its small and round and white (supposed to f*** you up) ## Are you thinking of Percocet ? It's a narcotic pain killer containing Acetaminophen and Propoxyphene. ## WHAT IS A DRUGS PROPER NAME THAT SOUNDS LIKE PANOPON, PANTOPOM, PONTOPAN??

It is a pain pill similar to ultram but stronger and is orange. ## Did you mean Nucynta, which contains the active ingredient Tapentadol? They aren't all orange, but there is one dosage that is and it is very similar to the Tramadol in Ultram, though a bit stronger and more effective at treating pain. Learn more Nucynta details here.

Hello I'm trying to find out the new pain medicine that kids are taking today that replaces the pain pill oxycontin. I saw a show on TV about this but I can't remember what It's called? I think it starts with the letterA? It's the new drug craze today. ## The only one I can think of offhand that starts with an A would be Actiq, it contains the narcotic Fentanyl, which is over 80 times stronger than Morphine and is available as a lollipop, it's a formulation used for slow release of the medication. Does this sound familiar?

I am to start my withdrawal from 2700mg of neurontin this week. I take three 300mg at morning, noon, and dinner. I had tried to go off it myself a few time, but guess I tried to do it too quickly, the pain was terrible. I have been on it for about five years for chronic pain and it doesn't work. I will go down one pill (300) every three weeks or so. I hope this will be slow enough to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Any thought on this would be appreciated. ## Hi, Wanda! How are things going? One warning I'd like to give you is that you do need to do this very slowly and carefully. Since Neurontin is actually an anticonvulsant, a rapid, sudden withdrawal actually creates the risk of suffering seizures. You've already experienced the rebound pain that can happen from doing it too...

For several months I was taking Coreg tabs, 12.5 mg 2X day. I had mitral valve repair, and my MD doubled my dosage. Now I can barely move or concentrate--and have almost no energy. How long does getting acclimated to this drug at my docage take. I find this drug's side affects to be almost worse than my symptoms??? ## According to the FDA, Coreg may cause dizziness, fatigue, increased urination, joint pain, and vision changes as side effects. Ref: Coreg Information How long have you been on the new dosage? Typically, side effects last about 4 to 5 weeks, until your body gets used to the new dose.

My mom is experiencing severe knee pain since taking Eliquis. She and doctor have taken her off the medication. How long will it take before she begins to feel relief since discontinuing the drug? ## Hello, Kath1234! How is your mom feeling? How long was she taking it? Depending on the length of time and dosage, it may take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks, before it eases off and she starts to feel better. The FDA lists the other typical side effects of Xarelto as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. ## Thank you for the information! She is still hurting. I will let her know about how long it can take. It is scary for her. A chance of a Blood Clot or not being able to walk. ## My mom is doing 100% better since going off Eliquis. It obv...

I WAS PRESCRIBED SAVELLA FOR NEUROPATHY. I'M NOW ON THE HIGHER DOSE WITH LOTS OF HOT FLASHES. PRETTY FOGGY WITH IT ALSO. AS FAR AS THE PAIN, IT SEEMS TO BE HELPING. I'M HOPING THESE HOT FLASHES SUBSIDE AS TIME GOES BY. ## Both of the symptoms you stated can be normal side effects of this medication. How long have you been taking it, now? It may take about 2 weeks, or so, but the side effects should start to taper off as your body adjusts to the medication, but can expect to experience them, again, anytime you are given a higher dosage. My wife is on tasigna for over a year now and has gad some moderate heart problems first a slim heart rate 50bpm then latter up to 170bpm. Not on the same day. But also a lot of unexplained pains. Dr says it's not tasigna but only started happening once started on them ## According to the U.S. FDA it can cause those types of symptoms as side effects. She may also experience nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, difficulty moving and loss of voice. How long will she be taking it? Does she take any other medications? ## I would check out all the lawsuits lately, it’s insane the conditions tasigna can cause! I reached out because of my own terrible side effects.

Is there a certain mg that one should be taking when starting on Belbuca? ## Ideally, your doctor should determine the dose based on your pain levels, as well as your response to similar medications. The manufacturer, and FDA recommend starting with the lowest possible effective dosage, for the shortest possible treatment duration. The FDA also warns that Belbuca carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth, and headache. Ref: Belbuca.com What dosage has your doctor suggested?

Tuesday I have an appointment scheduled with a suboxone doctor. I have became addicted to opiates in 2005 after I had surgery. I was able to sober up on my own for around a year in 2008 but I relapsed and in the past 2 years I dont think I've had even one sober day. I work, run my household, take care of my children but I just can't seem to function without something in my system. I am ready to be the person I was before I started abusing pain meds (and anything else I couls get my hands on). Im going to 3 meetings a week and a therapist to help me along the way.. but i just need someone to answer me honestly, do these really work? I don't know if I can handle living this way much longer so I really hope its "yes" ## Hi, Yes they work BUT unless you have a real bad h...

Five years ago I was prescribed the Fentanyl patch for a rare autoimmune disease that literally destroys your shoulder and hip and thigh muscles. The highest I've ever gone is 100mcg. For the first two years I was in heaven. No pain. But something else started happening. Yes, it numbed the pain but it also numbed every other emotion. No libido. No desire to be with friends or family. No desire to do anything but lay in bed and watch television. I would dose off in the middle of a conversation. I was also on very serious DMARDS which caused me to throw up, lose hair, etc. And like most of you, there were several times I lost a patch, or put one on too soon, etc. and ended up in withdrawals until I could get the new script from my PM doc. The worst withdrawals EVER. Three months ago I...

I take 160 mg of Oxycodone a day. It does not help my pain it only makes me not care about my pain. I still take this but 2 months ago I happened onto a life saving med....Mucinex 600 mg extended release. This medicine has changed my pain level dramatically. I know they dont understand why in the studies but it is helping people to live more pain controlled. If you also take this please reply to this. I want to see if other people know about this wonderful med that doesnt give you side affects. If you havent tried it I beg you to do so it could mean decreased pain and you can buy it at about any grocery or drug store without a script. Before starting this med, even with the high amounts of pain killer I could hardly get out of bed or walk ...now I am living again!! Yes, I still take my p...

In pain. used op80s twice daily for pain mgmt. Noticed tolerance level went from 20 mgs and up...very fast. realizing my body became dependent in just four months....I quit cold turkey. On day 7 now with just the runs. First time on these so I guess I don't really know what was to be expected. Anyway, I'm in pain but scared to take my meds again at a lower dosage. If I took a 30 mg now, will I have to go thru withdraws all over again? ## No insurance, saved n spent just to go to a pain dr to get on these damn evil pills. My pain Dr. by my suggestion wrote me a prescription for Suboxene but without instructions how to take. Do I have to stop the opiod pain meds a certain amt of hrs prior to taking my first Suboxene? Ive been told no can stop the night before and take Sub next AM....also read need to stop opiods 48-72 hrs prior to starting. Can someone with experience please instruct me on what to do. The pharmacist wasn't very helpful either. Thanks in advance. ## Hello, Mickey! How are you? You must be in full withdrawal, before starting Suboxone, otherwise it could throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. There is no specific time frame, it can vary from person to person. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effe...

Back in the hospital and the doctors are having a hard time finding an IV medication that will help lessen the chest pain from my pneumonia. I wear Fentanyl 75 mcg (changed every 72 hrs). Health issues; crps/rsd, ankylosing spondylitis, Arnold Chiari Malformation, Pudenal Neuralgia, are just the top my health issues. ## Hi Loveday, I don't know how much help this will be, but I was able to find a pretty extensive list of medications starting with "P". Perhaps one of the names on there might ring a bell?: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/drug_Pa.html If anyone else can post back with more information on other possibilities that would be great!

I am having a hip replacement but am on a waiting list, and the pain is awful. I need to take a pain reliever, but it has to be one that does not have acetaminophen or any other drugs that cause bleeding. I want to know if there is anything available other than just plain Ibuphrohen as it is not strong enough to help. ## Ibuprofen can also cause some blood thinning, just like the Acetaminophen, so can other NSAIDs. Have you consulted your doctor? There are some narcotic medications available that may be better for you to use. ## For God's sake this is a situation which causes pain that no NSAID or mild analgesic is going to help in the least. The mildest I would recommend would be dihydrocodeine but I doubt that is strong enough. Sevredol, instant release morphine, starting at a low...

Is it normal to have black and blue looking scares. I stopped get my testopel injections cause the area was hurting me all the time plus my last injection the pellets after a month starting coming out. Is any of the normal. ## Hello, Msk! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you've had. No, that's not typical. There may be some bruising and irritation upon initial insertion, but that should go away in a few days and they shouldn't be coming out. I think you may do better seeing a different doctor. The FDA lists this as being a hormonal supplement and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Just had my second testopel implant done. The first time the mino...
