I was at clinical this week and my client had a low urine output from the previous 8 hour shift (100ml/ 8hrs). I heard the nurses report and pentaspan was mentioned. I didn't ask at the time because I didn't want to sound dumb, but what the heck does pentaspan actually do? I'm pretty sure it increases urine output, but having a hard time researching this drug and figuring out exactly what it does, and how it works on the body. Can anyone explain? ## The information available on it is very limited and it really hasn't been shown to have any benefit over other choices, but you can find some details under Pentastarch. Learn more Pentastarch details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

are they like hydrocodine ## Hi cole, Pentazocine isn't exactly like Hydrocodone because it is a different medication with a different formula. However, it's a narcotic like Hydrocodone. Pentazocine is sold under several brand names, such as Fortral, Talwin NX (with the µ-antagonist naloxone, will cause withdrawal in opioid dependent persons on injection), Talwin, Talwin PX (without naloxone), Fortwin (Lactate injectable form) and Talacen (with acetaminophen). Iam looking for pain med for torn manicus but im allergic to codine ## Hello chellymmm, I have identified a green oval/elliptical shaped pill with the imprint WATSON 395 50 0 .5 as Naloxone hydrochloride and Pentazocine hydrochloride. It contains (0.5 mg) of Naloxone and (50 mg) of Pentazocine. Manufacturer: Watson Pharmaceuticals National Drug Code (NDC): 00591-0395 Based on my research, this medication doesn't actually contain codeine. However, studies have shown that a (50 mg) dose-when administered orally- appears to have an equivalent analgesic effect to (60 mg) or 1 grain of codeine. What has been your experience with Pentazocine? ## I would like to know any research at all on pentazocine. ## Pentazocine is not for everybody. Personally, I love Pentazocine, that is pure Pentazocine HCI, as manufactured in Canada as "Talwin-P" 50 mg, by Sanofi, also mfg in Italy, as Talwin pure, other countries offering pure pentazocine tablets, Spain as "Sosegon" 25 mg, Pakistan as "Sosegon", Austria/Netherlands/Germany/Cz Republic/as "Fortral", Thailand as "Pangon", Belgium as "Fortal" & United Kingdom as "Fortral" It was re-classified under a tighter controlled substance schedule in the EU, and, has fallen in disfavor unfortunately, since that 2003 conference in Austria. Only Krka and Sanofi are the major manufacturers le...

it's a form of oxycodone + acetaminophen ## Hi rudy, Are there imprints on the tablet as well or does it not have any markings? Reason I ask is because I actually came across several different pentagon shaped yellow pills. However, all of them happen to have imprints of some sort. My findings of pentagon shaped yellow pills include the following medications: Cyclobenzaprine 10mg Dexamethasone 0.5mg Effexor 50mg Flexeril 10mg If you could please post back with any additional information on potential markings and maybe even where the pill originated from, this may help narrow down our search efforts. Does anyone else here recognize this tablet?
