Back in the hospital and the doctors are having a hard time finding an IV medication that will help lessen the chest pain from my pneumonia. I wear Fentanyl 75 mcg (changed every 72 hrs). Health issues; crps/rsd, ankylosing spondylitis, Arnold Chiari Malformation, Pudenal Neuralgia, are just the top my health issues. ## Hi Loveday, I don't know how much help this will be, but I was able to find a pretty extensive list of medications starting with "P". Perhaps one of the names on there might ring a bell?: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/drug_Pa.html If anyone else can post back with more information on other possibilities that would be great!

I am going through therapy for my back and need spine surgery. I have been taking percocet for the past year now and my Dr wants to change my medication. He suggested something that starts with the letter N but didnt spell it right for me. Does anyone know of pain medication that starts with that letter. Not Naproxen, it's not an anti inflammitory ## It's supposed to be for nerves. ## Probaly Neurontin which is used to ease nerve pain. ## Or maybe Norco ## Those would be my best guesses, as well, since they are both used to treat pain, just in different ways. Neurontin is an anticonvulsant that's also been shown to help with nerve pain, it contains the active ingredient Gabapentin. And Norco contains the active ingredients Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, so it's a narcoti...

Dilu or something. It leaves the person hallucinating. The person is on Diaylasis ## Are you referring to Dilaudid? It is a narcotic analgesic that contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone. In the 70s there was an OTC analgesic you could buy for pain. It was not Aspirin or Tylenol. It began with the letter "E". (It wa not a compound; Excedrin.). I have been wracking my brains to no avail. Thanks in advance. ## Somebody saw this question on our Facebook page and is suggesting: "Empirin # 4". Does that ring a bell? ## Yes it does, and was my first thought. I guess I thought the medication was an aspirin alternative, so when I looked up Emperin and saw that It IS asprin I wondered if there was another answer. Thanks for the reply! ## Empirin ## There's a narcotic beginning with an E called Endocet (Percocet) for pain.

it's blue, has the code l910 ## I can't find a listing for this marking, but most tablets that have an L followed by additional numbers are over the counter items. That said, it may be Naproxen, a generic for Aleve, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Does this sound correct?

Used it when I had my total knee. Two syllables, I think. Can't take most pain meds, so need to find out. ## Do you remember the pharmacy that filled it for you? They would still have the records in their computer and should be able to look back and provide you with the information. Off the top of my head, the only pain reliever I can think of that starts with a T that is commonly used is Tramadol, it's a centrally acting analgesic, though it is related to opiates and causes similar side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. Learn more: Does that sound familiar? ## I thought it had two syllables. Don't recall what pharmacy I used then. Guess the orthopedist's record would have it. ## Talwin? V mark on the pill. Color white. Very bitter ## A V on the pill doesn't necessarily signify what it contains. The V is commonly used by the pharmaceutical company Vintage/Qualitest as their logo and they make many different products, only a few of which are analgesics. Are there any other numbers or markings on the tablet? That is what would help us identify it.

Until recently my family doctor was treating me but due to the current changes in Texas. He will no longer write my prescriptions. I have been taking hydrocodone 10/325 and alprazolam for apps. 10 years. Need help with obtaining online. Would appreciate any help. ## cowboy fan where in texas are you and whats your diagnosis ? most pain docs wont write for the Xanax, see if your current doc can refer or recommend someone in your area. that would be the easiest. if not, its a search, you cant just call them up and say do you prescribe drugs? sets off big red flags that say drug seeker. have all your records ready. start on the web and just do some research. look under pain management, its a start. hope this helps. ## Eustace. I am 58 yrs old. I am in the final stage of Lumbar Spinal Stenosis. With this disorder I also have killer nerve pain, and numbness. In the past I have been on all of the oxy drugs. Took Methdone 40 4x a day for about 4 yrs. worked at first, but then declined. Next I was put on Opana 40mg. Twice a day. Did great on that until they changed the makeup of it, and it started to cause vomiting. I told my Dr. about it so he changed my meds to Morphine Sulfate 60mg twice a day. I started to take it, and 6 hours after I took it, it made me vomit horribly for 3 hours. This went on for 4 days. I called my Dr. and now he wants me to find another pain clinic Dr. He pretty much was my last option, for my area, and he is close to 2 hours away. Does this drug continue to cause this reaction, or if take...

I was in the hospital and they gave me an injection for pain. It started with the letter g. Any ideas? ## Could it be gabapentin? Gabapentin is frequently prescribed for nerve pain, although I'm not exactly certain whether it's currently available in an intravenous dosage form. I did happen to find a clinical study on FDA.gov discussing gabapentin being taken via IV administration at the bottom of page 2 in the following link: accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2009/020235s041.pdf Hopefully this will at least help narrow potential suspects as to what medication you're searching for. I'll be sure to post back if I can think of any other prospects that start with a 'g'. Gabapentin just happens to be one of the more common brand names on the market. ## Thanks,...

Hello I'm trying to find out the new pain medicine that kids are taking today that replaces the pain pill oxycontin. I saw a show on TV about this but I can't remember what It's called? I think it starts with the letterA? It's the new drug craze today. ## The only one I can think of offhand that starts with an A would be Actiq, it contains the narcotic Fentanyl, which is over 80 times stronger than Morphine and is available as a lollipop, it's a formulation used for slow release of the medication. Does this sound familiar?

Used it when I had my total knee. Two syllables, I think. Can't take most pain meds, so need to find out. ## I did see your other post and I've done more searching, but I am not finding anything that starts with a T and just has 2 syllables. I know I mentioned Tramadol before, so perhaps you had it prescribed under the brand name, which is Ultram? It's also available with Acetaminophen as Ultracet. Otherwise, some other 2 syllable choices are: Lodine, Mobic, Lorcet, Lortab, Norco and Motrin. Have you talked to your doctor, yet? I'm sure they'd have record of what they prescribed.

for multiple sclerosis ## I am not sure if the medication I have in mind is specifically for MS related pain, but from what I understand it is mostly for relapsing-remitting MS and secondary progressive MS with relapses.
