I am willing to try anything that might help with the feet & leg pain, my arms & hand pain I am having. Also in my joints. Feels like my nerves, tendons, muscles, are like a rubber band, and being twisted at both ends, until so tight they could pop at any time. The pain gets so bad when I am asleep it wakes me up screaming, running, kicking, then can't find anything then to take for the pain, to relieve just enough to allow me to go back to sleep. But, it wouldn't allow me any relief enough to get back to sleep. I would like to join the Research Team, to see if Metanx will help me. ## Hello, Polly! Sorry about the pain that you're in. However, this website does not manufacture any prescription products, nor is it affiliated with any manufacturer, it is an information ...

I have been taking Losartan 50 mg for treatment of high blood pressure approx. a year and half now, works on reducing blood pressure however about 4 months ago the muscles and joints in my arms stated hurting. My doctor has run various blood test and now sending me to Orthopediac doctor, I think it is the Losartan but he ignores my opinion that it could be the problem. Has any one else had this problem. ## Hi, John! It's not a typical side effect of Losartan, but I've had some of them cause very odd side effects in me, as well, so I have to say that it's possible. When I was in the hospital once they had me on an IV of Enalapril and it made me feel as if my whole spine was being twisted in a vice, I couldn't stand it. There are many other blood pressure medications that ...

I have suffered from all over body pains in muscles & joints for over a year. They have me on a cocktail of meds, none of which seem to assist, such as Cynbalta, Lyrica etc. I have also been on Synap-Forte which seems to assist with the pain the best, but now they want to remove it from the market. I'm at my wits end as this is the only med that really helps. The others just make me feel terrible & & cough like a sick dog when I take Lyrica. The doctors have diagnosed Fibromyalgia, but it seems far more. Can you advise me as this pain is belilitating me that all I do is stay in bed all day. ## I have Fibromyalgia, and most days, it seems as thought there HAS to be something worse going on. The pain is intense, aching, stabbing one minute in my back, the next in my legs, ...

Started taking Verapamil for chronic migraines--started with low dose and gradually increased. As I increased, the joints in both elbows became so painful, hard to put on a jacket or open a jar...muscles in arms are also very sore...both arms are equally sore. I am a strong person, had no trauma to the arms, and problem only started with verapamil use. Doctor does not believe it's the medication, but pharmacy told me joint pain could be a side effect. So confused...I love verapamil as it has taken my chronic headaches/migraines away and I love it! but can't handle this joint/arm pain much longer---any input would be fantastic! ## Hello, Skunkbuns! How are you? Yes, even the U.S. FDA lists that among the possible side effects, but your doctor may not be away of it. Most doctors d...

I am a 65 year old female and started taking Forteo at age 63 due to a low bone density and family history of osteoporosis. I had very painful side effects in most of my joints and muscles. I stopped taking it after 3 months and the pain went away after several more months. Two years down the road, and not on any medications, the same pains have returned and have persisted for the last 5 months. The pain is especially bad once I lay down at night. Today I cannot lift my arm over my shoulder, my thumb is so painful I can not write a grocery list and, after hiking 5,000 foot mountains just 6 months ago, I need assistance to get in or out of bed. I have tested negative for bone cancer and Lyme disease. Rheumatoid arthritis has been ruled out but without conclusive testing. Has anyone had t...

I am 30 years old about 140 pounds. For about 6 months out of each year ( when I have an excess of seasonal cash) since I was 23 I use very heavily. I will take 2 or 3 30mg roxycodone pills every day, and drink a bottle of wine or a six pack of beer at night. As if that is not damaging enough I will use 300 bucks worth of crack a week on top of this. Typically from about February to September use almost no pills or crack, but will still have 2 or 3 drinks a night. I used to bounce back pretty quickly from my binges, but this year it seems to be taking it's toll. I have extreme pain and soreness in my joints and muscles, and am extremely lethargic. I have a pretty good diet, always getting my daily intake of fresh greens& other vegetables. I am wondering if there is any possibili...

I take 100 mg losartan a day along with 10mg amlodipine. I have really bad aches and pains in all my joints and muscles. Is losartan to blame as I did not have it before? ## It is not a statin drug, but it can cause those types of side effects in some people that take it. The NIH lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. The increased urination could also cause it, if you are becoming dehydrated. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? ## I get dizziness and almost unbearable foot pain. I had stopped taking it, for this reason, but the doctor still prescribes it. ## I used to take 100mg of Lorstan too, along with 10mg of Amlodipine with Hydrocholorthiazide 25mg. for blood pressure control (high). I noticed tha...

I had radiation and chemo for a tumour situated in the anal canal. The treatments caused chronic nerve pain in that area. My doctor prescribed Lyrica. It started with pain under my feet and my hands. Now my whole body, joints and muscles are affected. I get up in the morning and my whole body is stiff with pain. I also experience blurry vision, memory loss and cannot carry a simple conversation. I have gained 30plds. My Doctor now has diagnosed me fibromalgia and osteo arthritis due to the trauma of my cancer treatments. He continually shrugs it off that its not due to the Lyrica. I know that is what has caused all of these ailments. It has altered my whole life. I will be my own advocate from here on. Please let me know what you think! ## It is not normal for the Lyrica to cause such i...

My husband started Xarelo Dec 21. He is having a lot of hip/leg/knee pain, and we've been told the drug is breaking down the DVT clots and setting up inflammation in his body as a reaction. He is taking hydrocodone around the clock for this pain. What to do? How long will this last? Are others dealing with this? ## Hello, Jan! How is your husband doing? Yes, pain in various joints and muscles can be a side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA. He may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and easy bruising. Side effects are usually transient and improve, once someone's body gets used to a medication, but that can take 4 to 5 weeks. ## He's been on the drug since Dec. 21, so 20 days out, he's getting a little better. He just went on the one-a-day dose of...

I have had 2 strokes (2007 & 2014) & a DVT (2013). I am on Xarelto 20mg now for about 17 months. For the last several months I have been noticeably more fatigued, tired, weak... I have pain in my muscles & joints. Would these symptoms be less if I was on a lower dose of Xarelto, perhaps the 10mg? I am way healthier overall now than I was when these incidents occurred. ## Hello, Laurin! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're experiencing. Yes, those can be side effects of Xarelto, as listed by the FDA, you may also experience headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. A lower dosage may reduce them, but with your medical history, please don't change your dosage, without your doctor's approval. Is there anything else I can help with?

My mom has been on prenisone (5mg-20mg) for over five years now for the treatment of fibromyalgia. Her pain is all throughout her body and sometimes feels like she can't get out of bed do to sore muscles and joints. She is constantly bruised not knowing how she got them. In 2010, she had symptoms of a heart attack, the doctor told her to "up" her prednisone and she would be fine... Noon that day she suffered a major heart attack.
