I have been seeing the same pain management doctor in Ohio for over 12 years for degenerative disc disease with radiculopathy and sciatica. She put me on 60mg MS Contin ER q 12 and 5-10 mg Oxycodone prn for break through pain. Now she tells me that I have to wean down to 60 mg Morphine Equivalent per day because of the new federal laws. I was able to enjoy an active lifestyle and now at 60 mg bid I am miserable and unable to do or enjoy anything. She is forcing me to go to a neuropathology doc for more injections, ablations and physical therapy which I have been through many times before without success. I worked in surgery for 36 years and refuse to go that route because most of the patients had multiple surgeries, each one making them worse. Is she being honest about these laws or jus...

My pain management doctor just cut me off of oxy because I neglected to tell him my dentist prescribed pain meds after he removed 3 dental implants and pulled 3 teeth. I am in the process of having the remainder of top teeth pulled for full dentures. I had a total left hip replacement in December and continue to have pain in my back and hips. My right hip is now starting to show the same symptoms as my left before it was replaced. I'm not abusing the drug; I take as prescribed. However, because I didn't inform my doc of dental issues AND because I had the script filled at a pharmacy closer to my home (after dental surgery), he thinks I am trying to run a scam. Can anyone help me?

Hello everyone! I had an MRI done in December of 2010 on my lower back and was treated with oxycontin 30mg and muscle relaxants from a clinic in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I did that for one month and the pain in my back was gone but I was afraid to get addicted so I stopped and have since been in progressively worse pain. Now for my question, I recently moved to the St. Petersburg (Tampa Bay) area in Florida and am looking to find a doctor who will honor my MRI (3 years old) and also not give me a hard time for prescribing the right pills that ease my pain. I unfortunately lost all the documentation from the Pain Management clinic in Fort Lauderdale about my condition and the place has since been closed. Can someone recommend a clinic for me within my area? I would highly appreciate it. I am...

the doctor i was going to had his license revoked so does anyone know of a good pain management doctor i could go to that will prescribe me my 30 mg oxycodone ## Do you happen to know why his license was revoked? There has to be some serious reason for that to have occurred and, depending on the reason(s), it could create some problems for you in pursuing treatment. For example, if they felt that the doctor was over prescribing, or prescribing controlled substances inappropriately, you may find yourself needing to undergo a lot of medical reviews from one or more other doctors, before someone will prescribe anything for you. Does anyone know of a doctor in the area that he can try?
