I Havent seen Pepcid on the shelf Of any of the stores that I visit . Do you know why? ## It appears that there were certain lots of the brand name product that was recalled due to some of the bottles being punctured during the manufacturing process. There is a generic available, as most stores, that is called Famotidine, it is the active ingredient in Pepcid and therefore works the same. Have you tried it? I use the generic/store brand and it works fine. ## It appears the recall was back in early August. It's surprising Pepcid was just taken off the shelves of our local WalMart (Las Cruces, NM), a couple of days ago. We agree with Verwon--the generic, famotidine, works fine. I've been taking the perscription drug Ziac for hypertension for 2 months. In the last week I have developed bad heartburn. Is it o.k. to take Pepcid Complete while taking Ziac? ## It is perfectly safe to take Pepcid or any other type of antacid with Ziac; however, you really should read the indications and interactions. There is a whole list of medications that cannot be mixed with Ziac. Pepcid or antacids are not one of them. ## That is actually incorrect, taking some antacids with Ziac may cause an elevation in your calcium levels, due to the calcium carbonate in the antacid, and they Hydrochlorothiazide in the Ziac. The FDA has issued prominent warnings about this danger. Additionally, Hydrochlorothiazide taken with magnesium in the Pepcid Complete could result in a laxative typ...

However, it's difficult to know what any given medication may cause in any given person that tries it, it could also be due to some other issue. Have you had your doctor look at it, yet? That would be the best thing to do, to be sure. Other side effects may include drowsiness and flatulence.

Where can I purchase Pepcid Complete Mint Tablets? I live in the Bay Area of California and the major stores no longer stock it. I cannot locate the product on-line. ## I'm sorry, but it appears that they area no longer being manufactured, which explains why most places are listing them as being out of stock. In reality, this does make sense, because for many people any type of mint can cause worsening of heartburn symptoms, so they probably didn't sell very well. There are, however, other Pepcid products available on the market, so have you tried an alternative?

The difference between omepprazole dr and pNepcid ac ## They are both different medications in different drug classes. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor, it helps reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach by shutting down some of the proton pumps that produce the acid. Learn more Omeprazole details here.
