I was taking bupropion MPI 3332, round white tablet(Generic Welbutrin 30xl), I changed pharmacies and recieved this white oblong caplet with M B9 printed on one side. I felt alot of anxity start to build over the next few days and the one cigarette I had finally worked down to(ultra light 72 [the teeny shot ones]), was now back up to half pack or more and full on regular light 100's! I thought nothing of it other than a breif passing moment while in the pharmacy and that was that. Well now hindsight 20/20 I think these are crap and switch backed to my old pharmacy and doing much better. ## Hi T Beau, Sorry to hear about your experience with that other generic you switched over to. From what I understand, there could've been a lot less of the actual active ingredients in that par...

Any reported trouble with the 300XL or 150 XL not digesting? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? This subject has been mentioned frequently in regards to several time released medications and, just as I have with everyone else, I can assure you that if you are seeing the tablet in your feces, you are just seeing the outer shell. The medication, however, is still absorbed and used by your body. There is a type of time released formulation that uses a substance that is almost similar to a little sponge in the pill, it and the medication are sealed inside the shell. Two tiny spots are left with just a thin outer covering over them, so that thin layer dissolves almost immediately, when the tablet meets your stomach acid. Then, minuscule amounts of your stomach acid are slowly absorbed through one o...

Hello I was just prescribed 100 mg of bupropion sr twice a day. It's a blue pill that says E410. I was wondering if this pill causes weight gain? ## Hi Ali, How are you? Contrary to what you might be experiencing, the drug monograph for Bupropion only lists "weight loss" as a general side effect, and nothing to do with weight gain in that regard. However digging a little deeper I did notice other individuals post their concerns about having problems with gaining extra weight while they were taking Bupropion. With that said, part of me does wonder if taking this medication may have resulted in certain changes in behavioral/emotional patterns when it comes to eating more or less food throughout the day. The ironic part is that it also lists "loss of appetite" as a pote...

My pharmacy gave me Bupropion XL 300 mg by Par. I thought I'd managed to take every generic Bupropion out there, but this is new to me. I'm not finding a lot of information on line. I know everybody may respond to something differently, but I'd be interested in reading any comments from folks out there who have tried this formulation. I seem to respond at least a little differently to each generic I take, and have had one or two that caused big problems. ## Hello, Lainey! How are you? I understand what you're saying, some people can be sensitive to any slight fluctuation in a medication, I am one of them. There have been several people that have complained about the Par Bupropion, but not all. We are all different, so the only thing you can really do is try it and see ho...

I've been taking Watson bupropion 150 XL (first 2 daily, then increased to 3 daily) for many years. I found all the other generics ineffective or worse.( I took brand before generics were approved). When the FDA declared testing showed Watson 300 XL and two other generics were not found to be bioequivalent to brand, Watson "voluntarily" withdrew the 300 XL. Evidently the 150 XL was also taken off the market, because it cannot be found anywhere, either in mail order or retail pharmacies. Does Watson's Acquisition of Actavis mean the Actavis buproprion is Watson's formula or Actavis'? I'd be interested in more feedback here on the Actavis generic and the Par that I'm now taking, which for me is the equivalent of taking absolutely nothing. I've been so s...

I've been taking the generic brand PAR of Buproion LX 300MG for over 2 years and haven't run into any problems. Walgreens switched the brand to Actavis generic this month and I feel extremely depressed. I plan on seeking medical attention from my doctor right away-- but I'd like to hear about your experiences to not feel so alone. I started taking Actavis around January 15th and I've noticed my mood has completely shifted and no longer feel like myself. PAR seemed to work well for me. Before I switched brands my depression was manageable but now it's out of control. I constantly feel angry, annoyed, and highly irritated and it scares me. Can generic brands of the same exact medication cause your mental health to decline? ## Hi Emma, Sorry to hear about your reaction ...

I’ve been taking bupropion xl 150mg for a couple months now and recently switching to taking 300mg. I had some left of the 150mg so my doctor told me to just take 2 til they run out if I want. Anyhow the manufacturer I’ve been taking is Lupin... my depression is under control for the most part, but the energy didn’t last longer than a week or 2. Also this brand has given me serious constipation and food cravings!!! Picked up my new prescription for 300mg by Mylan today. Will be starting that tomorrow... hopefully it works better than Lupin. Does anyone have any experience about Mylan? ## Those can be typical side effects, especially when your dosage is increased, according to FDA reports. I'm getting my perscription in the morning. i am already an agrivated, agressive person. i'm afraid of this getting worse. any advice? ## Have you started taking it, yet? It may not worsen those traits in your, it may actually help them improve, since it is an antidepressant. Those paradoxical effects don't happen to everyone that takes it. Learn more Bupropion details here. Are you experiencing any side effects? ## I can only speak from my own experience and tell you that it did not happen to me. I am extraordinarily aggressive and sharp with people. It may have leveled me out, paradoxically. ## Hi Julie, I am in the same boat. I haven't found any information on the XL versions of Bupropion by Sandoz. Can anyone share their experience with this pill? I just picked it up today. It's a white, round pill with ST 300 imprinted on it. A search on Sandoz's website came up empty. The NDC # is 0781-5529-10. This is the third manufacturer for the XL 300 mg that I've tried. Cipla's version gave me constipation, and I haven't had any side effects with PAR's. ## Hello, I'm not exactly sure what type of information that you're looking for considering you were able to not only give the imprint, but the NDC as well. For now I will simply provide you with all of the information that the NIH provides for this drug and then you can give me further instruction from there as to what you would l...

Has anyone tried Bupropion XL 300 by Lupin - a round pill marked L016? Just received these from Walgreen's internet pharmacy and I'm very concerned. I started taking this medication about two years ago, the PAR generic, and everything was great. Then, CVS changed to Cipla and things got bad -- it was only thanks to rxchat that I figured out the problem was caused by the new manufacturer. So, I switched to Walgreens, which had Actavis. It was so much better for me than Cipla but not quite as good as PAR. Quite by accident, I found that when ordering from Walgreen's internet pharmacy I got the med manufactured by PAR. All's been good for many months... until I just opened my newest prescription and found it's by a newly approved generic by Lupin. Hopefully it will be f...

Is anyone taking these two drugs together? My pharmacist is concerned, but both my Gastroenterologist (who prescribed it for IBS) and Psychiatrist are not concerned as I have no history of seizures. I also take Lamictal for bipolar, which was originally an anti-seizure drug. Confusing. ## Taking them together can lower your seizure threshold, and the Buproprion can increase the effect of the Amitriptyline, so the dosage of the Bupropion should be kept as low as possible, and your doctor should be monitoring you regularly in case any problems arise. Ref: Medscape Interactions You can use that interaction checker to read more. Medline Plus Amitriptyline and Bupropion. Last month (Feb 2014) my pharmacy filled my prescription for bupropion hcl sr 200mg with product made by actavis. It was an oval yellow pill. I felt dramatically better, and was looking forward to continuing to use the same product. Now it is apparently no longer available because Activis was bought by Watson. My new prescription is a round white tablet with wpi 3335 written on it. Has anyone else had experience with this particular product? Has anyone found success with any other version of this product. It is very frustrating to have so much inconsistancy from one bottle of medication to the next. (Global Pharmaceuticals was so bad that I changed pharmacies to get a better product.) ## Have you tried talking to your pharmacist about the problem? They may be able to order in the one th...

looking for bupropion that is an immediate release pill prefferally white ## From what I've seen, there aren't any generic bupropion tablets that are both white and immediate-release. There are however, other brands of bupropion, such as Aplenzin, which are not extended-release and happen to be white as well. These particular pills are manufactured by Sanofi-Aventis. Teva Pharmaceuticals USA and Sandoz Pharma also make generic, immediate-release bupropion, but the pills are yellow, pink, and purple, as opposed to white. Do they work as well as PAR brand? Any other comments on this brand of Bupropion? ## Do not work as well. And couldn't return them. CVS still uses PAR and CVS policy is to inform before providing different brand. ## PAR Bupropion works better for me, (used 2 years). Get it in CVS by request only. I tried CIPLA for about 4 months, don’t like it at all. Back to PAR. ## Why didn’t they work? What were all your side effects?

Hello, I have been taking 450mg of Bupropion for about 5 or 6 years and my Psychiatrist thought it might be a good idea to lower the dosage to 300mg. What risks am I taking with this? What are some of the possible side effects? What are some other experiences that you have had with this drug?? I am just very worried because I always thought this was the drug that got me out of bed and really on top of things with depression. Now I am starting to wonder if it is frying my brain. Please help with any insight you might have! :D thanks. ## In my opinion, lowering the dose can potentially put your body at risk for a state of temporary withdrawal. Reason I say that is if you've been taking it for years and years, your body has probably become dependent on having that particular dose in yo...

Anyone take generic Wellbutrin made by Par pharmaceuticals? How is it working for you? ## I haven't taken this particular manufacturer's generic form of Wellbutrin (Bupropion), but thought I'd provide some additional information on it for those readers who may be trying to compare it with other brands/generics they may or may not have already tried. Bupropion XL made by Anchen Pharmaceuticals (of whom Par Pharmaceuticals purchased in 2011) are the small white round tablets imprinted in black ink with "A 101" or "A 102" for the 150mg/300mg doses, respectively. The new bottle I received today contained an oblong pill manufactured by Clipla USA. I have been taking a round pill manufactured by PAR. Are these the same except the manufacturer? ## I have always taken Par (their subsidiary Anchen made the bupropion). Today I was told Par has stopped making it and was given Cipla. I have had major issues with other generic brands of Wellbutrin and am nervous about not having Par/Anchen anymore. The other generics were not the same, and bupropion historically has been the subject of many issues with inequitable generics. ## Hello, Kathryn and MK! What are the markings on the pills in question? Sometimes what's listed by the pharmacy is a licensed distributor, rather than the actual manufacturer. Have either of you tried it?
