I have downloaded the DEA formal law, the Pharmacy's are all lying in Central Florida. Here is the web version. For the official version you will need download just scroll to the bottom. (deadiversion.usdoj.gov/fed_regs/rules/2014/fr0822.htm). The law doesn't even take effect until October 6. Read scroll down to Patient access. I have placed a call into Walgreens cause according to the DEA they cannot refuse you. I can't get mine there is also a way to sue the Pharmacy's with legal action. The Pharmacy's don't know how to interrupt them. I think Walgreens is just Dumping Florida patients they are rude even for sinus meds. CVS is trying this too. Denying legitimate patients really Oh Obama care is really united health group I use to work for them. Did you know tha...

Hello I have learned that any pharmacy can lie and say that they're out of certain pain meds which is trifling because u then have to ride around town.... ## They all lie, it's common practice. They fill for who they want to. It's hard, but if and when you get them filled, try to stick with the same pharmacy and get established. Then it will be a lot easier. Keep pharmacy records...

I take percocet 10 / 325.I suffer from lumbar stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and neuropathy and the beginning stages of multiple sclerosis.does anyone know a doctor that is willing to prescribe pain meds for me? I was diagnosed in 2004 and have been on pain meds ever since.my prescription is to take up to four pills per day. I take anywhere from 2 to 6 pills per day depending upon the pain level that I am in. please help if anyone knows of a doctor in the area of Daytona Beach to Orlando. Thank you so much! ## Some pain management clinics prescribe meds along with other methods of pain managment. You wil...

So I recently moved here to South Florida (Cutler Bay to be exact) from Nevada and I have been taking 60 10 mg Vicodin a month for 7 years with no need for increase for pain from endometriosis. I brought my records and prescription bottles with me when I moved thinking I would have no problems transferring to a new long term Dr. who could fill my scripts. NO SUCH LUCK. Every Dr. I have gone to tries to fill me bogus Tramadol and tells me that there is no reason I should be taking Vicodin. They are making me feel like a drug seeker and absolutely refuse to give me my script. Does anyone know of a primary care or gynecologist South of Miami that is comfortable giving a legitimate pain prescription to someone in legitimate pain?! I'm beyond frustrated. It took me a long time to find th...

I just moved from NYC to the Florida panhandled. I am having a difficult time finding a pain management doctor who will continue the meds I have been on for a broken back, failed spinal fusion. I take oxycondone and soma. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My other choice is to fly back to NY. Many thanks ## You will probably need to fly back to New York for now. However after a reasonable amount of time your out of state providers might cut you off and tell you to find a Doctor in your area ## I know this is older but just in case you're still looking...Dr. David Norfleet in crestview. They take insurance. He has no bedside manner and honestly I don't like him BUT after the first visit you see the NP and she is WONDERFUL! Very caring! The office staff is beyond rude....

Hello, yes I've had problems filling just like everyone else. Then I found a WALGREENS that treated me AWESOME for 3yrs then my pain doc closed then reopened 3 months later I went back with my script and they would not fill. In those 3 months I took subutex from a doctor and filled at a PUBLIX so everything was all legit. Then I heard from a friend that he was mailing them 1,000 miles away to a mail order pharmacy and having great results. So I tried and for the past 4 months no problems I'm so grateful and lucky that all has worked out. And to answer your question there is no law that says you cant do this. I also live in South Florida ## Hello Rawdog, I'm glad that everything is working out for you. In case you aren't aware the laws for having your prescription filled ...

I also found out I now have Fibromyalgia 16 of the 18 trigger point areas?? and am finally ( thank you God) in remission from 7 years of treatment for Leukemia .... I have 2 broken ribs from tripping n falling at home and a rotater cuff injury ( still don't know how got that one)! and lastly Dr said I have bursitis in my left hip! I do NOT abuse any drugs whatsoever and am currently on drug for my arthritis called Nabumetone for inflammation and up to 8 Motrin per day for pain as well as and Celebrex! They are all killing my stomach and cause me such pain! I am so begging for any Doctor in Florida where I now have retired to see me and prescribe me AN...

Pain management Drs in Florida are more concerned about how much THC you have in your body, rather than trying to fix the problem or give you pain meds. I'm on 10mg Roxicodone 4x a day. The dr I have right now is the second one I'm going to lose this year. They don't understand! If he would give me back my soma rx I wouldn't need that. I have found CBD oil now that helps for the reason I used cannabis. I can't take nsaid's for inflammation so I used cannabis to help with that. I'm supposed to go without pain meds so they can act like gods. Will amendment 2 really help people like me? I can tell you this. When I have my cannabis I make candy with it. I don't take as many pain, muscle or nerve pills. I just don't know what to do! ## I need a doctor to p...

I was in a severe car accident and suffered t7t8t9 fractures and already had a previous back injury. I'm in pain 24x7 and now my doctor of 10 years wants me to find a pain management doctor here in tallahasse, fl. due to rick scott drugs and pill mills frantic all the doctors and pharmacist are affraid of losing thier license. he has caused people with real pain to suffer. ## This has caused more drugs on the street.I have a disabling back injury from a car accident and last 10 yrs. has been on methadone now my doc wants me to go to a pain management clinic.I haven't been able to find a md. that will continue my meds.I'm in severe pain 24x7 and just can't live with this pain anymore. ## I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links...

I agree with the person who stated that those who abuse pain meds, especially when you are not prescribed them - make it hard for those of us with true chronic pain. I reside in Florida and it's an Act of Congress in this state to find pain mgmt that truly believes in you. Of course MRI's, X-Rays, that helps also. But it frustrates me to no end everyone that's so paranoid about being tested because they shouldn't be taking it in the first place. I won't go through my medical issues except suffice to say one of the things I'm trying to avoid is a spinal fusion. I'm terrified because no one could help take care of me or my dogs....at all. True chronic pain will begin to mess with your depression, and I already have Major Depressive Disorder. This pain has robbe...

I've been trying to find out if it is still hard to get pain meds filled in fort Myers FL. My husband and I are going to be retiring there this year and I've been on oxycotin and oxycodone for 15 years so this concerns me greatly. Could someone please tell me if this is true and is it also hard to find a doctor to take over my meds ## Hello, Elizabeth! How are you? That answer to both of your questions is yes. There have been many posts about people in Florida having problems getting such medications. Even if they have a doctor that prescribes them, getting them filled can also be very difficult. The FDA classifies Oxycodone as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and consti...

I am in the process of looking for a New pain management Dr in the Gainesville, FL area that takes Avmed insurance and one that takes Prestige medicaid for my Mom. We had both been seeing same Dr for past 2 yrs and although I didn't like his obnoxious know it all attitude when you came prepared by doing your own research on your medical issues or new medication and in my case anything to help for my myofascial pain, he cuts everything down. But most recently he retaliated against my elderly Mom after we had all 3 decided on a plan of care. Then after a disagreement on a paper I brought in that would not harm my body if it failed or worked (all natural approach) he pulled two of my mom's meds and changed one. Wasn't even man enough to bring the scripts to her and tell her. Unles

As most of you here, I've been taking MS Contin 60 mg and Oxycodone IR for break through among other meds of course. I have had RSD/CRPS for 26 years and Lupus for about 5 years. I live in PA now and never really considered the ramifications of moving to a state with such pain med issues. Due to job loss I've had to reschedule my meds taking fewer of them and being in worse pain. I don't want to find just a prescribing doctor. I want to continue my treatment. Any advice? ## I moved back to Panama City Beach, FL, in 2012 after moving away in 2003. In TN, where we moved from, I was on Hydrocodone 10/325 and Opana, so 2 opiates. When I moved here, the first neurologist I saw told me that she didn't like to give 2 opiates at the same time. So, I suffered through the pain for...

I moved from the cold of Minnesota to Florida far from all the people I love my friends and family and even left behind my home and really good job. I did this to try to help myself get relief from the chronic severe pain I live in. I have already cut my pain medication in half and have been trying to find a Dr that will prescribe my medication that I have been taking for the last 7 years and I can't find any pain clinic to prescribe my meds. I don't know what to do..... I feel hopeless and like there isn't anyone out there that will help me. I have never abused my medication I do not drink alcohal or take any illigal drugs I am hard working and all I want is my life back. I am 33 years old and I feel like pain has highjacked my life. I just want to be able to live instead o...

I hurt my back while on vacation and a doctor said he could not prescribe hydrocodone, which is what my normal doctor gives me, because I am not a Florida resident. Is this true everywhere or just with this doctor? ## It is up to each individual dr in every state to decide if he wants to prescribe pain meds. There are no laws that say you must be a resident of a state before a dr can prescribe you pain meds or any other medication. The dr lied.

Like everyone else I am having a hard time finding a pharmacy that will fill my pain medication, I live in Brandon near Tampa Fla. My Dr. will only give me certain meds because he is aware of the problems getting some meds filled. When I went to the pharmacy I asked him and he said the same thing, I then said I guess I could do a mail order for the meds the pharmacy won't fill and the pharmacist told me that it is illegal to get narcotic pain meds mailed in Florida. I just had a script filled by mail in March, does anyone know if they changed that law? I know a lot of new regulations went into effect April 1st. Like Dr. cannot up your dose or quanity of certain meds after 4/1, many other state and federal changed too that don't apply to pain meds but I am just concerned about ha...

OptumRX, mail-order pharmacy, is the only answer so far, BUT it would be REALLY nice if I could find a local pharmacy to fill Rx and not have to wait a week to get my pain meds. I too went to a local CVS for ten years and got my Rx filled immediately or had to wait one or two days MAX. Now it's just absurd!!! Also,I saw a group of pain docs and had to change. I was seen, over the course of the year by, at least six docs in that SAME group. When I went to another office they ran an "Eforce" report and said I was "doctor shopping!!!" HOLY S___!!!! I said that ALL docs were part of the same group, and if he'd call, that would be verified! BUT NO... So now, I'm looking for a doc AND a pharmacy... Help me!! ## Hello, Loren! How are you? In Florida an epidemic of overdose, overprescribing, drug rings coming from other states, Florida needed some regulation. Now Dr.s are scared to prescribe opiate pain meds to those who have debilitating conditions. Then you actually find a Dr to prescribe then you have pharmacy filling issues. Please anyone share info with me and others and Dr. S or PM CLINICS anywhere in Fl..thanking you in advance

I have "Idiopathic Small Fiber Peripheral Neuropathy" and have been fighting this HORRIFFIC PAIN since Jan 24,2012 and it took till April meeting with my Neurologist (I lived in Atlanta) to have an EMG and then a Biopsy to verify my illness. Then they ran it felt like a million test over and over and I passed all so they could not find the underlying cause so it's spreading quick and PAIN is HARSH! My Ga Family Practice WROTE ALL MY PAIN MEDS! I needed to leave Atlanta due to the weather and I chose Ormond Beach next to Daytona BUT AS I TRY TO FIND DRS. DOWN HERE IT IS A NIGHTMARE!! Family Practice DO NOT WRITE SCRIPTS AND IT TAKES A WHILE TO GET IN WITH A 'Pain Mgmt' Dr. Who prob WONT WRITE YOUR SCRIPTS?? I worked up to these for two years and THERE IS NO CURE FOR M...
