percocet dosage limits 5/325

I am taking the percocet 512 white tablets 5mg/325 for severe back pain due to degenerating disc(s). I have been told 1 pill every 8 hours, but find the pain so excruciating after about 5 hours that I cannot even stand... even to use the bathroom or shower. My MD cannot get me into a specialist until August, but I am having real stress here. Will it be harmful for me to take more than the one tablet per 8 hours?? ## your comment seems strange to me brcause my MD prescribed me some of same percocet and on the bottle it says take 1 or 2 tablets every 4 or 6 hours according to pain or even as needed for pain. I have been taking 2 every 9 or 10 hours Lately, though, I realize that if I do not take a pill I start to feel pain in my shoulders, and my chest is agitated. So I just stopped takin......

percocet vs norco

I'm taking percocet 10/650mg. I have (DDD), (Athritis), and the list goes on. I have a friend on Norco. Can you tell me what the difference is between them and the highest mg the norco comes in? THANK YOU SO MUCH! ## The Percocet is way better then the Norco, and the reason is because Percocet contains Oxycodone and Norco contains Hydrocodone. What im trying to say is Oxycodone is a stronger and longer lasting Opiate then Norco. {Edited for safety} just make sure to watch how much Tylenol/Acetaminophen ur taking, try not to take more 4000 to 5000mgs cause it can damage ur liver. The best Percocet you can get is 10-650 and 10-325 The best Norco you can get is 10-325 or Lorcets which are 10-650 . Hope this helped in anyway at all and fell free to ask me any questions u have about Pers......

Percocet addiction and withdrawal

Someone please tell me how long it takes to withdrawal from percocet and what is expected day by day? ## it can take anywhere from a week to 6 months depending on the detox program you chose now the question of day to day the sun rises, the sunsets, the sun rises again day to day ## Please go to the discussion on Oxycontin, which is Percocet in a slow release form, and read my full account of detoxing at home off high doses of this medication, the physical and mental issues to expect while withdrawing and some tips to help you get through the withdrawl. You can do it. You will know you've found the right discussion if you see my name and postings at the start of the discussion which I began a year ago. I am now Oxycontin free and did it at home. ## Percocet and Oxycontin are not the......

Percocet vs Tramacet

Hi. I'd like information comparing Percocet (Oxycodone / Acetaminophen) and Tramacet (Tramadol hydrochloride / Acetaminophen). Is Percocet a stronger more powerful pain killer than Tramacet? If so, by how much? If you have been taking Percocet are you likely to get the same effect from Tramacet? Is there a chart somewhere that compares or ranks all pain killers comparatively? If so please tell me where. Thanks - good health to you all ## The Tramadol is not actually a narcotic, it is derived from an opiated, but it is not actually one, so it is therefore nowhere near as strong as the Percocet, which contains a strong narcotic Oxycodone. ## She asked about Tramacet not Tramadol. Tramacet is an opiate as is Percocet. As for the chart listing different opiates and their strengths, I wo......

percocet/oxycodone m523 10/325

Hello all, First off I'm new to posting here and I must admit this is probably a topic that is quite frequent and I have done days searching but can't seem to really find any info on my specific situation. I apologize in advance for the long post but I will introduce myself and situation. I've been on oxycodone 10/325 for a little over a year now from a botched foot surgery and diabetic neuropathy in this same foot. It helps tremendously and seems to be the only relief I can get is from taking these. Whether its first thing in the morning to be able to stand up and get moving or whether it's to let me settle down and drift off to sleep which is something fairly hard to do. I also was recently diagnosed with PTSD from my job and I am currently out of work for this. It is ......

percocet blue pill alv 196

Does it have less Tylenol than other brands and are they just as strong as other brands? ## Hello, Chazzy! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Alvogen and they list it as containing 325mgs of Acetaminophen/Tylenol and 5mgs of Oxycodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I still have several left from the time I had a kidney stone and they worked great for me. Is there anything else I can help with? ## This blue percocet seems to me like it has some type of stuff in it that causes it to gel. Anyone else get that? Also leaves a extra bad taste in my mouth. ## Hi I'm a RN. Pharmaceutical companies started making opi......

Percocet 20 mg

Does percocet come in 20mg? ## I'm assuming you're referring to the amount of the narcotic in it, the Oxycodone? If so, then NO, it does not. Percocet, which contains the Oxycodone, coupled with Acetaminophen, is only available in a maximum dosage of 10mgs Oxycodone and 650mgs of Acetaminophen. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and dizziness. (It should be noted that as a separate medication, by itself, Oxycodone IS available in much higher dosages!) ## Percocet comes in 15 and 30 mg tablet too so apparently you don't know what you're talking about {editor's note: message deemed inaccurate} ## That's wrong - Percocet come in 5mg. 7.5mg and 10 mg. That's it. You must be talking about Oxycodone by itself! ## {message removed due to......

Percocet generic report on phasing out opioids by the year 2021

I got a report to read from the FDA sent from the DEA on generic Percocet from a friend's family member that works for the FDA. The report said that in their discussions they came up with a plan to stop people from dying from overdoses & addiction. Said Generic Percocet is the most abused medicine on the market. They have in place a 20% tolerance on generic pain medication and they deemed this wasn't helping the abuse of Percocet. People have been complaining in the thousands about Rhodes Pharmaceuticals and others not putting the correct amount of opioid in generic Percocet plus it seems to be making people sick. In the report not only are they decreasing the 20%, but also adding 50% to the 20% so you're getting 70% less of the active ingredient in Rhodes/Purdue Pharmac......

Percocet Vs Opana

I have Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia, Diabetes #2, Sciatica down both legs, Piriformis Syndrome, L4 L5 S1 Vertabre Fracture x2, Osteoarthritis in my spine, knees, thumbs, feet! Chronic numbness down my right leg, groin area that hurts like hell. I started out taking Darvocet and have worked my way up to Percocet 325/10 for the last 3 years. I was wondering IF Opana would work better? My doctor wanted to put me on Oxycotin, but of course my insurance won't pay for it, not even with a required PA! So according to Medicare Part D (which I have) they need a PA for Oxycotin, but not one for Opana! Oxycotin is considered a class 3 and Opana a class 2 drug! So is Opana as strong as Oxycotin? Are they both stronger than Percocet? I tried Morphine Sulfate 10 mgs about 3 years ago, and it did NO......

Percocet 30mg Immediate Release?

I've been taking 240 Percocet 10/325 for over 10 yrs with 60 mg MS Contin twice a day for breakthrough pain. When I'm out of the blue my doctor sends me to a pain management specialist because he says he can't write for any narcotic over 120 tabs a month. I go to this new doc who wants to inj. something in my spine in an area he calls the sweet spot, and that I have been over medicated by my other doctor but only after a MRI which I had and I went back after my scan and it turns out I don't have a sweet spot. My thecal sac is 5.4 and gets worse the lower it goes. So he sends me to a surgeon with a script for Percocet 15 mg and it's not touching my pain. I was wondering if I should request something stronger? I was at least able to function with my old med plan but I......
