Val-Torb was given to my mini doxie for a chronic condition. He weighs 16 lbs and the dosage was 1.5mls 3 times a day but it made him horribly sick and shaky. As soon as I took him off he was OK. Has anyone out there had a problem with this medication? ## What this stands for is Valium, which is a Benzodiazepine that's used for its calming effect and Torbutrol (Butorphanol), which is used to relieve pain. I don't know what the dosage should be for canines, because veterinary medications are not my speciality, but it sounds like it may have been too much of the Torbutrol for him. My dog can not go to vet for approx 24hrs he can not walk seen this could be for different reasons all i have at the moment is a mylan 143 and i believe it is an indomethacin and can be dangerous but could i just break the capsule and add a little bit on something for him to eat to help him out till i get to the vet ## @from ohio, Even though indomethacin is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, I don't think it would be wise to give any amount of it to your dog without first consulting with a veterinarian. It sounds like you have an appointment already made, but maybe if you just called asking for some quick advice, they'd probably be able to offer you their professional opinion on it's overall safety for dogs and protocols relating to proper dosing/administration.
