin and pecocet all at one time? ## The FDA warns that you may experience fever, chills, rebound pain, rebound insomnia, and irritability. What are you stopping abruptly? A slow taper is usually the best thing to do. Are you on any other medications? How long have you been taking them?

I have been on 80 mgs of Percocet for a number of ailments for 9years and now because of some kind of law I only get 22,5 mgs a day. I am 62 years old, got hurt 24 years ago and I continued to work even thought I was in pain untio 2007, now I am on disability. have been able to control pain with Percocet. what I don't understand is the fact that I never asked for pain meds but they were prescribed almost 10 years ago and then they r reduced to 1/4 of the strength. ## They will provide you with FREE treatment options. You will not EVER get meds like that again in INDIANA. We are the second strictest state now. They began tapering my hubby off 1/4, then another 1/4, and again 1/4 until he is on 25% of beginning doses after four months. ALL BEFORE the law took affect in December. ## I ...

Hello! I was given 15mg 4x's day by dr if oxycodone. My insurance will no longer cover so I have tapered down to 15 mg every 24 hrs. I cut one pill 4 ways and take a piece which is 3.75 mg every 6 hrs depending on discomfort pain. I really need to taper down enough to stop taking without the horrible side effects of withdrawl. I went thru this in feb cold turkey off Percocet (4 years at 60mg day) and landed in the ER where they put me on Tramadol for 3 months then switched me to Oxycodone. I really want this stuff out of me so at this point what would be a safe taper and at what point should I stop taking all together? I did ask my dr and his response was keep taking less. Useless!!! Any honest safe advice would be appreciated. I have come down so far in doses and really want to jus...

I've been on 130 mg methadone a day for over a year... i got cut off so now i'm withdrawing.. Will taking Percocet and .5mg claudapins help the withdrawal symptoms? ## It will help, ever so slightly Easiest way to withdrawal, Taper methadone down every two weeks I would start at 100 Take 100 for 2 weeks Go to 80 for 2 weeks Go to 60 for two weeks 40 35 Then at 35 or 30 Start taking it every other day Stay off for 5 days, then switch to suboxone Suboxone for 2 months until you take nothing This way you won't suffer from the acute withdrawal syndrome for the next 3 months I stopped cold turkey at 60 after being on it for years, I had no energy for 3 months ## No offense do nottake that advice that is way too aggressive you can die are you extremely sick please be careful what ...

I have been takin only up to 30 mg of percocet a day for the past eight months, I know that don't sound like a lot but I tried to quit and couldn't handle the withdrawals so I bought five suboxone 2mg and I'm wondering how I should go about treating myself, I want to be done with this, my life has turned upside down. Please help ## In reality, Suboxone is probably far too strong of a medication to be used for this, it is generally only used for people with severe addiction problems, that have been doing drugs and steadily increasing the amounts of them that they've been using for years. Doctors are also specially trained in the use of Suboxone, because the initial dosage has to be carefully calculated, to prevent withdrawals and then slowly tapered, over time, to enable ...

SUBOXONE TAPER I FINISHED TWO DAYS AGO CAN I TAKE A PERCOCET . PEOPLE AT THE CENTER I WENT TO SAID I WOULD DIE . I JUST AM IN PAIN ..PLEASE HELP .. ## Lol...u can take any pain med after suboxone...just not before ## I took a half of zubsolv earlier will it hurt to take a nurotin 400 or tramdol 50mg ## Taking A opioid after any kind of buprenorphine is a waste of time and money and never take methadone then suboxone you'll think here in hell ## Lewis is correct, taking an opiate within several days of stopping Suboxone is a waste, since it will negate the effects. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Neurontin, however, it not an opiate and will not cau...

I had a knee surgery yesterday. I have been using subutex to help me taper narcotics. I stopped the subutex 2 weeks before surgery. My doctor prescribed both percocet and oxycontin. I am getting no pain relief. The iv Dilaudid worked in the hospital. Has anyone taken Dilaudid by pill at home? ## I have suffered with chronic neck and back pain for years due to disk and nerve problems. My Dr. switched me from oxycontin to diulaudid (4-8 mg) and it worked for the first 9 mos. or so, then I got no relief. Many people get sick on it or very itchy. I am now on a higher dosage of Percoset. ## Are you familiar with subutex? ## No, I'm not. ## It is a new drug that has some pain killing ability. It is a controlled substance. When you take it other narcotics don't work. So it is good for ...

Hi, I was taking 40-100 mg of Percocet a day- I weaned off and took about 10-40 mg of hydrocodone a day. I was feeling sick and got 10 mg methadone pills. I took 20 mg the first night-I did get a euphoric feeling and woke up with a terrible headache. I took 15 mg of methadone last night to continue taper going down to 1 10 mg of methadone tonight and 5 mg tomorrow, and hoping I won't feel withdrawal but my head hurts so bad-it feels as if it is going to combust. I can barely text this. Am I going to feel worse or better? My body aches all over as well. Did I overdose myself? Is this normal??? ## Hi DMM, you may be going through some withdrawals with some of your symptoms. It's difficult to detox yourself off opiates without medical intervention. The professionals know how much m...

Hello. I was on percocet, oxycodone, and opana for 4 yrs, then got on a suboxone treatment plan, and was stuck on the never ending train ride of trying to get off suboxone effectively and for good...... And I DID!! NOT 1 single withdrawal, none!!! And the god sent was Imodium (Loperamide) 2mg of an opioid (NOT OPIATE) little green (off brand) pill, saved my life, my sanity, my kids upbringing and my relationship w/everyone around me...... I tapered as small as I could as quick as i could (Dr office was shutting its door for good) I wanted to be done. Day ..1. of withdrawal I took 30mg of Imodium and I didn't feel bad, just no energy, no biggie, later that night i felt uneasy and restless, so I decided to take another 30mg and slept all through the night!!! Next morning day 2 woke up...

I take 5 mgs. of percocet twice daily for approximately 2years now. I am so tired of taking them. today I didn't take any and I feel a pressure in my head. My last one was about 12 midnight. Is this gonna get worse? ## Hi BB, The exact progression of oxycodone withdrawal may be different for each individual. However, from what I hear, symptoms tend to get worse over the first few days before leveling out. Usually for drugs like this, the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, under a doctor's supervision; if possible. Failure to taper may result in much more severe withdrawal symptoms than you might originally anticipate; and could even prolong the withdrawal process over several weeks. For some people with a high tolerance, 10mgs is not a lot. But since you'v...

I've been taking this for a severe foot injury now after my second surgery I want to stop altogether! Before I started taking ms contin my pain doctor had me on percocet 10/325 6 tablets daily. I'm in much less pain and I'm tired of the side effects! How do pain management doctors wean people off of this? ## They decrease the daily dosage. Talk to your dr and tell him that you pain is less and that you want to taper off of the MS Contin. Tell him that there are times that you still need pain meds, but not 27/7.
