Pain Med Starting With

Hello I'm trying to find out the new pain medicine that kids are taking today that replaces the pain pill oxycontin. I saw a show on TV about this but I can't remember what It's called? I think it starts with the letterA? It's the new drug craze today. ## The only one I can think of offhand that starts with an A would be Actiq, it contains the narcotic Fentanyl, which is over 80 times stronger than Morphine and is available as a lollipop, it's a formulation used for slow release of the medication. Does this sound familiar?

My mom is experiencing severe knee pain since taking Eliquis. She and doctor have taken her off the medication. How long will it take before she begins to feel relief since discontinuing the drug? ## Hello, Kath1234! How is your mom feeling? How long was she taking it? Depending on the length of time and dosage, it may take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks, before it eases off and she starts to feel better. The FDA lists the other typical side effects of Xarelto as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. ## Thank you for the information! She is still hurting. I will let her know about how long it can take. It is scary for her. A chance of a Blood Clot or not being able to walk. ## My mom is doing 100% better since going off Eliquis. It obv...

I have a Medtronics IT opioid pain pump They are filling my pump with Dilaudid My current dosage is 0.5547 mg/day April 2017 will be a yr. since my pump was implanted. I've been taken off my oral Morphine so I can be able to to feel if the pump is working. My pain level stays at a 7 or above. I have multiple spine issues different levels mainly lower. The reason I ask this question is because I need to know if I need to look for another Dr. or continue with this one for a little longer. I'm so tired of being in pain. Thanks for your assistance.

I WAS PRESCRIBED SAVELLA FOR NEUROPATHY. I'M NOW ON THE HIGHER DOSE WITH LOTS OF HOT FLASHES. PRETTY FOGGY WITH IT ALSO. AS FAR AS THE PAIN, IT SEEMS TO BE HELPING. I'M HOPING THESE HOT FLASHES SUBSIDE AS TIME GOES BY. ## Both of the symptoms you stated can be normal side effects of this medication. How long have you been taking it, now? It may take about 2 weeks, or so, but the side effects should start to taper off as your body adjusts to the medication, but can expect to experience them, again, anytime you are given a higher dosage. Back in the hospital and the doctors are having a hard time finding an IV medication that will help lessen the chest pain from my pneumonia. I wear Fentanyl 75 mcg (changed every 72 hrs). Health issues; crps/rsd, ankylosing spondylitis, Arnold Chiari Malformation, Pudenal Neuralgia, are just the top my health issues. ## Hi Loveday, I don't know how much help this will be, but I was able to find a pretty extensive list of medications starting with "P". Perhaps one of the names on there might ring a bell?: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/drug_Pa.html If anyone else can post back with more information on other possibilities that would be great!

My wife is on tasigna for over a year now and has gad some moderate heart problems first a slim heart rate 50bpm then latter up to 170bpm. Not on the same day. But also a lot of unexplained pains. Dr says it's not tasigna but only started happening once started on them ## According to the U.S. FDA it can cause those types of symptoms as side effects. She may also experience nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, difficulty moving and loss of voice. How long will she be taking it? Does she take any other medications? ## I would check out all the lawsuits lately, it’s insane the conditions tasigna can cause! I reached out because of my own terrible side effects.

My pain doctor tolded me about it today, I forgot how to spell it and I have been online for an hour trying to find some info on it and so far no luck, can someone help. ## The only medication that I can think of that's close to that would be Lunesta, but it isn't a pain medication, it contains the active ingredient Eszopiclone and it used to treat insomnia. Is there a certain mg that one should be taking when starting on Belbuca? ## Ideally, your doctor should determine the dose based on your pain levels, as well as your response to similar medications. The manufacturer, and FDA recommend starting with the lowest possible effective dosage, for the shortest possible treatment duration. The FDA also warns that Belbuca carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth, and headache. Injured under workers comp in Tallahassee Florida I was taking percocet and now my adjustor stopped me from seeing the doctor who was writing my pain meds does anyone know how I can get my medication and who can you report this adjustor to ## Workers comp can be quite the hassle, as I've seen from personal experience. My mom was actually going through a similar situation with her adjuster and eventually had to get an attorney to work with her on the legality of situations like this. Although I'm not completely familiar with the process involved in that, it's probably where'd I'd recommend starting if you're intent is to take action against your adjuster - in hopes of finding a new one. In the meantime, it sounds like you may also have to be open to trying other f...

In pain. used op80s twice daily for pain mgmt. Noticed tolerance level went from 20 mgs and up...very fast. realizing my body became dependent in just four months....I quit cold turkey. On day 7 now with just the runs. First time on these so I guess I don't really know what was to be expected. Anyway, I'm in pain but scared to take my meds again at a lower dosage. If I took a 30 mg now, will I have to go thru withdraws all over again? ## No insurance, saved n spent just to go to a pain dr to get on these damn evil pills. So if u say just go to a dr to get new meds..id love to but with no money or insurance its hard getting help you actually need. Not knockon anyone for using as they wish. Tuesday I have an appointment scheduled with a suboxone doctor. I have became addicted to opiates in 2005 after I had surgery. I was able to sober up on my own for around a year in 2008 but I relapsed and in the past 2 years I dont think I've had even one sober day. I work, run my household, take care of my children but I just can't seem to function without something in my system. I am ready to be the person I was before I started abusing pain meds (and anything else I couls get my hands on). Im going to 3 meetings a week and a therapist to help me along the way.. but i just need someone to answer me honestly, do these really work? I don't know if I can handle living this way much longer so I really hope its "yes" ## Hi, Yes they work BUT unless you have a real bad h...

I take 160 mg of Oxycodone a day. It does not help my pain it only makes me not care about my pain. I still take this but 2 months ago I happened onto a life saving med....Mucinex 600 mg extended release. This medicine has changed my pain level dramatically. I know they dont understand why in the studies but it is helping people to live more pain controlled. If you also take this please reply to this. I want to see if other people know about this wonderful med that doesnt give you side affects. If you havent tried it I beg you to do so it could mean decreased pain and you can buy it at about any grocery or drug store without a script. Before starting this med, even with the high amounts of pain killer I could hardly get out of bed or walk ...now I am living again!! Yes, I still take my p...

My pain Dr. by my suggestion wrote me a prescription for Suboxene but without instructions how to take. Do I have to stop the opiod pain meds a certain amt of hrs prior to taking my first Suboxene? Ive been told no can stop the night before and take Sub next AM....also read need to stop opiods 48-72 hrs prior to starting. Can someone with experience please instruct me on what to do. The pharmacist wasn't very helpful either. Thanks in advance. ## Hello, Mickey! How are you? You must be in full withdrawal, before starting Suboxone, otherwise it could throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. There is no specific time frame, it can vary from person to person. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effe...

I am having a hip replacement but am on a waiting list, and the pain is awful. I need to take a pain reliever, but it has to be one that does not have acetaminophen or any other drugs that cause bleeding. I want to know if there is anything available other than just plain Ibuphrohen as it is not strong enough to help. ## Ibuprofen can also cause some blood thinning, just like the Acetaminophen, so can other NSAIDs. Have you consulted your doctor? There are some narcotic medications available that may be better for you to use. ## For God's sake this is a situation which causes pain that no NSAID or mild analgesic is going to help in the least. The mildest I would recommend would be dihydrocodeine but I doubt that is strong enough. Sevredol, instant release morphine, starting at a low...

yellow oblong apo 500 only other side nothing. It is a pill with a film kinda. ## THIS IS NOT A MUSCLE RELAXANT! This tablet contains 500mgs of Naproxen Sodium, a generic for Naprosyn, this is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. ## So it can be used as a pain reliever for menstral cramps tho. I took it lastnight .. helped my cramps, and stiff muscles ## Yes, NSAIDs are often prescribed for menstrual cramps. To give you a better idea of what you are taking, this class of medication also includes Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) and Acetaminophen (Tylenol.) ## K thanks :)

I have been taking suboxone for a week, only 8 mg a day, but over 24 hours ago i only took a half of a 8 mg strip, will I be able to feel pain mess now. It's been 28 hrs since i took half strip. ## @Akc, Due to buprenorphine's long half life of 24 - 60 hours (as reported by samhsa.gov), I would probably encourage you to wait a little longer in-between stopping suboxone and starting narcotic pain meds in order to get the most out of them. If still in doubt you could also take a drug panel to gauge how much suboxone is left in your body. But that might be more trouble than it's worth v.s. just waiting it out for an extra day or two. I hope this helps! Please post back if you're able to update us on how things went.

I have a little different situation. I was put on suboxone because of pain however, after being on it for a little less than a year I've decided to go off of it because it is not giving me much pain relief. I'm down to 1-2MG a day. Do I need to completely be off of it before I start something else? I haven't taken any for 2 days. I have Tylenol 3 that I want to start and I don't want to start to soon if I need to wait longer for the suboxone to leave my system. ## You can take the Tylenol 3 right after suboxone- you won't feel it and it will not make you sick. It's when you take suboxone right after another opioid/opiate that bad stuff starts happening- as in the buprenorphine violently ripping the other med off the receptors. (Precipitated withdrawal). Take the ...
