patient said he found an herb or something like that and it helped his parkinson's symptoms. He said it was Trimidon but was not sure of the spelling. ## I'm sorry, but I can't find anything on this, it is very difficult, because this site doesn't know if it was the brand name for something, the herbal ingredient itself, something ayurvedic, or etc. I've looked at several resources and can't find anything listed that's even close to that name. Does anyone else know? ## I have found reference to a drug in homeopathy by the name of Theridion. Is this the drug you are referring? Can you please confirm? My bother is also suffering from acute PD.

Parkinson's disease (also known as Parkinson disease, Parkinson's, idiopathic parkinsonism, primary parkinsonism, PD, hypokinetic rigid syndrome/HRS, or paralysis agitans) is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system. The motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease result from the death of dopamine-generating cells in the substantia nigra, a region of the midbrain; the cause of this cell death is unknown. Early in the course of the disease, the most obvious symptoms are movement-related...

I have a patient who has Parkinson's and doesn't tremor until after she takes the mirapex. Shouldn't it be opposite? Shouldn't it stop tremors not start them? ## Hello, Cathy! How is your patient? Unfortunately, that can be a side effect of this medication, according to the U.S. FDA, along with nausea, confusion, cough, and double vision. All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, no matter what the are intended to treat. Is she on any other medications?

What drugs are substituted for Cardizem that don't cause PD symptoms? ## I am 40 years old and have been suffering from parkinson's disease for the past 17 years now. My mother has Parkinson's (we think) was on Sinimet and Carbadopaleva and they took her off of that and now put her on Abilify and Ultram and now she can't talk suddenly and cries and is suicidal. For 3 years we have felt she's been overdrugged. Her mind is OK until they pump more drugs in her. ## Low Dose Abilify increases dopamine and increases mood. High dose abilify blocks dopamine. It sounds like the doctor needs to reconsider the dose ASAP. See Below: How Abilify works: Burris KD, Molski TF, Xu C, Ryan E, Tottori K, Kikuchi T, Yocca FD, Molinoff PB.

Is it safe to give Dilaudid to patient who is on Levocarb 100/25, 12 pills daily and Levocarb CR 100/25, 6 pills daily? ## Hello, Janie! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these medications, but the final decision is always up to the patient and their doctor. The FDA classifies Dilaudid as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are these the only medications they are on?

My husband was prescribed Oxybutynin over two weeks ago, after a week the dose was increased to two tablets a day. He has Parkinson's disease and takes Sinemet and Ropineral. Over the past few days, his Parkinson's which was controlled has now spiraled to the point where his mobility and tremors are badly affected. Could this be connected to the Oxybutynin? This condition worsens as the day progresses. ## Yes, the NCBI actually does report that is has been known to worsen cognitive function in those that have Parkinson's. This has also been noted in studies by other groups, such as SafeRX, and some government clinical trials. What dosage is he currently taking? Why was it prescribed and what other medications does he take?

Stalevo side effects.i have Parkinson's and recently got a whole host of problems including off scale Dyskinesia and manic behaviour and rigid jaw and tensions in my neck ... these have together caused huge problems and my health has deteriorated. I wonder how to distinguish what is P Disease symptom from side effect or drug interaction. Many of the new problems started after a change from Madopar to Stalevo which went wrong... and proved to be an overdose. It was also done when I was taking rasagaline... Drug interaction rasagaline clonzapam, links to or causes of Serotonin syndrome.

My mother had taken sinemet for about 6 years, but her doctor had recently changed it for Rytary because sinemet was not helping her anymore. Since she is taking Rytary 36.25 mg/145 mg 4 times a day, she had felt better except for the dyskinesia she had for the past month. However, she started feeling muscle weakness 4 days ago. It looks like she is starting to have dystonia in her left hip and leg. Im not pretty sure if she has that but she shows symptoms of such. She starts to have that symptom after the third dose of Rytary like after 2:30pm. I dont know if she has that because of the med side effects or she is having that because its part of the disease progression. Im honestly concerned about it. Can anyone tell me if dystonia or muscle weakness is one of the Rytary's side effe...

I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. Could please post back and be more specific about the symptoms you're experiencing? That would enable me to better help you. Given to much of the drug. Added an extra pill to his night time pills. Have trouble with seeing things ## Hello, Ben! How are you? How much is he taking? The typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, blurred vision, headache, irritability and insomnia. However, hallucinations have been reported to occur in about 1 to 5% of patients that take it. Has his doctor been informed?

I was the first person on earth to test Neotrofin against Parkinson's in 2002 at the Parkinson's & Movement Disorder Institute in Fountain Valley California. This drug worked wonders and I was hoping that the FDA would rush approval for it to be used against several brain diseases. I then learned that the manufacturer of Neotrofin went out of business and refused to turn over the rights to anybody. I thought that was such a tragedy to humanity. This drug had absolutely NO side effects. You could not tell you had any medicine in your body. It helped my Parkinson's symptoms for up to 4 months after i stopped taking it. This website is the first that I have found that looks like the drug is in use. I hope it's not an old site telling me that Neotrofin is not available. ...

I have essential tremor and I have recently been prescribed chlorthalid. I would like to know if there is newer information on the side effects of chlorthalid and Parkinson disease? ## Hello, Danny! How are you? I've not found any warnings or contraindications for those taking it that have Parkinson's. However, as listed by the FDA, it may cause musculoskeletal weakness, as side effect, which may make the tremors seem worse. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and dehydration. Have you also checked with your doctor to be sure?

She's taking MiraPex for either Essential tremor or Parkinson's (we dont know what her doctor told her...) ## Is it dangerous for a 31 year old female to take this for restless legs? ## At the age of 44 I have RLS and I am on day 4 of 0.5mg Mirpex, I can say this It's a miracle I wish it was available yrs ago. Are there any generic versions of this tablet either er or direct version which contain different coloring ingredients than the original sinmet product? ## @Dr. Perry, From what I could gather, Sinemet (Carbidopa + Levodopa) by Merck Pharma reportedly contains the following inactive ingredients: hydroxypropyl cellulose + pregelatinized starch + crospovidone + microcrystalline cellulose + magnesium stearate. NOTE: FD&C Blue #2 are also present in the 10mg/100mg and 25mg/250mg dosage forms; whereas D&C Yellow #10 Lake is used in the 25mg/100mg dosage form. As far as an alternative goes, I did notice that Sandoz makes a generic Carbidopa + Levodopa (w/ the addition of Entacapone) marketed for treating similar conditions, but does have a different list of inactive ingredients: corn ...
