I recieved a prescription for Pantoprazole Sodium DR 40mg. But my pill looks completely different from what I've had in the past and is different from the descriptions I can find on what it should look like. I have a white, oval tablet with "97" imprinted on one side. The imprints vary between red or black in the same bottle. What do I have in my hands? Any help is appreciated. ## How did you look for it, did you just do a search for what Pantroprazole should look like, or did you search for that imprint? The imprint is what enables a pill to be identified. My father recently took Pantop 40 for the treatment of gastritis along with Opidol (tramadol hydrochloride 50 mg) while he was having the red erythematous patches in his extremities. There were some of patches in the lower abdomen. All these persists along with some abdomen pain. ## Has the gastritis improved, at all? We were receiving the Pantoprazole 40mg EC tablets, yellow~oval~w434. The last refill we received the Pantoprazole 40mg DR tablets, white~oval~KU181. These do not seem to be working as well as the original ones. We were trying to locate the differance between EC and DR. We did discover the DR means delayed release, but found no info on EC. But now my question is does it form a foam in the stomach ??
