i just went to my pain doctor for the first time under the new law, he wrote me a prescription for 2 months and said go to any pharmacy. i'm taking norco 7.5/325 took it to walgreens, and they filled the 60 day suppy with no problem. before my doctor was dispensing meds at his office. so this was the first time at a pharmacy. it went smooth but took about 30 minutes for first time red tape. ## Hello, Marc! How are you? I'm very glad that you were able to get your prescription filled without a hassle. The FDA classifies this as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything I can help with?

I have breast cancer and going through chemo, I have not tolerated it well, my chemo plan is ACT,the side effects have been horrible and I have to work, I was hospitalized for staph and a blood infection, my oncologist decided to cut my chemo dose in half to help with all these side effets. Im on the last drug which is taxoen or something like that, but I am having alot of bone pain which I cant hardly take and I have to work and my oncologist will not prescibe me any narcotics, I have heard from many people that taking clartin-D along with a pain med immensely makes the bone pain better but my dr only tells me to take the claritn D which does nothing for me. How can I get some pain meds to get me through this last stage of chemo so I can work and not want to crawl in bed and stay there...

I live in Ky and been on pain meds probably 13 yrs but recently I was gave a script for tyneol 3 by my gastric dr and he knew I had a family dr prescribing loratab 10's but I filled the script for tyneol 3 and my family dr run a kasper on me called me and told me she can no longer write me any controlled substance scripts is this true? please help I am desperate ! ## Hello, I think your best option would be to ask your doctor why she can no longer write the prescriptions you need. What she prescribes is at her own discretion and if she says that she can't write a prescription for a certain medication, then she is allowed to do so. Maybe a new law was passed in your state that won't allow her or other doctors to prescribe certain medications. In the mean time, have you ever t...

Hi, I am trying to find a pm that doesn't require injections. I've had every kind and the last 4 or 5 put me in the hospital because of heart and diabetes. Now current pm ended up with legal trouble because of her husband. Next thing I know she's saying my urine came up with methadone, which is impossible I've never ever taken it. She cut me back instead of released me. But if she really thought i was screwing up I bealive she would have released me. So before I'm left without I need a new compassionate doc in New Jersey. I am 50 with multiple issues that all cause pain. ## Methadone clinics can do wonders for you why not give that a try best of luck

Anyone wanted to get ride of thier porcocet I would be interested ## I'm sorry, but obtaining a prescription medication in this manner is considered illegal activity in the U.S., which is where we are based and the laws that we must abide by, thus we cannot allow this type of thing to take place, or be facilitated through our website. Have you tried consulting a doctor?

Is it safe to take 2 10mg hydrocodones every 3 hours? I am 24 and I am scheduled to have a total hip replacement on the 18th. For the past two days I have been taking 2 hydrocodones, 1 gabapentin, and 1 robaxin every 3-4 hours to keep my pain under control so I don't end up in the er like I did on Wednesday. So my question is, is it safe to be taking all of these every 3-4 hours? ## Hello, Kat! How are you doing? I am very sorry that you're in so much pain. If you're taking Norco/Vicodin that also has Acetaminophen in it, then it is dangerous to take that many in a 24 hour period. You can't exceed 3,000mgs of Acetaminophen per day. Taking more than that risks an overdose, which could be fatal. It is really best to not take more than prescribed. You may want to contact yo...

It is normal for your body to get used to dosage of any medication, when you have been taking it for a long time and for it not to work as well, anymore. In addition, the Acetaminophen can have a detrimental effect on the liver, so it could also be a good idea for you to be switched to some...

I'm a Parkland patient that's been diagnosed with degenerative facet arthritis. My MRI shows moderate stenosis in C3-4, 6,7. Mild disc bulge in C3-7. My PCP has scheduled an appointment with the Pain Management Dept. but the appointment isn't until September. I need some relief now. Is there anyone that will prescribe me something stronger than Tramado until I can get into the Pain Management Clinic? Please help. ## Dear Rick, Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I realize that you posted this back in May earlier this year, so I don't know if you managed to find a solution yet... However, concerning potential treatment options, unfortunately there's no way of knowing what any doctor is or isn't willing to prescribe ahead of time, since that is based on their own d...

Several years of pain meds for back and neck joint deterioration. My Dr. has told me I will soon no longer receive pain meds. Due to a Government Mandate I will go thru a 90 day period where the meds will be slowly reduced. I will be given Naltrexone to help with with withdraws. Is this true? Is our Government sticking their nose into private people's quality of life? How is it possible to assume my joint deterioration problem has gone away? It just doesn't make sense to me! . ## No, that is not actually true. The DEA has issued more strict directives that doctors must use, when prescribe controlled substances and, after that 90 day period, they must have a valid explanation for why the are prescribing such medications... unfortunately, this has caused many doctors to decide to ...

I want to know. If I take a 30 mg morphine a 7.5 oxycodone and a hydocodo/acetamin 7.5 650 mg can give me a bad reaction or would I just feel pain relief? ## You could kill yourself by doing that, I DO NOT recommend it!!!!!!! Best plan is to get on a pain management schedule with just ONE of the drugs you mentioned since if you are on the right dosage you should feel proper pain relief. Hope this helps and good luck!

My insurance company did not give me a choice recently so my dr. & I had to make different optons for my PM. I was on: Oxycotin CR 60 mg. twice a day along with ~ up to 4 percecot daily, which was: 10/325 mg. Now, I've had to change to: Taking 3 Morphine Sul ER 30 mgs. with still taking up to 4 percecot daily. How does this compare? I'm still having more pain with this newly issue. Should I be taking a stronger mg of the Morphinr Sul. I thought this was a much weaker strength than the Oxycotin cr. Can you explain this to me? Thank you in advance, Eva ## Hello, Eva! How are you? I'm so very sorry that you're in pain. Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so you'd need 90mgs of it to equal each 60mgs you were taking of the Oxycontin, which means...

Hi. I’m on seroquel, gabapentin, methylphenidate, klonopin, and lithium. I had surgery. Had filled out all the meds I take. After surgery I was on norco for 4 or 5 days. Still hurting and severely inflamed. I called the surgeons office. He gave me Tramadol 50 mg every 4 hours and ibuprofen. After about 4 days I started having tremors. Face and neck twisting stretching kind of thing. My left thigh is still numb and leg was very heavy. Also constant clearing my throat and non stop humming or singing or just making grunting noises. I called the pharmacy the next day as I was so wired and shaking I could barely stand up. Obviously they said stop immediately. I also quit the lithium. Now the shaking has gone away some But still clearing throat constantly and humming. It’s driving...

For those of us in pain we know what its like to be unmedicated. We also know what its like to run out and have withdrawl and rebound pain. Its hard to go to a new doc or the er without being looked at like a junkie! Even with documents and test results you have to fight for your meds. TIP. Research research and research some more. Let your new doc know you know what you're talking about. Know yhe terminology for thr pain you have. Be very in depth. Let them know what works for you. But beware they wont jump straight to oxy! Be willing to do a pain contract. Be willing to change your lifestyle(if just to get meds) ask tjem about referals to chiro. Therapy. Be willing to take some initiative for your condition. Someone on here stated you need to work the docs...unfortunatly you do. I...

Can this drug cause some one to bruise on any part of thier body. The patient is taking meds for pais with cancer. ## Neurontin contains the active ingredient Gabapentin, it is an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat certain types of nerve pain. It is possible that the bruising can be due to the Neurontin, but with such a medical condition, I am sure they are also on other medications/treatments, so it is very important that the patient's doctor be consulted to determine the problem. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have downloaded the DEA formal law, the Pharmacy's are all lying in Central Florida. Here is the web version. For the official version you will need download just scroll to the bottom. (deadiversion.usdoj.gov/fed_regs/rules/2014/fr0822.htm). The law doesn't even take effect until October 6. Read scroll down to Patient access. I have placed a call into Walgreens cause according to the DEA they cannot refuse you. I can't get mine there is also a way to sue the Pharmacy's with legal action. The Pharmacy's don't know how to interrupt them. I think Walgreens is just Dumping Florida patients they are rude even for sinus meds. CVS is trying this too. Denying legitimate patients really Oh Obama care is really united health group I use to work for them. Did you know tha...

Id like to hear what other people are taking for chronic, acute, progessive pain. My doc wont write for oxycontin / he writes for compounded vicodin up to and over 100mg / yes 100mg compounded locally. I would like to know if any one else is getting compounded hydrocodone ## Is Opama ER 20 mg better for chronic pain than Oxycotin? ## What is compounded vicodin? It doesn't have 100 hydro does it? Can you tell me about it? Thanks! ## I have had chronic arthritis(osteo and other)for 40 yrs.I have tried everything, the best is MSContin 30mg(morphine)2 or 3 times a day,I used to take 4,but was impacted bad.On 3 with senna S(light laxative)I use a hot water enema to avoid straining! No alcohal or street drugs, smoking and I go to church every sunday(christian) You will always have pain, but i...

I am 69 years old; a double amputee (BK) I was born with CMT and have had heart-related surgery seven times. I am in chronic pain and live 42 miles from my doctor. I am suppose to be "shelter in place" as I am a high risk patient. Yet, I must drive to the doctor's office every time I need to fill my prescription because a "hard copy" is required by my pharmacy. Are there any other options. ## Those who need to shelter in place are still allowed to leave the house to go to their doctor's appointments, if needed, as well as their pharmacy, grocery store, and etc. You just need to be extra careful about keeping your distance from other people, wash your hands regularly, and avoid touching your face. However, you should consult your doctor, as they may have a plan in...

I moved to west central Georgia from Hawaii. I have been successfully treated with pain meds for 10 years. After moving here I have had my prescriptions written by my medicaid pc up until more than a month ago. I have tried a pain clinic but found out quick that some of them or against opiods and many are so expensive and want to give injections which don't work for me.I have chrnic pain issues backed uo with medical documentation. I really need help.Would be willing to travel to Atlanta.Anyone know anywhere I can go? Desperate, my quality of life is going to hell.

I have been taking Oxycodin and Kadian for two years. Your opinion on how well the work together, and is it likely I may become addicted. How long can one take these for chronic pain and feel safe about it? ## I can speak from experence only from the point of oxycodone, check you'r family backgroung for alcholism or drug addiction and your self for an addictive personality, I warn you of the caution, but if you are truely in pain take it only AS PERSHRIBED DEXTOX IS HELL!! you will be O.K. if you do not abuse it. GOOD LUCK!!! ## if there is any way possible, i would try something other that oxycodone or oxycontin for pain. they are both so addictive!! i know. i had a terrible time coming off it. ## Its true very very additcive so good but ohh so bad ## I was hurt in 96. Can I get a prescription for norco 7.5 for a surgery I just had a day before I get my usual prescription of hydrocodone 10mg from my pm dr., and not get in trouble? ## Hello frank. I am in GA and I go to pain management for a severe back problem. I signed a narcotic agreement that states I cannot get a pain med prescription from another dr and fill out, without getting permission from the pain dr first. Hope this helps. ## Momof3 is correct, it depends on your doctor's policies and what you agreed to, when you started seeing them. Additionally, since this is a lower dosage than the one you usually take, it isn't likely to help much. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mout...
