I went to the VA hospital on Jefferson in Jacksonville, FL and they said they dont have soma or oxy for me something I have been taken for 15 years in VA California! The just say "no it is not in our formulary" so I ask if they would script it out to CVS that does have it and they say they cant do that either! So I a without a job or resorces because i need the soma to work everyday and oxy only maybe once a week or two. I only take 2 somas a day...and then nothing else! Please tell me who to contact in the military that may make a difference in my life so i dont have to go on disability. ## Disability in Florida will most likely not be able to accommodate you either with the Soma/Oxy combo? ## @Kathy, Sorry to hear about your situation. As a vet, you'd think they'd be m...

I've been on oxycontin 80s for yrs. A new pain mgmt doctor says I'm taking too much and has also refused to prescribe ativan 1mg 2 per day. I have been on a rollercoaster ride with meds being changed. I was given Zanaflex and Topamaze. Will these meds help me? Oxycontin dropped from 160mg 2xday, to 1 tab 3xday, no anxiety meds. Also changed Soma to Zanaflex. I didn't sleep much before this change, now not more than 2hrs a day. HELP!! A lot of yrs. of pain. I can't work anymore. I've raised a family, been a wife, raised Foster Children (My Children too). I love them all. I'm now a GrandMother that hasn't been there for her Grandbabies. I realize that I am new to this site so please understand that I don't usually complain about what I face in life. But her...

I bought a pain-o-soma- from India does it have any norco pain meds in it? ## From India anything goes, it can have poison for all you know. The only prescription with Soma and a pain killer you will find from a legit source is Soma compound which has codeine in it ## Hello, Mark! How are you? The FDA lists it as containing Carisoprodol, which is a muscle relaxant. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. However, what Eddy said stands, there's no way to be sure what you've actually received. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Get tapendol instead. ## What a terrible thing to tell fellow members? ------------------------------------------------ Tapentadol is an opioid medication used to treat moderate to severe pain. The ex...

I have lower back pain deg fiscs none of the surgeons recommend this surgery however none will prescribe pain meds anyone in springfield massachusetts ## Hi Jessi, Surgery is the last option, if you only have pain in your lower back, surgery will not help. Have you and your doctor talked about muscle relaxers, like Soma or Flexeril? There are many non surgical that can help a lot. Seeing an OT doctor works wonders, using a TENS unit, steroids by mouth. (I've had 7 back surgeries ) Good Luck!

I have been taken off soma by my pain doc in Sarasota. Does anyone know a pain doc in Sarasota, Bradenton, St Petersburg or Tampa Florida who still writes them? Skelaxin makes me have nausea & vomiting, on flexeril I fell asleep driving and nearly crashed, baclofen did the same with sleepiness. Please help, I'm so uncomfortable. I was on soma for 17 years. My primary will write them, but won't write my pain meds so I'm stuck. ## Have you asked your primary care doctor about still prescribing them for you, while you receive pain medications elsewhere? Unless you have a pain management contract that forbids it, or are trying to double up on controlled substances, you can receive medications from more than one doctor, at a time. The FDA warns that Soma is commonly abused, a...

I am moving back to Las Vegas from Utah (where they have about stripped me of all my meds) and I really need a doctor who will prescribe my meds. I am currently on Percocet 15, Morphine 45, and Soma. My amounts have been cut in half and I used to get morphine 60mg. My next visit they are cutting me off the soma. That is the only muscle relaxer that has ever worked for me. I was hurt when a ride malfunctioned at Disneyland (screwed by lawyer), which resulted in neck and back surgery and I also have Lupus and Crest Syndrome. I do not go an hour without being in pain. I am really having a hard time since they have cut me down so far so fast and I really need a doctor soon. I need one within the next couple weeks. Can anyone please help me find a doctor? I feel like I am going insane and al...

Hi, it is so sad to see so many of us suffering needlessly due to ignorance! PLEASE HELP, ANYONE WHO KNOWS OF A PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR IN SHREVEPORT/BOSSIER CITY AREA (or within a couple of hours) who will help as I have moved here from California and desperate to find a caring pain doctor! It took SIXTEEN doctors and about 8 years of HELL to finally find a medication regime that helps my extreme chronic pain from two serious car accidents and several bad slip and falls. Quick list: Extreme FMS, herniated disks, spinal cysts, stenosis, spondylosis, arthritis, osteoporosis, nerve impingement, neuritis/neuropathy, massive inflammation throughout, for about 12 years have been taking methadone 10 mg, norco for breakthrough, soma for muscle spasm, neurontin for nerve pain. Have not increased...

Hi. I'm looking for a pain management doctor in New Orleans/Westbank/etc area. I'm 27 and some places I called only accepts 35+. My Doc of 6yrs has cancer, so he transferred his patients. I recently found a Doc, but he doesn't prescribe soma, and reduced my pain meds. I rather just find a Doc in my area, than drive to BR each month for less meds. Thanks. ## Many Doctors do not like to prescribe Soma. You are also taking Pain Meds too? As you know pain medicine and Soma go together. Doctors know this too. Now that Soma a Schedule IV medication, you will find it harder to obtain. Still possible. ## Hi, Honey! I'm very sorry about the problems you're having. Unfortunately, even if I researched doctors for you in that area, I have no way of knowing what age or type of pa...

I'm moving to Tulsa, OK and need to find a pain management doc that will not do injections, but does give meds. I have been told not to have them done by my anesthesiologist and pain management doc due to where my problem is, past surgeries..neck.. I've been on hydrocodone 4 x day, soma 4 x day, klonopin 3 x day, and lidoderm patches since 1999. Where is the list of Pain Management Clinics for OK that the state i live in now has??? Or does anyone know of pain clinics in Tulsa/Broken Arrow/Claremore/Muskogee area? ## My husband goes to Dr. Morris, I believe his practice is called Premier Pain Management. He prescribes pretty liberally. My hubby takes oxycontin and roxicodone, as well as other non opiate drugs. He has been a god send for my man! ## Is doctor Morris In tulsa Oklaho...

I was recently switched from soma to baclofen. The Baclofen makes me feel very strange and I cannot function as well on it as I can with Soma. It makes me sleepy, and frankly just makes me feel like crap. The Soma works better for me as far as muscle spasms. The Baclofen does help spinal pain but does not work as quickly as Soma on spasms. My doctors in Alabama refuse to prescribe me Soma even though I have been put on different muscke rekaxers, Soma works best with my body. Why will doctors nor prescribe what works best for the individual. Every thing works different on different people. I want to be able to function and not be a zombie. What should I do. My pain clinic doctor only wants to get meds from him, but if he wont prescribe what works, I will get my pain meds from him and som...

I am on 2 different meds (soma and Percocet) plus Xanax for extreme panic attacks. The soma is because I have at least two disintegrating discs and bad arthritis in my lower back. the Percocet (which I never even asked for, they just gave it to me) because I have bad arthritis in my knees, my hips my hands and my neck. I asked if there were any over the counter meds to help but because my kidneys are in bad shape I couldn't take anything like advil, ibuprofen or steroids. Also my nephrologisy has said that I need to keep my blood pressure down and when i'm in pain or having a panic attack (which happens several times a day) my BP goes up. now I have to practically beg for these meds and am treated like a drug addict UA's and all which is a pain because my husband has to take...

My problem is much like so many others on here. After being treated with meds for 12 years (120 Soma per month as well as 180 Norco 10 and 120 Valium 10) my wife which is on full disability was also treated by the same doc for 9 years. The doctor was raided by local police and DEA but was never charged with anything unfortunately the local press basically tried and convicted him in 1 week smear campain. As a result he never returned.to his.practice and allowed his medical license to expire. It's now been 22 months and the DEA still has my medical file as well as 15 other patients. It has been the closest thing to hell as I have every known. I can't even get a doctor to write a prescription for my gout medication. I now realized the amount of drugs I was receiving was excessive I...

Are pro soma Any good and are they better than pain o soma ? I've taken dans, v's, etc. ## In my findings, both "pro-soma" and "pain-o-soma" contain the same active ingredient (Carisoprodol) in 350mg to 500mg dosage strengths. Other dosages may be available as well but those are the two options I'm presently aware of for these specific brand names. That said, I don't see why one would work any better or worse than the other unless certain inactive ingredients affected their bioavailability. Nevertheless, because we all react/respond differently to the same meds, trial and error may be only way to find out for certain which one works best for you. I would encourage you to ask your doctor about taking some time to try out each one so you can really see for ...

Needing a dependable faster easier way to get my methadone and soma prescribed. Any helpful ideas welcomed ## Good luck with that one. I can't get a Tylenol never mind anything that might work. I have no choice but to suffer. That sucks when there is something that's will help but can't get a Dr to help. They always look at me like I want a million bucks. I just want relief. I don't care what it is. Sad, that's why they make pain meds. People that need them for pain can't get them but the Dr.s will give them to young adults with no prob. I have multiple back shoulders and leg issues and I get Motrin. What a joke. I cry in pain every day. I'm in RI and every Dr sucks here! ## Well if there is anyone out there that has a way to get soma and methadone and xanax ...

I have been with Dr galang for 5 yrs now n where I get my meds they got a new pharmacist n she is giving me probs on filling all of them. I take norco 10/325, Fentanyl 75 mcg x 15, soma 350 120 a month and temazepam 30mg x 30 a month. I also get klonapin 1 mg 2x daily. N sequel from my psychiatrist. Would you have a prob filling these? I've been on theses meds plus epidural every 6 months. As I said for the last 5 yrs I've been at the same pharmacy n never had a prob. And this one thinks she's God. My Dr is very upset. I'm taking Norco 10/325 & soma 350mg twice a day. They no longer work. I have cronic lymes disease 5 year's now. Pain & fatigue migraines & a whole bunch of symptoms. I need something stronger. I'm exhausted &can't work after 30 years in banking, I'm can't work anymore. What do you recommend for pain medication. I've done every thing thèy gave me to cure lymes nothing worked. I'm done. Just treat the pain. Help me! ## Percocet is slightly stronger. Fentanyl is a long term pain med without the highs and lows experienced with breakthrough drugs like Norco. Migraine meds, non narcotiv nerve meds like gabepentin, muscle relaxers like Valium, lots of choices! ## What M3sue has posted is correct, there are plenty of other options available....

Doctors will not write RX for this anymore. I am allergic to Vicodin, Codeine all sorts of pain meds. Soma always worked for me. I sit with extreme pain; nothing works all = depression; never had depression till whole body turned into pain. Real, overwhelming pain; can't sleep; cannot eat; nausea from pain. ## There are better muscle relaxers than Soma on the market. Many Doctors don't like prescribing Soma as they have had personal experience with this worthless medication. With that said I am lucky my doctor will prescribe it, he is a great man! ## There's too many interactions between Soma opiate drugs and benzodiazepines for doctors to prescribe them as they once were ## I have the exact problem if they won't prescribe soma than the key should have something that wor...

My doctor has told me that that soma is a narcotic and she does not want to prescribe it to me any more. I suffer from chronic back pain as well as muscle spasms. I have tried other muscle relaxers as well as anti inflamatories and none of then do not work. Soma is the only one I have found to work for me without making me sleepy. Any information you can give me i would really appreciate. Thank you, Dana ## No, it is not a narcotic, nor is it related to opioid pain relievers. Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol. It has, however, been known to be habit forming and to be abused, by some people. ## Soma - Do they come up on a U/A?
